Guild Wars 2

Have had a couple where this happens. Thread gets to a certain length then you go to view it and you can’t see anything at all …

Here’s one example:

It shows zero posts when I know there’s over 50.

The above one periodically has all posts missing and unaccessible .. but am seeing this with more and more threads … any fix/help for it?

Just started doing the same thing today .. any way to fix this particular one because it’s incredibly useful?

Very often happens to me as well. It seems to be more likely to happen when the current page of the topic is almost full and it’s about to open a new page and when it’s done, topic works again :o

The problem at hand is the following:

Deleted posts are only made invisible to regular users from what I understand.
Posts are then moved forward from later pages to fill up the current page.
If a thread has a lot of deleted posts this leads the forums to direct you to an empty page (since all the posts on that page has been moved forward to a previous page to fill in for deleted posts).
If the number of deleted posts exceeds 1 full page it will become permanently bugged.

I’m not sure exactly how you keep track of post numbers and their relation to pages, but there is something not being updated properly when you delete posts to account for deletion.

Hiya. Thank you very much for the tips on how to wrangle this issue. The second suggestion worked perfectly, but the first and third ones gave me the same blocked content .. unviewable pages. Just letting you know in case it helps with troubleshooting. Thanks very much for the help.

Vayra! That is exactly what is happening! Thanks. It seems like mods or forum goers are deleting posts so if it drops down under 2 pages. The forum still directs people to the second page even though it doesn’t exist.

With my post about dungeon finder I kept getting directed to an empty page

PLEASE tell me this is now GW2’s “FIX”. The Missing Posts issue is getting annoying.

It’s existed since the forums launched. If your post happens to be the last one on the page before a new page is created, that thread will default to the next page (blank)
