Guild Wars 2

I’m hoping to find a social/casual guild with UK/EU members and no pressures. I haven’t started playing yet so can choose any server to fit the right guild. (Downloading now).
I play evenings, weekends and often wednesday daytime too. I’m mature but my gaming experience is that of a newb. I will have a lot to learn. Basically I want a guild that feels like ‘home’ and ‘family’.

Ah yeah! I forgot about the spam protections for new accounts. I think that’s just while they clear all the payments, & confirm you’re not a gold seller/bot.

We are a casual guild (Dragonbrand) with 45 members and looking to recruit more.

We participate in PvE, PvP and WvW and have players between 16-42 years old. We have experienced players who are willing to teach newbies everything there is to know about the game. We have a very active guild community and run regular dungeons and guild events.

Well I’ve picked race and name. Still undecided on profession. I prefer not to be too squishy but am intrigued by a video that stated Guardians use magic? Will have to investigate further I’m now thinking of waiting til morning before venturing ingame. My OH has competitions all day Saturday & Sunday so I’ll have plenty of time to concentrate undisturbed lol. In other games I’ve made several alts before choosing a main and here I want to get the first one right, to be me! I want to live my character fully.

Oh btw talking age… all I’m saying on a public forum is that I got the key of the door a long long time ago :P I’m definitely female, definitely want EU server.

Ok so I couldn’t resist a quick peep tonight. All you guys are on Very High pop servers. No-one around on the medium pop servers? I’m wondering if joining a high pop will mean que’s for everything? Or so many people around I won’t be able to see what’s going on?

Desolation is high population but there are no queue’s that I am aware of apart from the odd small wait for WvWvW, but its nothing out of the ordinary(you just carry on doing what you want until you can enter).

High population does mean there are always plenty of people to group up with to do things though, which is never a bad sign

Speaking for Ferguson’s Crossing, I’ve never had a problem logging in or having a queue to get into the game. During special events I have been sent to an overflow server but that happened even when we were a medium pop. server. The only time WvW has put me off was when they were transitioning games and that only took a few minutes to come up again.

The days of long queues are mostly over in this game. From a WvW standpoint it is actually healthy to have a short queue for your maps — it means that you are fielding a full team on a consistent basis. Longer queues get to be a pain, but as I mentioned, that pretty much doesn’t happen anywhere any more.

It’s a big game and most medium population servers are probably going to seem pretty quiet by comparison to the rest. Those servers really need more people, but it is a matter of whether or not you are willing to take the tradeoff of not having enough people around for events and a much lower level of competitiveness in WvW.
