Rate the Humans name above you
6.5/10 doesn’t sound very original, but the “B.” leaves some mystery
My human elementalist name is right there
<—
As it was in Guild Wars 1 when I made it up as a 13 year old :P
3/10, sorry but is sounds like the prefix to an object, not a persons name. Dragonic Elemental Boots, for instance.
My Humans name is Sodijen (pronounced soda-jen). I used the old British method of not having a last name for royalty. No, he’s not royal, but his ancestor is none other than the famed and heroic Narcissisticus Moe (my GW1 main).
So his full title would be Sodijen, of the house of Moe.
6/10 I like the name, and the connection with his ancestory
Buff Badwell. A lean, mean killing machine. Been using that name for a long time in many different games ever since watching WWF as a kid.
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
6/10
Solid name but i don’t personally like buff :P
As for my main human female elementalist is called Lupe Shade – Lupe as it was the name of my favourite char from a book, and shade because it was my handle (allbeit unorigional) on a couple of games before. i feel it has a nice ring to it.
Also have
-ranger Loschek Shade
-Thief Fili Shade
-Guardian Evelyn Shade
-annd mesmer Eisenheim shade
All my toons have names from my favorite protagonists/charactors in books/films.
May our BL break all foes. Fear our babou!
Gunnars Hold Represent! <3
Ranger: 9/10 – I like it
Thief: 7/10 – Good, but the two names together don’t fit the best I think
Guardian: 10/10 – I like it
Mesmer: 10/10 – Awesome
Mine (I am bad coming up with last names):
Guardian: Sir Helvidius
Warrior: Sir Beregond
Mesmer: Lady Yavanna
“Remember The Searing. We never forget, and never forgive.” – Family Motto
Guard: 9/10
Warr: 7/10
Mes: 8/10
Mine:
Warrior: Sariem Bladesbane
Ranger Dlae Shadestriker
Warrior: 9/10 Nice one.
Ranger: 7/10 I feel like “Shadowstriker” would be better.
Mine:
Ranger: Eälandûr Alfirin, it has some Elvish meaning behind it ; )
9/10 – I realy liked it!! It sounds awesome, and kinda fits a ranger. But I think an elvish sort of name would fit a Sylvari better, imho.
Here are mine:
Ranger: Lilith Von Schatten
Thief: Ludwig Von Schatten (yes, they are siblings XD)
Guardian: Vittoria D’Alessio (yup, descending from Saul D’Alessio)
9/10 all names, really like to make in games siblings too (so much fun RP wise xD)
My Human:
Wonderland Madness
(Mesmer and may not be a real name but more of a nickname, quite fitting for class which dabbles in illusions.(IMO))
p.s. No it was not taken from Alice in Wonderland.
7/10
Not a real name but definitely a fitting nickname for a mesmer :P!
My human guardians’ name is Everest Kaine (Kaine pronounced ‘cane’)
I liked it because it flowed nicely, as well as Everest could represent rising to the top like mount Everest, hehe c:
10/10 for Everest Kaine. I really like it. I agree it flows very well, and I really like your reason for choosing Everest. I also like that it’s not a usual type of name but I can still relate it to the human race.
I’ve re-named some of my lovely human ladies and made a few new ones.
Warrior: Rose Faron
Thief: Rose Aimee Crouzet
Necro: Rose Dalila Ranae
Guardian: Rose Celeste Frost
Mesmer: Rose Boleyn
I like French/English/noble-type names. I wanted Rose in all of them. My necro was originally Dalila Darkness and she was my first ever character so I didn’t want to lose the Dalila name. Ranae means “resurrected” in French, which I thought very fitting for a necro. My warrior used to be named Rose Evilslayer, but I’ve matured (in relation to GW2) since I made her
I like some better than others, but my favorites of the names you presented are the Warrior’s and the Necro’s. Rose Faron has a simple yet potent feel to it that suits the “All-Business” combat style of the warrior. It also feels a bit Irish/Scottish to me, which is also fitting in my opinion. I love the French meaning of the Necro’s last name. It’s a beautiful real-world tie-in that fits the Necromancer class wonderfully. It would have been absolutely PERFECT if the middle name was Dahlia (after the Black Dahlia Murder), but the personal significance of Dalila is very nice too. 9/10 for both
As for the others, I scored them 7/10, 5/10, and 7/10 for the Thief, Guardian, and Mesmer respectively.
Thief: Aaron Nightingale
Aaron is my name in RL, which really lets me connect with the character more easily than I normally do. I chose the last name “Nightingale” because of the way in which the male Nightingale sings at night and the poetic ways in which the Nightingale’s song has been used in literature throughout the years.
Aaron Nightingale … Pretty good fantasy human name, and fits the thief theme. Nothing that would stand out though. 7/10
Dacre Sullic
I like french sounding names. This one is actually my favourite. It belongs to my ex-knight type character I’ve been playing across different role-playing games. It’s slowly becoming a tradition of mine to make his incarnation in every RPG I play.
Dacre Sullic, has an interesting ring to it. 8/10
Warrior: Lucina Eisenwaltz
Mesmer: Asta Von Erwin
Warriors name is from Fire Emblem Awakening, I really like german/german sounding words so I tend to put then into names whenever I can.
Lucina 11/10 simply because it’s from Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Asta Von Erwin 8/10. Pretty creative.
Guardian: Valderignis, Valde meaning Powerful, or Intensely in Lating, and Ignis meaning fire. So pretty much Powerful Fire.
Valderignis – 4/10, doesn’t sound very human.
James Osric, named after Captain Osric from GW1.
7/10 Something about that name… I like it ^^ Never played GW1 though :S
Mesmer: Illusoriya
Guardian: Xeiraa
Necromancer: Lairencia
7/10
7/10
8/10
The names are cool but I just can’t see them being used by a human from kryta ^^
Warrior: Bjolan Hafson
Thief: Jingyy
Warrior: 9/10 (is it me or it sounds more like Norn name?)
Thief: 8/10 (like an assassin from Cantha)
Guardian: Wurst Eurovision
(for fans of Eurovision 2014)
Wurst Eurovision: 10/10 simply because I think about curry wurst when I hear it (and I’m bloody hungry right now..) AND GO CONCHITA!!!!
Here’s my characters:
Guardian: Zephyr Styx
Mesmer: Eve Styx
Even tho you might think they are relatives, they are not. They are part of the Styx clan which holds members of other races aswell. Zephyr is the co-founder of the Styx clan. The first time they met, Zephyr saved Eve from a group of Centaurs and ever since, Eve has been Zephyr’s right hand.
Edit: I was thinking about the river Styx from greek mythologi Why I chose the name Styx is because I like greek mythologi alot and the concept with the Styx clan is that just like the river Styx, the clan is what will bring you to the afterlife
(edited by Styx.8537)
8/10 for both names, because I like the lore behind the names. When I see ‘Styx’, though, I automatically think greek mythology, so there’s some loss of immersion inherent in the name…though that’s probably just me. Still, good names!
I don’t pick my character names to fit their professions specifically, like it seems many people in previous posts do (nothing wrong with that, mind!) My characters are mostly versions of existing characters I’ve written in stories or RP campaigns.
I have Silas Lews, human noble in the Priory, kind of a whimsical inventor sort (he’s my engineer). Anne Fry, a dedicated tactician in the Vigil and very much more the soldier archetype (she’s my ranger). My third human is Delgado Katsulas, a field agent for the Whispers with Grenth as his patron deity (my necromancer, descended from my Ascalonian necromancer in GW1).
9/10: I love the name Silas, makes me think of an engineer, tinkerer, and inventor.
7/10: It is just my opinion peronally but I have trouble seeing a tactician named Anne
5/10: Sorry for this last one but the name delgado makes me think of a cowboy from the old west and not a necromancer…
My Assassin (yes, assassin, not thief) is named Aria Crimsonblade. She is about as beast mode as they come for the killers in the Order. Not one of her targets ever escaped to tell the tale of a single person decimating an army to get to the target.
9/10
Realy like the first name, Aria. Crimsonblade sounds more like a title to me (maybe it is) and it fits great with beeing an assassin.
Mine is:
Zandra Zvift
Female elementalist that grew up on the streets and after she killed Zhaitan she settled down in eastern commons near the dead end-pub. Where she have spent many long nights with her friends.
Good luck and may the six watch over you
My warrior, Caliga Tomahawk, leader of the “Tomahawk Mercenaries”. Half Canthan and half Ascalonian. He’s an axe warrior.
Not bad. 9/10
Here’s my Canthan mesmer, Chihaya Horikita. The name comes from combining the names Chihaya Kisaragi (Idolm@ster) and actress Maki Horikita
I’d be afraid to meet you in person. Fumbling between first and last name. You would simply be ms. Haha.
My female Ele is Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy, Im not big fan of nameing characters after videogames but relatvely I think this fits to an ele. 5/10
Female guardian of the As Stars We Belong guild:
Star Protector
Female staff elementalisy:
Zandra Zvift
Good luck and may the six watch over you
Star Protector – 7/10, It’s a cute name for a guardian, especially as it ties into the guild you’re in :)
Zandra Zvit – 4/10. Seems a cool name, but not my personal taste >.<
Necromancer – Maleficents Shadow
Elementalist – Ellie Mentallist (lol)
Arrow To The Knees – 80 Norn
Necromancer – Maleficents Shadow | 6/10 It does fit the character but it’s not really a name.
Elementalist – Ellie Mentallist (lol) | 10/10 only because one of my friends with the name “Ali” is our “ali-mentalist” when he’s on his elementalist and “ellie-mentalist” sounds the same.
My Human Guardians name is “Susan Ryneheart”
Officer of Leaping Knights [JUMP] (Fissure of Woe)
Eh, 1, I don’t really like it at all tbh.
Ghost Van Pelt, elementalist.
5/10, ‘Ghost’ suits a necro better, ‘Van Pelt’ eh it’s ok not really the best
Male Necromancer: Silus Deathbane
Female Mesmer: Esmeralda Memento
Pretty nice names. Deathbane is good for Necro and Momento is perfect for Mesmer. 7/10
My character is half Elonian and half Cantha(nian?) but she was found and adopted by Deborah (sister in Human story line) parents. She’s Warrior and her name is Aphrodisy.
I like it. 7/10
Mine is a noble engineer called Darion Alfort.
9/10. sounds cool.
Alessia Rohnson-female commoner necro (with a head canon of her having a slight crush on Petra).
(edited by drkonus.5084)
8/10, it does have a “commoner” sound to it, but it also sounds gothic which clearly suits the profession.
I’ll have to post my Ranger’s name as I put a lot of thought in to naming her as well as the lore behind her.
Tsula Amayi – Tsu la meaning “fox” and Amayi meaning “in the water” in Cherokee.
Although Cherokee is obviously not in Guild Wars 2, I decided to imagine the Hylek as a similar race. And, in the lore I’ve written for my Ranger, she was adopted, named and raised by the Hylek who found her in the arms of her dying savior at a riverside. Seeing her as a beautiful red-skinned infant, the Hylek thought “fox in the water” would be a suitable name.

Big fan of the influenced you used, Hylek are awesome 8/10
Sounds like he is from the Balkan Peninsula. Although the latter sounds cool, I didn’t like first name.
7.5/10
My ele: Chelsea Scarlett
8.5/10 I like Chelsea, and Scarlett. Loved the double “t” xD
I only said the name of one of my chars, but I have 4 :v
Ethan Silvershield(mesmer) and Darion Silvershield(guardian). They’re noble brothers, and their family is rich due to several silver mines they own. Their grandfather(lucky ascalonian) “discovered” most of them, and since then, they’ve only become richer (kinda explaining their surname :v).
Acaius is my fourth. He’s 23, and is named after a sylvari, friend of his father.
8/10. Great backstory, cool roleplay elements, but the name Silvershield sounds a little Norn doesn’kitten
ValderIgnis, Greater Flame in latin, is the name of my Human Guardian. Blessed by Balthazar he crushes his foes under the weight of his Greatsword, and protects his foes with the powerful shield Kryta’s Embrace. His weapons are gifts from Balthazar, the Greatsword being ascended and godlike, the Shield a gift to help him face down the legions hidden away in the Tower of Nightmares (dropped for me there).
5/10 Little bit hard to say and Greater Flame seemes like miss typed or translated.
Holaadian, warrior old wvw SFR commander. Hola for short.
How did i got it I stole it from Childhood friend when we played Baldur’s Gate 2 at summer like 14 years ago.
7/10 for the full name sounds pretty exotic. I don’t quite like the nickname Hola though..
My mesmer Queen Of The Moors named after this movie trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j61zHvt3so
Deaths Fear [Fear] / The Hardcore Caravan [HC]
Forum Warrior: Black Belt in Ninja Edits

9/10 for getting so many that weren’t taken already xD
Johnathan Thane- Thief – [Street Rat background]
Lucas Drakesbane- Necromancer [Nobility background]
6/10
My male nec: Carl Vesper
Carl is short name for Carlomy..and Carlomy is my first character——male sylvari warrior.
Vesper sounds like nearby death.and dark, i think it’s good for a nec
Not bad, Carl Vesper, for a Necro it suits quite well, I give it a 8/10.
Mine is a large nosed human thief called Edmond Cavalieri, he was raised as a street rat, but trough cunning, charisma and a love for poetry, he has climbed among the wealthy in Divinity’s Reach, seducing the rich women in order to take their wealth and distribute it among the poor of the city…. (loved by the wives and daughters and hated by their husbands and fathers respectively) Cavalieri means gentleman in Italian… but is not sure if it’s his real family name or just a nickname, that of course he choose himself. I took for inspiration Cyrano the Bergerac and Giacomo Casanova for his personality
(edited by Tazera.4739)
Cavalieri is a great last name. Also Casanova as inspiration is also a wonderful choice and your thief seems somewhat Robin Hood-esque. And another +1 for being a fellow human thief.
Overall, 9/10. Loved the backstory.
My name is Melody Lauffeuer. A beautiful blonde deadly human thief (so everything I am not).
Lauffeuer means ‘wildfire’ in German. Chosen by my partner. A surname that all our characters share. We see wildfire as initially devastating and destructive, however, it paves the way for new life and growth.
Majority of my characters are human. Other names being Ruby, Ivy & Anya.
Officer of Midway [mWAY] – Dragonbrand
~Veni Vivi Dormivi~
(edited by Luna Peregrina.5708)
9/10 I really like Melody Lauffeuer, it fits very fantastically together.
Telos Novum – Engineer
Discovering one’s purpose is not as easy as it might originally appear.
8/10 – Really fits an engineer
Bruno Valette, a half Ascalonian and half Krytan necromancer. I designed him to look like an Assassin gent (once I get a screenshot, I’ll post it).
He’s supposed to be upper class, so I chose a name that I feel reflected that.

9/10 sounds good and fits with the way you describe him.
Verdiux XIV – a royal Guardian of Divinity’s reach that chose to go a different road as simply guarding the Queen’s throne room
