Happy with +30 Change? Post Here!
Depending on what they say is better rewards it’s a good thing. If the rewards are still not worth the time then it doesn’t really matter that they changed it.
How much over 30? 5 or 50? :P
Sure, we all appreciate their efforts but we don’t just want our efforts completely forgotten. Few tweaks and most of the complainers would fully support the change.

I’m waiting to see the livestream so that we can have some idea about how much instabilities will variate the content, but i’m overall fine with the change as it is.
I was only 49 and stopped doing fractals a long time ago, don’t care about level reset. Not sure why those at 80 care as the whole point I assume was personal challenge and assured rewards. Surely by this point they had the rewards they wanted, and you can’t take away what they already accomplished so…
I’m waiting to see what the Instabilities actually are before I form an opinion. They could be game-changing for the better, or they could be incredibly lame and just keep 31-50 as a snore-fest like it always has been, but even moreso since the curve is being modified.

I wonder how much gold for level 30-50 for daily. Hopefully better than 3g+ cause fractals are longer and harder than arah.

considering the AR cap 50 was intended to be the hard cap for fractals with current AR scaleing. so please stop complaining that anet revamped fractals and reset every 1 to 30.

I don’t fractal yet, but don’t the changes they’re making to the fractals essentially make your levels meaningless now anyway? I mean, you earned 50+ in the old fractals…these new fractals with Instabilities are a different animal. Technically, you’ve earned 0 fractal levels with the new Mistlock Instabilities so you’re losing nothing. Have to earn your way to the top of these now.

It’s fine to add challenges and new fractals for players asking for new permanent content, especially when the current content is being played by some to a degree that the devs didn’t expect (ex: lvl 70 fractals).
You’re stuck on the word meaningless and not on the fact that new stuff has been added and your progression through the old is =/= to your progression in the new. Earn it.

It is fine to make things meaningless so long as nobody loses anything, and with these changes, no one has lost anything. Players keep every reward they’ve earned while playing FoTM. The only change is an arbitrary number.
If people really care that much, they can get a Post-It, write “Personal Reward Level: 80”, and stick it to the upper right corner of their monitors. It accomplishes the same exact thing that it would have previously, which is displaying a number only you can see.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Technically you don’t own anything in this game. So whatever they do nobody loses anything. Just wipe all gold, you can write numbers on paper if you really care.

My experience or lack thereof with any facet of a game does not effect you having to earn your fractal levels. If I wanted to attain the same thing, I’d have to earn it as well.
I’m not being snide, I’m issuing the same challenge Anet has. The devs have added a new facet to fractals. For those proud of exceeding the previous soft-cap of 50, they can now be proud of earning their way to the cap with the added challenge of Mistlock Instabilities.

Most likely scenario is that it will be way easier than current scale 70-80. So proving my worth seems quite pointless. Just seems like extra grind added for no reason.
I don’t like the leaderboards. Silly implementation and I don’t see the point.
I especially don’t like my levels being reset because of it.
Instabilities should start at 50 in my opinion. The 80s should not be reset, and they should be allowed to try 80 on day 1. If they can’t do it, good, they have a challenge. If they can, well then they should be able to instantly skip to the end, since it’s a time gate and not a skill gate.
All around it’s silly implementation that caters to the casual player.
I like the sound of a lot of the changes, but I’m withholding judgement until I actually see how well they are implemented.

I know that I have no interest in comparing myself to others. I know that Anet has stated that is the reason that they are resetting levels.
I don’t see any way they could make it so I cared about leaderboards, especially for the sake of resetting my progress.
Do not care about the leaderboards. I think the leaderboards are meaningless.
I am excited about the upcoming changes, and have high hopes that they will be fun. I just hope they don’t dissapoint
All my 8 toons are 30, 5 above 40, a couple above 50. I do not care about the being sent back to 30.
That said, there is a lot of other changes I consider necessary that are not being mentioned. The currency exchange for example (pristine and fractal relics) has not been mentioned once. Even when we asked repeatedly.
All of these changes could have been made without the clunky agony mechanics, the level reset or the leaderboards that nobody wanted.
Then again, we said the same when ascended gear was released and we were ignored back then. Why will it be different this time?

After the livestream, i can say i agree with your first post.
I like it. I reached scale 30 today after some hard work. But I sincerely believe those above 30 should be compensated. Maybe 2 gold per level of FotM that gets reset? Or something. I don’t know. Just doesn’t seem right to the poor kittens who bought countless revive orbs to get to 80+.
They should definitely be compensated for their hard work. A system is meant to be broken, the fact that they broke through the caps by “abusing” exploits is what made ANet aware of them and able to patch them. They’ve done ANet a great service and it wasn’t easy for them to do.
Maybe make an “old” leaderboard of whoever is highest currently and reward them thereafter with titles or such that will be exclusive to them for being able to destroy ANets content.
I think higher level fractals NEEDED new mechanics and rewards. Around lvl 30 is when fractals really start becoming challenging, and honestly it was just a “here are more, stronger mobs and higher health pools” before. I think the change is needed, and I welcome it.
OT: I also applaud their decision to make the easier fractals harder and the harder fractals easier. I think that needed to happen.
I do think they’re out of their minds to consider “cliffside” to be an “easy” fractal though. Another one of those “do they even play this game?” moments.
I don’t care about the reset.
I don’t base my worth on a number on the top right corner on the screen or the time I spent in game or the number of rez kit I used to glitch my way up to 80 (I didn’t glitch above 50 at all).
What I care about is new content that seems good so far (livestream + announcement).
What I care about is having fun and challenging content that is more than a larger health pool or one shot attacks.
And guess what ? we also get the cherry on the top with better reward on forth.
