DE Scaling for One Player?

While this is true, regarding the Iron Marches Champion that I gave as an example I see one problem here. That being to finish a Heart Quest and be ABLE to access the vendor is usually considered something to be able to do solo. In THIS case it is NOT due to the fact that if this event is up it will impact on that and not allow you to access this vendor.
I would suggest removing the requirement to do the event to be able to access the vendor or atleast change this event to a veteran Mob or something….
There is a vet spider event in the ruins in the SW of timberline falls that spawns on top of the commune skill point there that does not scale down correctly.
There is a vet spider that spawns outside of the event in the same location that does spawn correctly.
If you’re talking about the one in the cave near the ruins, I know that spider. It seems to have the HP of a Champion, and hits like one.
I know this “Veteran” Spider well. Lvl 80m Guardian in Exotic Temple Armor and I solo’d this mob down 3/4 in about 15 mins of Princess Wand kiting then 2 other players showed up to help finish her off. Yep, that spider is way out of Veteran league. Best part of that time invested?

in caledon forest, i cannot defeat Meztli in a crab battle (solo).. he uses block on cd and gains regen, which heals all the damage i can put on him in the time between blocks. event isnt tagged as group.

I remember fighting that when leveling my ele.
I had 10 air 10 arcana and was filling in water. it took me 35 minutes but was fun.

I’ve done each of the bosses solo at least a couple of time.
The moa and drake are relatively easy, but the crab and jellyfish can be tricky.
It will only get regen if you do not attack it while it blocks. So the trick is saving your evades and blocks to avoid its attacks, and spam 1 and 2 while it’s blocking.
Since you become allied to the crab if defeated, you can’t lose, so you can keep trying again and again until you get the knack of it.

thanks for the tips though. i was a bit more worried about being 2 or 3 shot by the silly thing (and avoiding its damage with a hotbar ive never used) than i was worried about figuring out how to actually damage it and keep it from regening.

Well if you didn’t learn how to do it the first time around then alt or not is irrelevant.

However the mob respawn rate seems to not scale down so some events are either very hard or impossible to solo simply because the spots respawn so darn fast.
Seems to me that they scale for the number of players nearby rather than the number participating. I suppose that’s fair enough since the game can’t know if people standing around nearby are going to jump in. It’s worth bearing that in mind when taking on events solo.
Having said that, it doesn’t help that the scaling frequently bumps the levels of the mobs to two above the indicated event level. You really have to be aware of what’s happening around you.

As someone who is leveling up right now (only level 26)….this is the biggest problem. Respawn rates are ridiculously fast when playing solo.
Other than [Group] events, they all scale for 1-10 players. We’re also looking at scaling past that for world bosses and Orr megaevents, but that will take time. If there’s an event that you’re convinced isn’t scaling, please post the name and location and I’ll look at it. I know I’ve solo’d all of the Wayfarer Foothills events that I worked on.
Did you solo the dome? Imo it is impossible for one to solo it…….
Edit: I would like to know how did you solo that boss…. it seems I always don’t have enough endurance on my warrior to dodge all its charges. Additionally, this dome event is definitely not worth it—at least a chest should spawn in that room.

The ettin problem. Ettins have large amount of health which means it takes longer to kill them, which means they will most likely re-spawn before I killed the third one. This is definitely not fun if ettins are around skill points.
Defeating the krait slaver forces at Triskell Quay. I just did it, and it isn’t labelled [Group Event]. Some of the krait have knockback. Then, one type gets quickness, and they also poison. Yet another type drop down caltrops and stack bleeds (which yes they can just be walked out of, but you’d likely have other stacking conditions and/or cripple on you; or if you’ve gotten to a corner to hold out in my case). I was using my necromancer. If I didn’t have minions (which I use for PvE) to at least distribute some of the damage, probably would have failed taking it on solo.

The champion krait witch event at zopatl grounds in caledon forest is impossible to solo or even 2-5 man it with players of the same lvl. She pulls you in which you only have 0.5 secons to react on it which mostly fails and then she takes 75%-85% of your health off then your stunned for a fraction of a second and then she attacks you again resulting in being down and dying eventually.
I knew this was going too happen when you make group events too hard on the leveling course when your several months into the game. Most people stay with their mains and there are barely no new players or people willing too lvl an alt to solve it. I really think you need too look up on this scaling issue and reduce some champion events their dmg output by a lot or make it more visible or even to be able too dodge a major attack from the mob. Since some are just way too unforgiving and it seems those events are harder too complete with 5 people then in TA/AC etc expl which imo does not make sense.

This is my problem too that I’m having with this game. I like it but the respawn/getting ganged on by multiple mobs is really pushing my patience.
I generally finish an area long before i out-level it, so I’m faced with either doing 1-2 level higher DE’s or going somewhere else. Even 1 level higher is proving to be nothing but frustration when combined with respawn rates.

It’s the spawning. I’ve just been trying to solo ‘Defend Pochtecatl as he travels to gather griffon eggs’.
In a narrow chasm you have to beat down griffons one at a time to get to the end while they re-spawn behind you. When you get to the actual egg-stealing bit, every single one of them aggros when the Matriarch does.
I’ve had to leave poor Pochtecatl lying in the dust having tried over and over to get in and rez him.
Nerf the spawn rate for solo I say!
The Great Wurm on Caledon Forest and all the pre-events don’t scale well for the number of players in the area… You’re lucky if you are able to touch anything before it get “deleted”, including the wurm itself…
