Anyone else get to a new platform and find that the chest has been opened already? (I know that you only open each once.)

Also Aetherblade Airship events stuck and not spawning mobs, hence halting the event or access to the platform.

I don’t mind testing your game, but I am not on your payroll.

Anyone else getting these oddities?

Ok, but that was only the second one I got to. I’m fine with that as long as there are more than the 30 needed to complete the achievement.

Mine was opened when I arrived at the tower after completing the quest required to open the gate. And it didn’t count towards the achievement.

Here’s what happened to me if it helps:

Did the balloon event north of the Krytan WP. Didn’t loot the chest because I didn’t know it was up there. Did the balloon event in Altar Brook Vale and saw the chest and got it. Went back to the balloon north of Krytan WP and saw the gate open, went up to the top and the chest was open. Decided to do the whole escort event again and it was still open. Can’t loot that chest now.

I only have 1/5 of the Balloon Tower Tourist achievement.

I just got to one of the balloons in Queensdale, but the gates are closed. Yet there’s nothing going on. No pirate ship or anything…

EDIT: Disregard that. Apparently the gates were closed because of some stupid emissary

This is the exact chest I had the problem with, I went a did the champ event to open the gate and when I went back for the chest it was open. (I’m on Anvil Rock.)

I would like to add that the event (aetherblade morale) for the balloon near the Quaggonkeep Channel POI in Gendarren Fields on Borlis Pass has been bugged for a while now.

The balloon tower stays locked and the even stays with about ~25% morale left, but no pirates will spawn.

Also, As the others have said in this thread, I have had the same issue with a tower in Kessex Hills and Queensdale.

Same here: did a ballon event in Queensdale without looting the chest, moved to another ballon quest and looted the chest; returned to the other ballon to get the chest and it was already open. Now the whole chest/achievment is bugged

Slightly different sequence of actions here, with same results:

Went to the western balloon tower in Queensdale, ran to top, looted chest, no problem. No event in evidence.

Went to second balloon tower, north of Keytan waypoint, talked to pilot. He pointed me to the pirate shooting event. Ran there, but it had been completed by others before I arrived. A chest icon was evident on the minimap, presumably for this event, but I couldn’t see the chest, as I had not participated in the event.

Went back to the tower, and climbed it. The chest was already in its “opened” state, with no means of interacting with it. My achievement still showed 1/30 towers, however.

I have returned to that tower a couple of times, but the chest remains in the open state, and I see no way to gain credit for interacting with it.

Gate was open, went up and opened a chest without doing the mini-event, no credit for that balloon.

This is the bug I had: I did the tower event (queensdale), but pressed “travel to Divinity’s reach” by mistake. when I got back, I could no longer loot the chest. So I missed one chest altogether.

I’ve had the same problem. The second tower I went to, I traveled by mistake (instead of interacting with the chest), returned, did escort quest, and the chest was open and I got no credit for it . I don’t want to do any more towers until I know there’s a fix.

I had a similar problem. the first tower that i went i traveled by mistake because the interaction radius of the travel is wider than the chest so i was near the chest when pressed F and did travel instead open the chest. i went back but this time i could open the chest normally, but at the second tower in the same region when i got there, in the top of the tower, the chest was already open and i can’t interact with it. after that i did 4 more towers without any problem.

I ran into chests that were already open as well but they DID count towards the achievement for me even though I had never looted them and could not loot them.

with all the bugs in the “lower level” or “starter” maps, i think they’re trying to tell us something. ; ))

I wonder if that’s the problem? I “did” 4 towers in Queensdale and in Kessex Hills and got 3/30 towers for the achievement for one of those I just walked right up the tower. The event must have just been over but I didn’t participate in it.

Yah, I’ve done four zones worth of balloons, and I’ve got 7/30. I’m pretty sure it was one of the two in Queensdale that is bugged.
Heck, I’ve gone back and redone all eight, just to be sure, and I’m still at 7/30.

I just did both at Queensdale fine on Devona’s Rest. I’m currently at 5 and I haven’t encountered these bugs yet.

Same problem here (Piken Square, EU). Krytan Waypoint again. I was at maybe 20 towers completed at the time I first reached it. Problem persists after the latest patch (and I still haven’t completed the achievement – as it happens, that would have been my 30 if it had worked). I’ve triggered tower access at least five times now, with the same result each time – chest already open, “F” hot key option is to travel.

I’ve also taken three unintended balloon rides to Divinity’s Reach by consequence, but that’s by the by.

I’m at 27/30 and this is happening to every chest I try now. When I’m at the bottom the chest can be clicked on and the name appears when I hold ctrl, but by the time I get to the top it’s open, I can’t click it, and the name is gone; all as if I had already looted it.

This is the only Queen’s Jubilee achievement I have left, and it’s upsetting that I can’t finish it. I decided to finish the achievement to cool off because I was so frustrated with being unable to defeat Liadri even while being able to consistently get to where I could damage her… and then this.

Krytan Waypoint, Gandara server.

I did an escort quest for the balloon west of Altar Brook, opened the chest fine. Went to the balloon north of Krytan Waypoint, and the gate was open, the chest was open, and couldn’t loot. Talked to the pilot, and that kicked off an escort quest. Completed the escort quest. Went up to the chest and it was still open, tried to loot and ended up traveling to DR.

This is the first time I’ve done any of the balloons.

I managed to open only 1 chest in Kryta, rest, even if I did all escorts events few times, stays open all the time.

Same issue, Balloon Tower north of Krytan Waypoint has a chest that’s already open but I’ve only looted (and have credit for) one near Crossing Waypoint, the other Queensdale one.

Just checked up on the one near Altar Brook Trading Post in Queensdale.

From afar the chest was closed and could be interacted with. However, the gates were closed because an emissary was on its way. Did the escort and the gates opened.

Everyone rushed up and I heard the sound of a chest opening. But apparently I wasn’t allowed to loot the chest. So apparently the bug is that only the first person gets credit and everyone else does not.

I’ve had this happen 4 times now, all on different towers. I’m only 8/10 for the achievement and on the last one, I saw exactly what happened. Aveneo is right. The first person to the top got to open the chest and then it was open for me as well. I got no loot or achievement progress. The chest also stays open afterwards through multiple events so I can’t even loot it later on.

I had this bug yesterday; got to the top of a tower in Queensdale with some other players, the chest opened but I got no loot or advancement in the achievement. It was my 6th tower but I’m still at 5.

This appears to be the same bug as the dragon pinata from the Dragon Bash event; if you loot the chest at the same time as another player, you may not get the loot and won’t get progress on the achievement.

6 times this has happened now. Making this achievement pretty kitten annoying. Did the looking into it thing ever even happen???

Every single chest I have opened previously is now open, with no looting possible. Currently at 5 towers. I didn’t play at all yesterday, and they’re still open today from Tuesday.

Have the exact same problem in the balloon north of krytan waypoint. 29/30 and that’s the only one missing. Server is SFR even though I don’t thinks it’s a server problem.

from what i know there are more then 30 as i had 1 that where opened without me getting loot or ahviemnt count for it but i still manged to get 30 platforms

There are a total of 44 Balloon Towers across the entire world, so if you get a few bugged, it’s still possible to complete the achievement. I agree that the bug is extremely annoying, however. To be on the safe side, after a balloon tower is cleared, wait a few moments for players to open the chest before opening it yourself so that no one else is doing it at the same time as you.

As far as pirates – if talking about the ones from the emissary quest, backtrack – sometimes one or two wind up earlier in the emissary’s path.

Dunno is causative or just correlative, but it appears if two waves spawn at a point along the path, the second wave can get delayed/lagged/constipated long enough for cletus to walk farther forward on his path, and you can leave a couple behind ya.

SR also buged 7/30 till now doesnt work for 2 days

I am stuck at 15/30. No matter what chest I try now or in what area, the chest is always opened.

Okay I logged out for an hour or so and relogged and the problem was solved.

19/20 all chests I travel to are open please get this fixed! Father in law is having same issue with him travelling all over the map.

This is the method that has been working for me:
—-When you get to a balloon, do not go up the stairs if the door is open.
Instead, wait for the door to close and do the next event.

If an event is in progress you can talk to the balloon guy and help finish the event but DO NOT go up the stairs for that one either.

Instead, make sure that you are there when the door to the balloon stairs closes, you talk to the balloon guy, you complete the event, and then run back to get the chest.

That way is most consistent in giving me credit for balloon events. However, you won’t always get loot from the chest. I have gotten loot from about half the chests. The others have been empty, even though they were unopened.

There are two instances in which the chest can bug itself.
1. If you are too close to the chest when someone else opens it, and you press f, you are transported to divinity’s reach, the chest gets marked as open, and the tower doesn’t count for achievement (ever, since it is also marked as already visited somehow).
2. The same happens if during chest opening animation (but before you get the loot) you get kicked out due to new event starting. Chest marked as opened, achievement does not increase.

Fortunately there are more than 30 towers in the world, so i was able to finish it somehow, but if someone encounters more problems than i did it might prevent them from acquiring that achievement.

Edit: adding to the post above: first advice is very important. Do not risk getting kicked off when too close to the chest. Better wait those few minutes and be sure.

Second is not really necessary – if you participated in the event, you can go for the chest – just do not take too long.

There is however a third advice i’d add: When going for the chest, let the other people get there first. do not rush, wait halfway up the tower, at least one level of stair behind the crowd. Don’t be too close, when they will be opening the chest. Only when they are finished should you go open it yourself.

Had at least 2 bugged towers so far. Queensdale and Gendarran Fields. I’m now using a checklist I made from the wiki info. I know I had bugged towers yesterday but can’t remember where they were. These “tips” people are posting do not do anything to improve success rate.

And saying, “but you only need 30” does not help those of us without 100% map completion.

Very disappointed that these weren’t fixed in today’s update.

is happening to my entire household out in queensdale. im hopeing there arent other chests that are doing it as well

I’m now showing credit for towers that were bugged. With the exception of Queensdale. I re-visited areas where I had trouble earlier and yesterday and I’m at least getting credit for the achievement. I’m not so worried about the loot. Just want credit for the achievement.
