Molten Jetpack / Molten Firestorm Drop-rate?
I don’t think it’s too high
Norgy lvl 80 Guardian
Guild: Hunting Hunters[HH]
I’ve done around 17 runs so far, and I’ve got nothing. Nor has anyone I’ve run with.
I got the mini on my second run. I don’t think the drop rate is too low. Imma do it some more hopefully the jetpack drops too.
Done 3 runs…nothing…
Made a point of asking everyone else in the group if they got endless potion, jetpack, mini or receipe and each time it was a no, some of those had done multiple runs…
So that’s around 20 runs there…nothing…
It will be 1 in 10000, if your lucky…
I got in on my 3rd (would’ve been 4h if I finished the one I’ll talk about) run, the jetpack, but it felt like karma lol, I had a horrible run with a pug (three from the same guild, to my demise) and they kicked me at the final boss (me and another guy) to put some of theirs in. It was rather frustrating and it took way too long.
Then I only did with my friend, still pugging, but with him, and it was always a blast and we’ve met really nice and skilled people and I got the jet pack. Felt like things were right.
I’m just hoping that around 5 runs per day will net me the Jetpack before the Dungeon goes away. I’m not the luckiest guy (10 runs in, absolutely nothing worth noting), so now that I have a time limit to grind a dungeon for a rare drop, I’m already feeling overwhelmed and pretty negative. One thing I would really just want to hear is “If you manage to play the dungeon x amount of times, you WILL have your reward”, but sadly that can’t be said, and knowing my luck, I’ll never get it no matter how many times I run it.
This is the problem with RNG + temporary content; if I manage to run this thing about 65 times, each run taking roughly an hour, there’s still no guarantee I’ll get what I’m looking for. Then the dungeon’s gone, and I just sit there asking why did I just waste 65 hours on absolutely nothing. Not to mention little new guy running it on the last day gets the thing outta nowhere, and gets rich or just flaunts it because it’s not like RNG involves effort, time, or skill.
Maybe if you got a little ticket after every run, then at 40 tickets or something you can buy a Tonic Recipe, Mini, or Jetpack. I thought this was the norm for dungeon rewards (see: every dungeon plus SAB that came & went), but I guess I should stop expecting those smart tickets.
I guess I’ll just keep at it and hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised, however with only 22 found+selling, I don’t think that’s going to happen in the next 2 weeks.
So you can get the chest at the end multiple times?
So you can get the chest at the end multiple times?
Yes, you can get the chest after every run regardless of character opening it. The only limit is how much time you have, and how much time you can use to sink into the dungeon. All within this small time period the you can actually play the content.
I’ve done six runs so far and nobody in my party has got it. I thought the price would have dropped by this point, but the jetpacks on the TP keep getting bought up and relisted for 100g+. It’s pretty kittening frustrating since this is the first time I’ve cared about rewards from these one times events.
My options are keep running nonstop for 12 days or somehow farm the 100+ gold I’d need to afford the cheapest one. kittening add this kitten to the gemstore after events. All Anet accomplishes with this stuff is a kittened up economy.
I’m not quitting over something as minor as a skin, but Anet isn’t doing a good job of endearing me to this living story stuff or their decisions on it.
It’s ridiculous that the drop rate is this low. If anything the implementation of the SAB rewards was better than this dungeon’s reward implementation. It’s ironic that an April Fools joke was better than this.
Well, for once in my life, I got lucky – I got the jetpack on my first and only run of this dungeon. Had no idea it was such a rare thing. Pondered what to do with it. It’s cool, I guess, but not appropriate for any of my characters. Anyway, after I saw someone on the forums mention that it was selling for a high price on the TP I promptly sold it and used the proceeds to finance a server transfer, which was not cheap. O_o

Yeah, they should had something like the baubles from SAB. That way, we would be guaranteed what rewards we wanted. I know I want both the mini and jetpack (at least one of each, preferably a couple jetpacks), but knowing my luck, I won’t get either to drop, even when I’ll be doing 3 runs a weeknight and more on the two weekends.
Please give us a keyring…
Ran it for the first time last night, 2 people in the group got recipes, I got the Mini Molten Firestorm. Didn’t even know about the MINI Drop but when I hit sell on TP I went from -.- oh cool a mini to 0.0 ermahgerd look at how much gold I can get for this mini. I may keep him though he looks pretty awesome
Honestly I like the dungeon enough to keep at it, but I’m probably going to get a bit nervous if I don’t have the items I’m wanting by the last few days of the content.
Though, getting a free set of orange Sentinel’s gear to make for alts isn’t too shabby…
peasants had no bread and who responded: “Let them eat brioche.”
A guild mate got the Jetpack on his 2nd run last night :/
Got the mini on my second run, sold it for 67g
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
4 runs so far and just got insignias and mostly blues and greens with a couple yellows.
Kildemort (W) / Killer Claws (G)
Deadly God (En) – Fort Aspenwood
4 runs so far and just got insignias and mostly blues and greens with a couple yellows.
Oh you can get yellows from it? I’ve got nothing but rares and masterworks after 6 or so runs. If I can’t even get yellow drops, a jetpack is too much for my luck =(
I did four runs – got insignias each time (2 yellow, 2 orange).
I would love the jetpack, but giving that I’ll probably do the dungeon once a day (absolute maximum) eh… not getting my hopes up
