I like the blades appearance and means of creating so far, though I could have done without leveling an armor craft just for this.

My only concern is about having invested so much into creating this, but not knowing how to acquire the final components to finish it and make it the color I want…

If only Anet didn’t make them look stupid like neon spider legs growing out of your back. Personally if I was gonna go for that look, I’d rather use the scelerite one but too bad you cant get it anymore.

There might be “a chance”! If you get 1500 citizens saved.

I wonder if the quote from the ascended piece is a Pacific Rim reference or just a coincidence.

We faced Scarlet at our door, and that day we brought the fight to her.

Today we face the monsters that are at our door and bring the fight to them.

All the Mordremoth stuff was a red herring! The true master pulling Scarlet’s strings is Bubbles!

I really liked this back piece as well.

The ability to watch as it progresses while making it is awesome. They need to do this way more often. The customizable glow colors that we will get to choose later will also be really nice.

The only thing I don’t like about is that when my character runs it swings side to side so much that it looks a little odd. If only the part that looks like a jet pack was a little smaller.

I would really like if they would add a small colored flame burst from the bottom of the jet pack portion every time a character jumped. That would look epic. Probably cool enough for it to be worth being a legendary version for that effect.

I wasn’t going to make mine ascended until I got a lucky drop today… so I spent 200g leveling leather worker and making it. Was worth it, for me… but I can see why it wouldn’t be for everyone. . One thing I think is great is that the exotic ones are pretty cheap and easy to make, and account bound, so they’re very alt friendly. I will likely be making an additional exotic for my alts to pass around, just so I don’t need to spend mondo fractal relics or karma on outfitting my 13 lesser alts. (1 main, 2 main alts, 13 lesser alts haha)

200g to level leatherworking and make it…ouch! I only spent 130g to level leatherworking and build it. I wonder what we did differently lol.

I may have only done 130 as well, because I think I may have gambled 70g away trying for a friends precursor… I don’t know. Lol

I just know I had 400g and now I have less than 200 lol

I don’t have the ascended version, but managed to acquire the exotic. I’m working on the ascended. It’ll take me forever, since I have to level my leatherworking to 500 (having never felt like getting anything to 500 previously), and I’m totally skint. Bit of a grind, but I’ve got a few of the ingredients required, at least. I shall get there!

In the meantime, I still like my non-glowy version. It actually complements my mesmer’s look, albeit in a rather OTT fashion. It reminds me of the time beetle attached to Donna Noble’s back in Turn Left (Dr. Who episode), just quite a bit bigger and a lot more metallic. Love it!

OMG. The cost.

I saw the ascended piece in a chat code and fell in love with it. It looks fantastic on my little Asura. But, dang, it’s going to take me a while to finish saving up enough dragonite and empyreal fragments. I had plenty of dust (who doesn’t?), but ran a couple hundred short on the ore and fragments.

Engineers have it rough with back packs. Any time you equip a pack your stuck with this big ugly thing hanging off you. Would be nice if you could disable that or they could downsize that somehow.

With all of these winged back packs, when will we get one that lets us fly or at least glide a little?

So this is where I felt it familiar from. :o

Rawr, now if only they’d copy their Water power mechanics for a new Ele weapon.

If there was a violet one, it would have been perfect for my engineer.
But still very good, both as the appearance and method of crafting. Seeing it “grow” makes it especially nice.
