Guild Wars 2

I am looking for a guild for both me and my husband. I posted here a few months ago looking for a guild and we found one, but unfortunately I guess I forgot to emphasize “mature” enough. Despite us being the youngest members, we’ve now been drowning in drama that is ruining what we would like to be a fun gaming experience (isn’t that the point?). So I would like to reiterate “mature,” not necessarily “old”! We’re definitely not serious people and we are pretty bad jokers, so I don’t mean no fun — I just mean no drama!

We are both graduate students so we don’t like to be tied down to a strict schedule, but we are on most nights and like having people to do dungeons/fractals, etc. We are also interested in some casual WvW, but the world we transferred to to be with our guild consistently gets trounced every week, so we haven’t done as much as we’d like. We are in CST, and ideally would like to have people that are on around the same time as us. We’ve had challenges running things that start late and so do not end around midnight on school/work nights which is what we aim for. We are not particularly interested in guild missions, but we are happy to participate if needed.

We each have two fully exotic/ascended geared 80s (Warrior, Mesmer, Guardian, Engineer). We are willing to transfer worlds if we find the right guild.

Reader’s digest version: We’re looking for a non-strict schedule, low-drama guild that’s probably a bit silly but still has competent players that can get through some of the more difficult content. I would be happy to receive forum PMs from any recruiters that think their guild may be a good fit for us!

My guild is called The Gryphons Aerie. We are a smaller, social, 18+ PvE/RP family on Tarnished Coast. Some of us also enjoy knocking some heads in WvsW and a touch of sPvP. We know that RL comes first and stress that fact. We’ll still be there even if you can’t for a bit of time. We enjoy helping each other and doing things together when possible. All you have to do is ask if you need help with something and we’ll do our best to come to your aid.

You are more than welcome to just guest on our server for a while before making a choice to move permanently. If you do try us out and decide that you do like us, we’ll help you get the gems you need.

There is also no requirement to be representing us at all times. It’s not our business to tell you who you can and cannot associate with; that choice is yours alone. All we ask is that you give us some time too. We do have a TeamSpeak 3 as well, but it’s use is on a purely optional basis. Most of our chatter is on the guild channel.

[UM] totally knows what you mean on drama free and for that reason a lot of our rules revolve around creating a stress/drama free environment, one that you can kick back and relax and enjoy the game with friends! We actually have 5 couples in our guild including myself and my husband. Everything on our schedule is drop in attendance yet the activity on them is great. Who We Are
We are a PvX guild with a pride in respecting others, no matter their play style or play level. We also are tight knit and enjoy getting to know one another through activities such as Dungeons, WvW, Fractals, sPvP, or partying up in PvE to do Orr events and
Dragons, and even helping with lvling main characters and alts.

The Unholy Mackerels has a core group of active members and we are building upon that, however doing so slowly so we get to know each and every one. We currently are a medium size guild with 55 members and with 20+ of us active daily, consisting of mostly NA members.

We are quite the social guild through teamspeak and guild chat. We use teamspeak but do not require it. Our newer members can listen in on the first few days and talk when they feel comfortable, however most talk within minutes because of how easy going everyone is!

What We Do
We currently run weekly scheduled WvW, Dungeons, Fractals, Guild Treks and Guild Bounties and do any of the above throughout the week off schedule. Also we provide FUN events and random guild chat trivia with prizes. There is always something going on daily, usually any time after 6pm EST – 2am EST during the weekdays and any time during the weekends.

What Server We Are On
You can find us on the Fort Aspenwood server. A tier 2 server for WvW, has quite a busy PvE population in maps, has a friendly community forums for all things GW2, also has a community teamspeak where everyone is welcome and also has our own guild channel (however we use our private TS in most cases), and a server that enjoys working together through good communication while playing to just have fun.

What if I’m not on FA?
No fear! UM allows recruits to guest for up to a month in order to help everyone to have time to gather in game gold or irl money in order to transfer. Our staff and members are also more than willing to help by running events to help out! With all the events we run it is very easy to make the money to transfer in as little as a week.

Hi Cloudfire, I read your post and think you’d be perfect. We have quite a few husband and wife teams and our guild is very friendly, casual and drama free. We don’t make any demands of our members and, while we don’t do much WvW at the moment, we are on Jade Quarry which is the top tier 1 server—you can smell the zerg !

The name of our guild is Just Us Grownups or [JUGs] and, if you’re older than 25, we could be just the guild you’re looking for.

We are a very friendly, very casual adult guild who value community above anything else. Everyone in the guild has a great relationship with each other and people are always helping each other out—provided they have the free time.

We are a small—but growing (currently we have 90 members)—guild catering to the 30+ crowd. We are very laid back and just want to game, hang out and avoid drama.Because we place such a high value on community, we will no longer be actively recruiting once we reach 100 members.

Our guild does have an age requirement in place to keep the environment mature; almost all of our members are men and women between the ages of 30-65. We do allow people 25-30 to join but they must fill out an application via our website.

We are primarily a PvE guild but some of us also jump into the WvW realms every now and then.

Our guild is happy to take in members, regardless of experience level. If you want to learn, we’ll answer your questions; if you have knowledge to pass on, we’ll listen.

We’re small, but have been averaging about two new players a day. To be honest, I’d prefer a small guild full of tight-knit members as opposed to a large guild that’s basically comprised of small cliques.

The guild is run with a ‘hands-off’ approach and most matters in the guild are handled by vote. We don’t make demands or requirements other that you have a good time when you’re with us.

In my opinion, a guild’s success is not due to its accomplishments, but of how much people enjoy being a part of it.

All of us have real lives that come first and no one’s going to pressure you in any way to spend more time with the guild than you can.

I created the guild so there would be a good gaming environment free of the tension and drama of the hardcore guilds which are usually comprised of younger players.

We’re on the Jade Quarry server. If you’re not on Jade Quarry, unfortunately, a transfer would be necessary if you’d like to join us. You can, however, feel free to try us out as a guest. You could join our guild, share in our guild chat channel, run dungeons with us, talk to us on our Ventrilo server, and see what we’re like—the only thing you wouldn’t be able to do is participate in WvW combat with us. It’s like ‘leasing with the option to buy.’

We have both Ventrilo and Mumble voice servers. We also have a feature-rich website where you can create and co-ordinate events that other members can sign up for.

Hey there Cloudfire!

The Underground Clown Brigade is looking to recruit players to do just those things with. We’re a small guild consisting of only a few regularly active members, but we have a good time and are always on the lookout for some chill people that just want to play and have a good time. We’re located on Sorrow’s Furnace, which has been doing pretty well in WvW.

The only rules we have are to represent us when you can (we’re laid back about that as long as you talk to us), and that you use raidcall if you’re cool with voice chat.

We’re mostly based in US East Coast and I’m usually online most evenings, so if you catch me online, feel free to come visit us and decide for yourselves if we’d be a good match for you two! Hope to hear from ya!

I’m sure you don’t like to read full reviews of guilds all the time so here’s short version why you should join our guild:
- Mature (18+)
- Casual (no force log-ins, life first)
- Helpful: a lot of members completed most content so we spend a lot of time together, playing through content or helping others
- Fun: we have quite a lot of events that become fun when more people join in for them, we do WvW, Dungeons, FotM and Guild Missions (3 unlocked!)
- Average playerbase (~60 active members, not too small for events, but not too big to become a simple number)
- Server: Gandara (awesome place to be)
