Completed it on the third try.

A little bit easier this year since they removed the bubble from the arena.

I got it on my first try!

It was by mistake, and I was showing my newbie friend how to enter the Gauntlet and it said, YOU ARE THE NEXT CONTESTANT! GET READY!

I was like…. I’m screwed 10x over…

And then voila! First try I got her!

I didn’t have any food, proper weapons or even the proper trait set up!

weirdly so much easier than last time almost felt like its been nerfed times x100 xD

After burning through some of my leftover tickets from last time beating Liadri up, I eventually managed to beat her with a silly engineer heal bomb build which I used for stomping over Subject 7 in the days.

Bombs for healing plus rifle for a bit of range when needed and to bring down distant orbs quickly. Maintenance Oil + Omnonberry Pie up. Full celestial gear with runes of lyssa, yes the all-stats one that every one considers inferior.
Looks like you won’t need insane damage gear or build this time around.

Yet Liadri fight still kills players far too often due to bad controls, bad camera and overall bad luck with random orb spawns, which makes this fight only partly skill based, you also need a bit of luck.

There it is. I main a warrior and was struggling to defeat her, so I switched to my engineer and was able to get the title as well as the Light Up the Darkness achievement seen in the screenie.

I beat Liadri last year. It took countless attempts to defeat her.. Took me 5 tries to beat her this time in a rematch, only because I forgot the pattern for Phase 1. She’s much, MUCH easier this year. And that’s a good thing because a lot of that difficulty came from bullkitten things.

The removal of the dome is great as it removes a lot of the camera problems the original fight had.

The original ground notification for Liadri’s Shadow Fall ability used to be extremely hard to see. Just the original thin red lines across a gated floor. Often times I simply couldn’t tell where the danger zone is. Now, Liadri uses the Watchknight / Prime Hologram / worldboss style ground notifications making it very clear where Shadowfall is going to land.

The introduction of a medic that revives players after losing the fight is great. Before you needed another player kind enough to wait around and revive you if you lost the fight and if you didn’t have that you had to walk aallll the way back up. Doing the fight before used to be extremely frustrating because of this.

Over all, I feel like the fight has been fixed and made mostly fair. That said, I think they nerfed her total phase 2 health, I think? She dropped really fast for me compared to last time. I don’t really think that was necessary but whatever. Once I got to phase 2 it was like the fight was impossible to lose.

Anyway, it was fun to have a rematch and I really like the new title. It’s a much better indicator of completing the hardest solo challenge in the game compared to the minipet.

Finally got mine a little bit ago. Pretty happy!

Dunked on Liadri with my regular Ranger build…SO much easier compared to last year. Used Hunter’s Shot to drop aggro when I had no endurance. That’s…it.

Took way fewer attempts this year, just had to remember the proper order to get the first phase done the quickest. The orange circles also make a huge difference, so much more visible than last year.

Might as well add this.

There will be so many who get Liadri this time since they nerfed her and the Queen’s Gauntlet in general.

Spent upwards of 70 tickets on Liadri alone last year, this time she was beaten after 15-20 tries; mostly down to me remembering what I did.

Gone is the challenging camera angle, and her Shadowfall is very easy to spot now that AoEs have those bright red markers on the ground.

Last time, after all those attempts and finally getting her I wrote a little ode to her; this time it was simply a tip of the hat… so long, my lady!

Or actually… time to get cracking on the 8-orb kill!

Here’s mine… She really is pretty easy now..

She’s got nerfed the good way. Last time she brought me to the brink of desperation. Im kind of a stubborn player who doesn’t want to change his build until its really necessary. So after I gave up beating her with my Celestial Golemancer Mesmer with “take root” I bought zerker gear and beat her in five tries. this year it was two tries with the zerker gear.

Hey Anet, I really like to see how PvE in GW2 is evolving. You could even add something harder right now to raise the challenge while keeping the quality of the Queens Gauntlet. For now, the 8 orbs Liadri seems just fine for me. (Gambit Liadri needs achievements)

So much easier than when I beat her the last time around and the AoEs are much more visible. It took me 2 attempts because I was playing guarded expecting a harder fight and wasn’t aggressive enough so ran out of time.

One thing… why am I the Blazing Light for killing Liadri. Suriel was the Blazing Light. Shouldn’t I be The Concealing Dark too for snubbing out Suriel previously then following this logic?

Enjoying the necro cheese mode that allows you to do it without making her go into phase 2? :P

Easy once I figured out the pattern for phase 1. Took me 20 minutes tops maybe.

Beat her again on my second attempt. Definitely much easier this time around. Removal of the dome and giant orange circles allows you to pay more attention to the other elements of the fight.

While I appreciate these QoL fixes, I am disappointed that there was no new tier of boss fights introduced.

Went really smooth one attempt for something i have not touched in a year never mind remembering the build… alas 8orb/5gambit eludes me.

+1 so much! You already get the mini to show off you killed her, would be really nice if you could somehow show off if you made the 8 orb achievement, which is actually hard and deserves it.

I completely agree with this. There should definitely be a title for finishing 8 orb achievement. More people would try and go for it too then.

About time I got this. I couldn’t do it first time!

I love you Anet for making a title that depends only on me, not on the zerg!
I’ll wear it proudly until we will have opportunity to get even harder title (maybe a new title for 8 orbs next year? ;D ).

Finally got it 10 minutes ago on my Thief. SOOOO happy it’s finally done. You can see the skills I used, my trait setup was 6 4 4 0 0, with traits 4 8 12 in Deadly Arts, 5 6 in Critical Strikes, and 1 9 in Shadow Arts. Was also wearing full apothecary gear (Superior Runes of Krait) to help with the healing. I was managing to stay afloat using the venoms to keep my health up, and there were a few troubling spots, but finally done.

Well it was a pain last year with my ranger, but this year I tried with my ele.

All I’m saying is:

Fiery Greatsword

As soon as you’re situated in part two, just pop that FGS and its a near guaranteed win. The ranged damage is intense and penetrating and the dodges just keep coming. As soon as Liadri and her clones get close, twirl right through them before she gets a chance to cripple, and if she does: She’s only going to take more damage every time you spin.

Not 100b Light Up The Darkness… Took me quite some time, but the normal kill was in 4th try I think ^^

I tried more than 30 times with minimal guides aside from Dulfy’s and then found a current all classes video on Reddit which helped me. After adjusting my Guardian’s traits and weapons as well as another 25+ attempts, I finally defeated her with a second remaining.

well as i had killed liandri last year it was easy thies year, but unlike last year this year i also done the light up the darkness achiv , and the funny thing is , after about 30 tries on my bersek mesmer i almost gave up again and logged on my bersek ele (fresh air pvp build) just for fun to give it a try ….and it worked on the first try lol…that was a nice suprise

WOO, finally got mine done after a year of frustration.

Took me only 7 tries this year. Guess all that solo Lupi training paid off in more ways then one ^^
