I haven’t slain Liadri, but neither has she slain me. Now I feel left out, so I’m creating my own club.

So here’s a club for the rest of us losers who, idk, can’t get past Salazan, or something.

Grrrrr, Salazan. /me shakes fist

I haven’t done any Gauntlet at all yet. Does that still count?

Fire up the Hyperbowl ma, we’re going to town!

Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

Salazan is a serious pain in the butt… but after watching the video on Dulfy I was finally able to beat him.

Now, I am stuck trying to kill 4 pirates at once… yikes!

I’m stuck at Salazan atm, tbh I’m amazed that I got there in the first place

I made the mistake of reading stuff on the forums here and it scared me 0_0.
I have to psych myself up to get into the arena but it is not too bad once I do.

Now if I can make it to t3 I will be ecstatic.

I’ve not even tried it. I can see how it’s a fun thing to try and have nothing against people who do it, try it etc etc but to me it’s teaching players the wrong message.

Namely the focus on solo play, giving credence to the thought that because someone is a good solo player they are suddenly the most, bestest, least noobie player out there and that solo skills are more important than team skills and synegy

I’d have much rather this be a group activity, they used it to teach group play, find ways to show there’s more to the game than wholescale DPS, timewarps and zerkers, found ways around the dodge>all mechanic and use it to showcase the possibilities the combat mechanics can create really rewarding team play, of how combo synergies can work, needing to work on stuff as a team to get it done in time.

Basically use it to show off and test various dungeon/fractal boss or mob mechanics to see what works and what doesn’t in a single focused place

I enjoy seeing the team lupi speed kills, more than the solo lupi kills. Because the team ones require co-ordination, a dovetailing of skills and traits between multiple players. In short IMHO a greater understanding of the game, not just a single profession

If I wanted to show off my gamerz skillz in a solo game i’d do it in a single player game.

Alas what this is teaching players is that group play is irrelevant, instilling an over -confidence (perhaps arrogance) that because they can do XYZ solo they don’t need to show any regard for the team they are in.

As I said, I can appreciate the fun and challenge people are having doing it but to Anet I would say Wrong lesson, wrong message for an MMO

Not really, MMOs should have different types of content.

While I see your point, I do not agree.
This game already has group content- dungeons that I and many players do not do for various reasons.

It is good to see some really hard content that can be done solo- especially because in all the threads where people ask for solo content there are always some bright spark calling solo content easy mode.

Well the arena is not easy mode- it is very hard.
I appreciate that and I am stuck as I said- that does not mean I do not enjoy it.
I love it, I just don’t have the skill some others have and that is ok- I spend all my time in game lollygagging anyway.

An interesting side effect of fighting in the arena was that for the first time last night since back in Sept, I ran a dungeon- with a pug no less.
On a whim because I felt, after getting my kitten kicked in the gauntlet, how bad can it be.
It was not bad at all, it was fun and I will do it again

I haven’t even tried once and am deleting my tickets as soon as I get them.

I am not a fan of these arena-style games, solo or with a group. Thankfully, they did it right this time and separated the arena-style achievements from the gaming achievements and I’m not required to do any of those arenas…

Im not planning to do any of those. I have no inclination or desire to constantly change the builds for any of my level 80s.

I do that enough for regular PVP and that is enough for me.

Its come to the point where I am no longer addicted to getting every single achievement. I have over 6500 points and I am fine with that.

For those that have done them all. I salute you!!

No desire to do any of the cage fighting, but I do watch it, I’m just used to playing as a team and would be shouting across the map for my teammate to rez XD.

Congrats to those that manage it, and to those that are trying, I wish I could give you my tickets.

Well I’ve technically seen her, but only twice to have a look at the battle briefly. It was painfully obvious I was never going to beat her, since I don’t find it fun to bang my head against a wall for hours on end, not to mention the fact there’s so many bugs around when it comes to the Gauntlet.

That said, I did -just- about manage to get enough achievements done for the meta, which is -way- more than I thought I’d manage, thankfully it’s not quite as tough as the Brawler’s Guild in WoW.

Can’t seem to get past Chomper and Struger. But I am happy with how far I got. I’ve seen quite a few people fight Liadri and they make it look easy. lol.

Really don’t think I’ll bother trying to get any farther just because, I’d rather spend my time in-game doing other stuff.

I do enjoy the gauntlet though. But it definitely has some issues.

am qualify to be in this club. Never been in the ring with Liadri but had the pleasure of watching others fighting her. Had a blast just being a spectator though.
