I’m not sure when, but at some point my character’s hair has stopped animating properly. I’m fairly sure before that it flowed around just like the other long hair styles in the game. Now it just seems glued from the shoulders down.

When she moves her hair, it causes the hair texture to stretch awkwardly, as in the screenshot attached.

This is pretty lame, since I picked the long hair option just because I loved the swaying animations in this game. Anyone else have the same issue?

You can check on Queen Jennah who has the same hair.

Have you tried a different head item? Maybe the animation is messed up from a helmet/mask/whatever?

Yeah, I’ve tried different helmets, no helmet, changing animation etc. No dice.

It happens to NPCs as well, so it’s not even a character specific problem. Like I said, Queen Jennah’s hair is identical and also does this.

Check your graphic settings perhaps in the Animation part?

Have done. Doesn’t seem to change anything, which makes me wonder if the setting itself is broken.

Oddly enough everyone else’s hair floats around just fine, just not this particular hairstyle. Do you guys notice the same on npcs?

Im running all graphics settings on full including animation on high.For some reason after the update the hair is frozen and the animation of the hair hardly moves as much while running or attacking.Its strange because it worked fine in the beta and in the final version its as if the hair had been downgraded or missing some animation for movement.The other female long hairstyles animation movement works well and the bug is for only this human female hairstyle.

Yeah, it does seem like they’ve accidentally broke it.

I’ve submitted a bug report about it so hopefully it gets a fix soon.

Still no fix in latest patch. Please look into this Anet!

Actually, the latest patch was when they broke this hairstyle’s animation, and only this hairstyle. I also noticed, that at the same time, they animated the Twilight Arbor exotic light armor, on the female models (Human, Sylvari, Norn), as of the patch this past Thursday, in preparation for Lost Shores.

Hair animation (tessellation) would be cool to have. See Alice…
I know, I know.. lower end computers/graphic cards won’t play with this very well .. etc.
Hair has been my pet peeve with MMO’s…

Bump for hair justice. Don’t make me get a hair makeover just to have hair not made of straw, Anet. That’s lame. :\

report it in game with the screenshot, and email them.

That’s… weird. I have the same hairstyle on one of my characters, and it’s never done that. I haven’t played said character for a while though, so maybe it broke in a recent patch?
