Is it a bug or am I actually supposed to kill him by myself? It takes forever!!

Well, I have been separated from my team as well, but game crashed anyway.

My game crashed, and there are spawning hundreds of minions on me.. this is impossible.

Same. I’ve been fighting him solo, but now he teleported somewhere down.

Yeah I am fighting him solo, I hope my gear dosent break before i even get to him.

Level 18, can’t even hit the king (0 damage) and he stood upon my waypoint, and the party was split up when entering. Because of different levels maybe?

I managed to get him next to the waypoint so i spawned and start shooting but i got out to try to find people and now i cant get in with a party

same… i cant even enter on overflow loool…

When you get close to the instance, it says “Recommended Players: 5” on the pop-up.

I don’t think it is intended to be solo’d. But hey, I look forward to the first post from someone who managed it! XD

This is exacly what i love. Disappointment.

I am too having the same problem. I am unable to enter together with my party.
Sometimes it asks me if I want to join my party (when I am on Lion’s arch, away from the portal.) upon answering “yes” to that, nothing further happens.
When standing next to the portal, I can enter solo while being in a party.
Someone else in my party entered solo too, despite us being squadded :/ I hope this can be fixed soon.

It’s basically a dungeon, you have to find a group of 5 that’s if you all don’t get separated into overflow. Would have been much better if it was like a world boss where we all could pile in.

It was an easy dungeon run tho! you can probably solo it as a level 80. the mobs were tough at times but if u are a player that can solo your swarms, after that, mad king thorn actually does like next to no damage. itll take a long time tho but u can solo it.

IT was fun but u dont actually kill him so im looking forward to a finale fight

It’s an overflow issue, in normal server entrance we did 5 man dungeon

1 time event cant do if im on overflow? Excellent

yeah its pretty much impossible as a solo. im an 80 and had no problem with the little mobs, but i cant do crap to Thorn. i’ve died 3 or 4 times and he’s at like 95% health..

Well, this is a buggy mess. I couldn’t get into the same instance as my group, so eventually I decided to just see if I could solo it. Now, the mad king is sitting invulnerable on his rock, not joining the fight or doing anything.

This event is a gigantic failure. You can not even attempt it without being level 80 – which excludes tons of players including myself. Even if you are able to get into a party, the chances of you staying together is slim and thus making the event impossible to complete.

I am so disappointed in Arena Net right now.. waited for 35 minutes for The Mad King event and got nothing in return but frustration.

Spawned on my own died trying to kill the king respawn die again.

Broke every single piece of gear I had. Literally was naked by the time I got down to just two mobs plus the king. WTF?

Well, my party got split up as well, but I decided to kick his pumpkin a** all by myself then, and guess what, I killed him ^^

He isn’t that much of an challenge and his attacks are easy to avoid, only the beginning with the mobs is a bit difficult.

And well the reward for beating him is rather low, but at least there is a chest waiting for you when you beat him, guess if you’re lucky enough you can get some exos or halloween rares out of it.

this boss is ridiculously easy, went in with just me and a friend and took care of the boss and his minions without any trouble …

Entered from normal server and also got split from my party. Tried soloing it but it just takes too long.

I wish it would level you up. Makes it hard to find a group. I solo’d all of the ads earlier when I first got in. So I can contribute. But my level is weighing me down trying to find a group.

Yeah I did get one party but it split. Only 2 of us made it in.

Did it with 2 mesmers, level 80 and level 30. You can do it below 80 no problem, as long as you can get in

Soloed it with glass-cannon Warrior (FRENZYYY!!!!), zero deaths.

well i just managed to solo him, took 70 minutes. Was hoping there would be a special reward…….not sure what this 10 slot trick or treat bag is good for other than being smaller than ones i crafted

I thought it was supposed to be soloed, but turns out we’re supposed to form a group first? Why didn’t they make it like the labyrinth, where people just join up when they get in there? Cap it at five people or whatever, that sort of thing…

Formed a five man group, entered instance, found out that everyone was alone, ended up soloing him :V

Yea solo bug appearing, funny boss though, But he is kinda annoying in some ways always standing at corner cliff so I can’t use 2nd high damage skill that required movement on my character. xD

We avoided solo bug with this:
One joins, stays.
Others manually go through portal(appearing solo there), go out and hit “join now” which pops right after they leave their solo dungeon.

SOB I got in a group and we were rocking it. And the server just went down on us…

Solo. 5% left. DC. FML
