Best place to farm events for monthly?
The low level areas, especially the 1 to 5 zone usually has events that run almost back to back. I personally prefer the Norn noob area. Raven’s questions, Son’s of Svanir attack on the bear shrine, Rampaging Minotaurs, the 3 event chain starting with the Grawl food sacks, the 3 event chain in the neighboring grawl/elemental cave, the Broodmother, the grawl egg thieves. All happen within a VERY close range of each other with little time between them
Depending on your server, WvW. I got the 100 events in the first day, dolyaks/sentries/actual objectives all count, as does any defend you do, npc camps, etc.
Blacktalon
Army of Devona [AoD]
I also go to low-level areas for this; I rotate through them so it doesn’t get too repetitive, or depending on daily achievement categories such as “Krytan killer”, “Ascalonian killer” and so on.
I never feel I have to grind events for monthlies though as I partake in them whenever possible if I bump into them on the way.
By the way, for certain types of events it is enough to do one thing – to hand a single item (sometimes even none?) to the collector, kill a single ooze, etc. – for you to get the credit (if the event succeeds). So you can get your participation in and then move on to find another event and just watch the karma trickle in, if you have somewhere else to be. This does not work however should you be in a loading screen when the event ends, and not sure about WvW maps.
I prefer to stick around and do event chains, but like I said, I’m not usually pressed for time.

I do my monthly events in Queensdale.
The area between Phinney Waypoint and Vayle Waypoint has bout 8 events, 2 of them spawn every 10 minutes, it’s close to the shadow behemoth and whenever there is no event going on you can kill veteran trees for your monthly veteran killer.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
You can sit on Meatober fest on Diessa Plateau… It’s hard to not see an event going there…
WvW Rank 3800 (Platinum Veteran) – PvP Rank 69 (Shark) – 25,9k Achievment Points
Mërcenaries [Sold] – Ferguson’s Crossing
WvW is the easiest and fastest. Just go around alone, or with friends, doesn’t matter, and kill dolyaks/guards/camps.
Butcher’s Block / Meattoberfest in Diessa Plateau has an abundance of events, as already mentioned. Think there’s like 5-6 events in the nearby area (if you also include the ones in the Wyrm cave nearby), all on pretty shortish reset timers, and the main ones show up on the meta event list. Even moreso now that Flame and Frost is active, which adds possible invader events in the area as well.
There’s also an area of Fireheart Rise on the west side where the meta event is to recruit 3 Grawl tribes for an attack. Each tribe has an individual event to be done, and they seem to reset really fast. When I was there (trying to actually get all 3) by the time I’d finish all 3, the first one I did would usually have reset already or be really close to resetting, so it was a pretty constant cycle. And since its a meta event also, you can see which ones are active even if you aren’t nearby.
I don’t really care for gold, I just want to do 100 events as soon as possible.

Get in a zergball and you’ll get it done incredibly quickly, and the kill vets one too.
Event chains? Harathi Hinterlands, Cursed Shore (Arah chain), Lyssa, Balthazar, Dwayna are all good chains, the only one you may have trouble with is Arah, and the moment you’re done with Warmaster Chan, people will start joining you quickly.

“colesy’s on rampage today. Slaying casuals left, right and centre” – spoj
I do most of my dailies in WvW already and pretty much all NPCs are veterans and everything you do is an event. Run in a zerg, kill yaks, or road sentries.
I like Meatoberfest myself because, well it’s Meatoberfest!
But to switch things up I’m going to try the recommendations here for the Norn noob area near the Grawl caves and Queensdale between Phinney Waypoint and Vayle Waypoint.
Thanks for the reminder about WvW, I need to get in there more often and kill dolyaks and guards.
