Are there any plans by ArenaNet to change the horrible, nonsense Squeak noise that female humans make when attacking? So far I’ve found it on EVERY Greatsword attack, on Hammer, it’s on skill 2-5, but on skill 1 you have the very normal grunt sound. I’ve also noticed that my Thief does it when using Heartseeker but no other skills that I’m aware of. All the rest of the attacks have the normal, appropriate combat grunt/shout noises but those that I’ve listed there. Can we PLEASE get rid of the squeak and just switch them over to the normal grunt/combat noises that the rest of the skills use. No other race in the game has ridiculous squeaks like this on some of their weapons.

I couldn’t agree more. I don’t feel like an intimidating thief when I’m squeaking on HS. Guardian/Warrior GS is even worse.

It’s the single most annoying sound in the game, and I can’t believe they added it in, when they have perfectly normal and acceptable combat sounds with most weapons, then just decided to throw in the squeak with 2h and on Heartseeker. My warrior was in her 40’s before trying out 2h weapons which was what I was going to end up with on her, and I wasn’t going to reroll her for a 5th time. It’s kind of infuriating.

Agreed, the rifle 5 squeek on my engineer is the reason I mute the game.

I feel like my warrior sound like guinea pig every 2 attacks when I use my greatsword.

It’s so bad, I notice it on other female humans around me during combat, even though I’ve chosen to not use them. Would like an acknowledgement of this at least from ArenaNet, curious to know what their thinking on this was.

This squeak is absolutely horrible, please remove it.

And as I already said in similar topic, it would be great to have some modest/kind Human female voicing package. It’s really hard to play proper hero, when she says “Epic Win, Population: Me” every 30 minutes or so.

Yeah, I wish there were a few options to change the voice responses based on personality, or better yet, to just turn them off.

The human responses don’t suit my character at all. It works better when I imagine that she’s being sarcastic, but I’d rather have something suited to the character or no voice at all.

It is honestly the only reason I have not made a human yet. I just wish they would have fixed it by now, I simply can not believe it would intentional and I do not think it would be a difficult fix.

How does it feel knowing you have such terrible tastes? I kid, I kid. But in all honesty, to each their own, but I certainly can’t stand it. It’d be nice if they’d give us a voice option since it seems a majority of us can’t stand the squeak.

Majority on forums, you mean.
Hell, man, I even pick up every single boulders to hear those.
If I wanted to hear rawrs, I’d picked norn. :-P

But to each his own. Won’t hurt anyone if they add voice sets like in aion.

Ya, would be nice, but I’m not seeing ArenaNet putting forth a whole lot of effort to try and fix things like this, considering there are bugs which have been around since closed beta that still persist, and numerous bugs/issues that arise with every change they make to the game, and they seemingly do not even watch the race forums.

Honestly I’d be perfectly fine if someone released a mod or something to remove that squeek……….but it seems no one has.

Made a thread in the audio forum, maybe it will get noticed there.

I can’t imagine how annoying it must be playing on a human female character with this squeak sound. It’s already annoying enough hearing it from nearby players but having my character ALWAYS making it would drive me nuts.

Just wondering, because as a real-life female, I can vouch that we don’t necessarily make dainty and delicate sounds when we’re engaging in physical activity or when we get hurt. Women are capable of grunting and bellowing too.

Undubitably true. But it doesn’t stop me from laughing every time I watch Serena Williams or some other top-seeded female tennis player play a match. It just sounds so hilarious! I’d rather have the squeaks for my female Mesmer.

Honestly when I hear the squeek it makes me think a puppy is being punched.

Not something I would call cute.

When my girlfriend first heard that noise she couldn’t see the screen and thought I was watching animated adult videos. Its just not the right sound for a warrior lol
