How old are the human characters?
It depends on the face. Some of the older male faces definitely look to be late 20s-early 30s and others are mid 20s. …then there are some that look like they belong to children. Though for the sake of roleplaying, my ranger is pretty much 20 years old.

Yeah my necromancer looks like shes only 22 lol
some of the female human faces look pretty aged/stressed
i agree a lot of them seem young however
20’s and 30’s mostly, there’s a couple older looking ones though. My mesmer is meant to be like 17 or 18ish, so she has a really young looking face.
Mine all look mid-twenties or so.
Based on the personal story intros I’d guess they’re supposed to be young adults. (I forget the exact wording but it’s all about finally striking out on your own for the first time and making something of yourself.) Either young or going through a mid-life crisis.
What that means exactly could vary a lot. In modern terms it could mean anything up to late 20’s, in the RL middle ages which most fantasy is based on it’d be more like 12-15. Probably something in between.
When she’s human I normally make my main character look like she’s about 19-22 because that seems to fit most games – old enough that she’s got some experience in her chosen profession and is just getting settled into adult life before the inevitable “unexpected” turn of events that changes her life forever, but young enough that she doesn’t yet have a husband or children or other ties to keep her from charging off to save the world. (She’s normally a half-elf if I have the choice and sometimes a full elf so this number can jump as high as several hundred or ever 1000 years old depending on the relevant lore.)

Physically speaking, the smallest human size allows you to create a character of equal height with a (this may be a case of lost in translation) “fillette” in french, meaning a 12-14 years old.
This being said, even the smallest body structure still sports a decent size of breast, unlike the “fillette” avatar.
As for the maximum age, I’d tend to say it could go as far as around the eighties, especially with a white hair male provided a wrinkly face such as Pete’s is used.
Anyhow, I’d tend to say the character creation allows a range of 12-89 years old.
That being said, it’s just an approximation.
On character creation I find all humans look about twelve years old, but in game they do look somewhat older. Comparatively, norn look a lot older on character creation than they do in-game. I’d say around 20-25-ish for humans, the voices sound a bit more mature than an initial glance would hint at.
branded creature, icebrood creature, war war war.
mel: Soft kitty.
My Ele is supposed to be 40 as her RP states she has had twins and one surviving at the age of 20 atm (my guardian is the twin daughter of the fraternal twins). If you see her image in the Then and Now, thread, she looks very young for her age, yet its the only one of 2-3 Canthan faces I could get without spending hours on the character creation.
By the voice acting for females, they sound much older than 20s. Maybe mid 30’s
I imagine my Human Noble Mesmer is about 22 -25 years old. She’s obviously well-established enough to be able to run a household and (presumably) several business interests as well, although I imagine she has a sizeable staff inherited from her parents that help her in this task.
somewhere between 20-30 years old depending on which face they get.
Mines is 19 years old by the name of Beariie.
