Megaserver, Player skill, and frustration

Megaservers = cluster*&^%
Really though, that’s what it comes down to. They need to address the situation somehow.
But, there are other people other than TTS going for gold. I know AARM has been having a decent amount of success on golds the last few nights. But maps filling up is always an issue thanks to these megaservers. Really really getting annoying.
Can we add a button with a big paragraph that basically says "click the left button if you want to join the literate server, just press “ok” if you want to join the illiterate server" So those that actually care to read things can all play together? =)
The problem is that people don#t want their skill levels raised.
What Anet is saying is that (despite how simple the mechanics are), we want everyone to be in a raid mindset. It doesn’t work. Not everyone wants to raid, and we don’t have a choice but to be thrown in the same bloody pot.
If a dev is reading, please just stop trying to make these events, it’s just frustrating. If you want raids, either instance them or give us districts so we can play with like-minded people.
Have a system where you have MegaServers but a UI where you can join/create other server instances.

I completely disagree, in fact my reaction to these events was simply “sweet, this is what GW2 was missing”. A nice quick event that is always available that really promotes active individual play as well as a team strategy to complete the event.
I find it a lot of fun.
I just wish those of us that cared to do it right could team up easier without having a ton of people who simply don’t care ruining it. I’m glad bronze gives crud for rewards, because then maybe those people will get out of there after they get the achievements.
Give me a vendor that sells tokens to start our own instances of it such that we could pull people in we wanted and that’s it.
There’s nothing wrong with not liking this kind of content, but don’t ruin it for everyone else, please.

I like your Idea but I think that would end up building more servers than before MegaServer patch.

They could put a cost on it. 10-20g to create an instance. Very easily worthwhile for guilds or organized groups, but not for your general zergling.

this I could get behind,

What you’re saying is basically an instanced raid, which is what I want as well, but apparently Anet doesn’t want that because it will ‘split the community’. I’ve never seen a community more split than we are now, with so much hate towards those who simply don’t want to raid.

I very much agree. I have no ill will towards those that simply want to get on and do what they want to do. It’s just incredibly frustrating when them doing that ruins my fun. It’d be nice if I could step away from those people and play with people who have my same views on game play.
@rsq: From personal experience, it takes allot longer then 15 minutes to organize pugs, especially if you don’t have any commanders and only a few people helping you…
People are however learning.. Today we almost got gold participation, but Pyro reset on 2% to full HP because he was the last boss alive and enough people swarmed to bug him out… This was on a 100% pug map with 1 commander that did more bad then good.
