Small Guild Alliances
So by the lack of responses I’m assuming that nobody thinks this is an idea worth working on. Good to know.

Oh I think it’s a great idea. It needs time to grow, though. This reminds me I might have to mention to my guild leader about this sort of thing.
Though . . . in the past we have taken content outside our supposed skill level
The patch notes aren’t up yet. Probably you should wait before jumping to conclusions.
From information that’s been posted elseware(gw2guru for instance) we at least know that to unlock the first guild missions you need AoW 5 and an additional 30k influence to unlock the mission. So it’s not exactly jumping to conclusions.
With that said though, this idea for small guild alliances isn’t based solely for the purpose of guild missions. You’d realize this if you read the post.

I think you need to give people more than 8 minutes to think about it. Even small guilds need to talk among themselves.
Personally, I don’t understand how it would world since each guild has it’s own upgrades and influence. There isn’t anyway to combine influence (I don’t think).
What I’m suggesting is for guilds to help each other; not just with guild missions, but with other content as well. I’m trying to promote community.
I’m also not looking for an immediate response from people saying “Oh I’ll do that, count me in!”; so much as other guild leaders opening up to the idea and possibly confirming at least an interest.
There should be a tool in game to facilitate guild alliances. It would help smaller guilds to hook-up and really help guilds connect.

Actually . . . yeah, I’d like to see that, that was one thing from GW1 I think could work with “multi-guild citizenship”. Especially as my alliance on GW1 was a bunch of small guilds who did exactly what I’ve suggested here: get together at an agreed-upon time and do some blisteringly hard content together.
I agree, but until that time comes….we have the forums.
this reminds of that guild thread where guilds just list willy nilly.. i dont expect anyone to read that unorganised ridiculous long list to find any guild ingame. i doubt they would for “alliances” either. :|
I also listed my information for in game. So if anyone is interested; they can either talk to me, or leave their information for me so I can contact them and work out something.
My guild personally has recently started having an activity night every 2 weeks where we get together and do a dungeon, do some jumping puzzles, play hide n seek, etc.
Would be great to organize some things like this with more than just us.
I have a smaller guild n kittenittenrying to find other small guilds to merge with. Sort of the same idea as an alliance I guess. Smaller groups of 10-50 friends that still have their own personal guilds for their space and my guild as a hub for activities. Personally i’d like to keep the entire thing around 100 members just to its more personal.
edit…I have no idea why the kitten filter is censoring that.

While I’m not open to merging my guild into another guild. I am willing to accept others into mine(so long as they meet requirements). But that’s neither here nor there.
I’m more concerned with having a solid foundation for future co-operation between guilds.
Hi all, I am an officer in Nova Diem, a primarily PvE based guild on Tarnished Coast. I have been working toward this idea for a few weeks now. I’ve been pitching the idea to every PuG I’ve been in. I have managed to grab a few “alt-guildies” but even with that and pumping cash into the guild promoter, I still don’t feel any closer to being able to set off these guild events. So anyone interested in allying or merging, send me a PM here, or in game.
We can work something out for guesting between servers to make an alliance if you’re interested.
We are on Sorrow’s and run an open policy that no one has to rep 100%. Cross alliances for us would mean that you or someone from your guild would have a single alt in ours and one or more of us would have a single alt in yours. The idea being that we can all flip back and forth to assist as needed.
Currently we are only PvE. Our guild name is Order of the Ram. You can message me here or in game for more info.

And that is why the idea will never work. Everyone likes the idea of merging guilds to make a cohesive unit and alliance, but only if everyone is coming to theirs.
For an alliance to function you need a hub where everyone can see who is online representing which guild. For example, guilds A, B, C, D and E want to be an alliance. Since there is no mechanism to support an alliance, everyone joins guild C which becomes the alliance “roster” and chat channel. This makes infinitely more sense than everyone in every guild joining every other guild.
Most of the time people represent their own guild. For WvW or alliance activities they would represent guild C so everyone can benefit and have access to the benefits.
Why it will never work: everyone wants to be guild C or not involved at all. As Loosifah has demonstrated.
Dragonbrand
I definitely think alliances should be brought into this game. I loved them in GW1.
No, you’ve got it wrong Acidic. While I will accept others into my guild, I’m not asking for people to leave theirs to come to mine. That was a “here nor there” part of it.
My concern is the alliances. I’d even be willing to create a random BS guild in order to serve as the hub. But as my first post stated, I’m not only listing this idea for guild missions; but rather for co-operation between multiple guilds for anything they may want to do.
I am also on Sorrows Furnace – I have thought about this myself and the only way I see it working is if you have a team speak or vent server.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
My guild has a 25 person vent server.
Small guild on Crystal Desert – We’re just friends & family, with no interest in being a Mega-Guild, so alliances sound good. It would probably be good for other things, too – instances & such.

Well this is what I was getting at earlier with the merging and alliances. Possible poor choice or words.
I have a guild that was full of WoW players that have since gone inactive. It has the first two guild bank upgrades, level IV and V upgrades, is sitting on 40k influence and some prepared banners. I also have an upgradable 25 man mumble server.
Since rebuilding from scratch is like ice-skating uphill, and it would be a shame to just toss out all thats gone into it…I would like to restructure my guild and ranks to serve as a hub for a small guild alliance .
The problem is that every time I get guild leaders to seriously talk about it, instead of understanding the concept of multiple guilds with a hub, they just want everyone to disband and form one large guild. And every leader has their reasons for why their guild is better.
If there are leaders of some small/medium guilds here that understand and support the concept and seriously want to form a cross server PvE alliance, PM me and we will get things going.

I think the idea of having 1 central hub guild for communication is a great idea; but everyone also wants their small guild to grow. So the hub guild would only really work to communicate between the guilds(You see people online, not repping the hub guild, you know who’s available).
I can understand not wanting your guild to die and that restructuring is hard; but if we can get an alliance going and start working together so we all get the upgrades; eventually we’ll be doing the missions and pulling in more members.
I need to discuss it with my guild to see what they think, we are small because we got tired of all the scheduling and RL interruption that being an active raid guild can do to us “older” gamers. We enjoy our casual atmosphere and would like to progress our guild so I think an alliance of this sort may be just the right thing to keep a balance for us.
I am not sure how that will work cross server but feel free to message me in game to chat about it. Guild name is Eccentric on Maguuma.
With the guesting mechanic in place an alliance can choose a guest world to move to(since all influence transfers to your characters home world) and complete content/activities/missions there.
Been holding a 3 guilds alliance for over 3 months now [not smal guilds], recently added another one [small one], it’s been working wonderfully for dungeon runs, WvW and almost anything else u wanna do when u lack some people in either of the guilds, not to mention those massive zergs in WvW
So the hub guild would only really work to communicate between the guilds(You see people online, not repping the hub guild, you know who’s available).
Thats the idea.
It would also be used for alliance events. Like map clears, dragons, assisting publicly in other guilds challenges and the like. So everyone can see everyone in the alliance in one area.
As far as repping goes, if each guild in the alliance only reps the hub for one dungeon run in the course of a week, then there is enough influence for a guild challenge. If the hub starts a guild challenge then that means everyone in the alliance has access to loot, possible precursors, and commendations. Instead of just the informal rewards for assisting as a non-guild member (which people will also get since each guild will be doing its own specific challenges).
Besides that, it would pretty much just be a white-pages of possible party members or help, and a communal bank.
The only issue is you are limited to three servers because of guesting. This is not an issue for dungeons, but would affect map clears, helping with story missions and guild challenges. My guild is on Dragonbrand. If a guild from another server were to ally, our member would need to set their guest servers appropriately.
Dragonbrand
You are limited to 3 servers a day actually. So on one day the whole alliance that wants to work together could go to one guilds server; on another it could move to another server. So long as we’re all on the same continent.
The only real limitation to an alliance between worlds would be running WvW.

ooh. That may not be so bad then. For some reason I was thinking there was a seven day cool down on guest server changes.
Dragonbrand
Or was it 2 a day? I think it might be 2 a day.
This is a great idea Loosifah and hopefully small guilds will be able to ban together to see guild missions.

I think that’s the way it used to be with free transfers.
Also, I recall reading you’re limited to three Guest uses in 24 hours when I went to check out Tarnished Coast for a little bit.
Hi all, my guild is looking for other small guilds to merge with to become a much larger guild. We are on Seas of Sorrow server and atm we have about 100 people, at peak time we have roughly 30+ people online. Our guild is mostly an Oceanic group however, we have since merged with a guild who moved from ET and is mostly NA. We’re looking for peeps of any time zone who like a fun, active environment both WvW and PvE, especially in regards to the new guild missions. Please contact IKingzI or ZBoss about joining or merging with our guild AoA.
oh nuts. Seems to be turning it into a recruitment thread instead of logistics of alliance and hypothetical execution thread. Might have a lock or move incoming…

It being moved to “Players helping Players” wouldn’t be out of place, and would still be fine.

Hello, please keep the recruitment posts out of this thread because it’s off-topic.
Feel free to create such threads in this sub-forum or use the ones which are already there, instead of recruiting in this thread.
Thank you.

Well I suppose this location works; so long as they keep the recruiting messages out.
ATTN. Sea of Sorrow guilds…. ENVY is a guild of 82 members… more active on weekends than during the week. any SoS guilds wanting to work together with other SoS guilds for new guild missions…. please pm me here or in game (Ana). I really like this idea, i’m the leader of a guild with 39 members, 2 first generals, and three officers, i only have one question, the server you’re on is it american, cause then this idea ends here for me…, since i’m in a europian server
Most of us are in the american hub, but that doesn’t mean that it ends for you here. I made this thread as kind of a meeting point for everyone interested. European guilds are welcome to use this thread to connect as well.
Well, any europian guilds herewho are liking this idea??, i’m up for it!!, i would really like to see if this works out, it would be amzing and a good to connnect socially
If I can help let me know. tecuth.2547 I know someone that use to play on one of the EU servers and is still in the guild over there. I will find out which one and pass along the name, no idea if they would be interested or not though.

That would be reallyy helpfull, europian players who like this idea are a little harder to find since a lot if them don’t speak english or are just too greedy, i personally couldn’t care les about influence amd such, i just want: guild armor(i have it), guild weapons(it’s under construction), being able to play the guildmissions with my guild, and just havw fun with my guild, that’s the main reason i started a guild anyway, to just share my love for gw2 with more people, put al that aside, if you could give me his/her player id that would be very helpfull:)
I was personally thinking about making a new guild called “Multi-Server Guild Alliance” or something to use as the hub guild. But any other guild leaders that want to join this alliance can also add me in game or on here to talk about the details.
I figured I’d make it and put all guild leaders into the category “Alliance Leader” or something.
As a leader of a small guild in Devona’s Rest server I am all for an alliance so if anyone wants to form an alliance with Champions of Old Tyria send a PM or mail to my main Orlin Unknown.

O.O That was exactly what I just posted in another thread I think you started that disappeared. I think its a great idea. Because it’s mine :p
Ill still be doing this with mine because it already has max upgrades, banks, influence and roster expansions. Others creating new guilds for alliances is a good idea also because you cant really have too many. ^.^
The only initial problem with that is the initial starting from scratch part. It may be more efficient to find someone with a dead guild and upgrades the will hub, or even just hand the guild over to you because they joined a bigger one and left theirs unmaintained. Then at least you are starting with something.
Dragonbrand
So I created the Multi Server Guild Alliance (MSGA).
Anyone who’s interested in joining it as the alliance hub contact me here or in game.
I made this a few days ago.. it is geared mostly toward dragonbrand guilds.
Zombies United is a dragonbrand alliance for small & medium sized guilds (2 to 200 people). The purpose is to enhance the dragonbrand community, and make an impact in wvw.
Alliance guilds can coordinate a variety of events across different guilds. The leaders consist of those that lead individual guilds. One Guild master from each guild will vote on decisions that might majorly impact the alliance.
We are dedicated to dragonbrand & will live and die here.
Zombies United is NOT a guild. You do not need to rep a guild called Zombies United, or rep specific guilds that coordinate events. You can rep whatever guild you want to. & you are encouraged to join the websites of Zombies United guilds to promote an added sense of unity.
Plz check out the website for more info & to sign up. Thx!!!!!
