Other players are a hindrance now
This is the first time in GW2 that other players are a hindrance in the game. When I farm Tyre Ragemaw with 30 sec rotation with my warrior, even one other player at the same arena ruins the farm. Anet should have made queen’s gauntlet a personal instance. I have loved it in this game that other players have not hampered my gameplay but this time Anet failed in their goal to avoid that. I hope they learn from this. I don’t like hating it when I see other players.
I hear you and face the same problem with Ragemaw. Here’s a douchy solution. Just enter the arena and wait for your skills to recharge. He won’t attack till you do.
Now you understand why i don’t like rezzing people who die , i jump in and start farming Dunwell 15 seconds later 3-4 guys pop up and start loitering , more times than not they queue …and it takes them days to die or (rarely) kill the boss chosen.

It’s probably inevitable. When it started out people were much nicer and more polite. But when you design the game in such a way that helping others hinders your own goals, it’s hardly surprising that people don’t cooperate.

This seems to be the case mostly for the farmers and exploiter’s. The rest of the community seems nice enough overall even with a few bad apples.

So, the point is..?… screw other players who are simply trying to play and enjoy the new content? You would like your own private little instance so you can be even greedier and exploit faster?
Interesting….
Good thing Im not in charge, i would make the achievement a one shot deal, non repeatable… problem solved :P

Off topic, but you don’t use signet of rage etc on Tyre? Otherwise it would be more than 30 secs…
And here I thought reading at the title that normal players trying to earn their achievements would have to wait longer to get their chances because farming’s now more widespread [valid], but no, I had to stumble upon a baddie that can’t even handle a T3 farm let alone do it fast, complain that other players that are trying to get their event content (incl mini) are bothering his farming efficiency. Yak dung.
Man I do T3 5G for about 600tickets a day but I still love to /cheer , give tips, revive others, take time to alt tab to update threads for those with problems. Go buy some plot in Alaska and dig your gold in total isolation of hummanity.
You guys are kind of the worst of the farming bunch. I always resurrect, help others who also want to farm, and encourage others to do well. If I don’t like my arena anymore, then I simply leave and don’t make a fuss. Gauntlet isn’t intended AT ALL for just farming.
I had a guy actually say to me yesterday that the arena he was at was full and for me to go away. I made sure to stay around, get into a match, and fight for as long as possible. He left not too long after that.

Please, tell me how to farm T3 with a warrior. I would gladly farm it if I knew how.

Well, I for one find it somewhat rude to hijack someone else’s farming arena. Polite people find their own arenas where they don’t disturb anyone.

Certain arena’s have certain patterns especially in the case of the Liadri fight. Who’s to say it’s your arena? Or are you one of those ‘first come, first serve’ people? Given there’s only a limited number of arenas, if there were more people like you, no one would get to fight.

I use full zerker warrior 30-30-0-10-0 with gs and axe/mace, and Healing Signet, For Great Justice, Signet of Might, Shake it Off and Signet of Rage. I use Signet of Rage in only every other match. I charge in with gs 5, use gs 2, then switch to axe/mace, and hit mace 4, mace 5 and finish with axe autoattack. Sometimes I get downed but I can finish him from there. I also use prec/critdmg food. Shake it Off I use to remove crippled after match to get out of combat and heal. Gambits are crippled, burning and no dodge. I make about 20g per hour if no one interferes with my farming.
Why don’t you switch to Asurge on your heal? You can use it at the start of the fight to activate berserker’s power.

This gauntlet thing does really bring out the best and worst of the community, doesn’t it?

Ah. I was trying to squeeze frailty in as well . Risky…
I just do deadeye with 3 gambits (burning, no dodge, cripple) (warrior). It’s really easy with a 99% success ratio for me.
I never really timed it, but for great justice usually had anywhere from 5 to 12 seconds remaining on its cooldown after being teleported out. I’d use the skill a few seconds upon entering the arena. Signet of rage was usable almost (maybe 10s cooldown remaining) every other match, so I guess each round, including queuing, took around 30 seconds on average.
Using a sword/mace and greatsword was fairly simple. On entering, I’d run to the side so I’d have clear path in between the mines to deadeye and use the mace knockdown. Note that some arenas have better entry mine placements, whereas some you really have to run around. After the knockdown, I would sword leap to him. After that it was pretty much 100 blades + for great justice + frenzy. When kill shot was going to happen, I’d just whirlwind evade it. If he teleported across the room, I’d line up the mines and rush to him and 100 blades again. He’d usually die at the point or occasionally teleport away with 1% health. Every other match would be slightly faster due to the cooldowns and when he teleports right next to you at the start is when it was much faster.
For the last utility skill, I was using bulls rush/kick/stomp, but he kept teleporting the second I’d use it, which for bull’s rush would make me hit a mine. I stuck with endure pain even though I rarely used it, maybe only once every 3 matches, since he will occasionally do a kill shot within ~7 seconds of the last one.
I was asked to leave an arena by a thief that was farming deadeye nonstop. He said that I could find another arena with helpful people, implying that he hoped I died and I wouldnt be ressed.
Lol, the gauntlet and the farming mentality rose the grinders to a new height.
I did find another arena, didnt want to stick around after that, but most of them were people farming deadeye.
Farming Wars.
At best, one would hope ANet simply forgot how greedy a significant portion of the MMO community is and how it would impact there brainchild, rather than having set this up specifically to keep them busy with fairly limited content via the gauntlet’s repetitive structure.
As someone suggested above, a simple, obvious solution was available: after a win vs a particular boss, just close it off, or remove the reward. Being so obvious, it makes one wonder if they actually do understand how MMO players tend to tick.
I had a guy actually say to me yesterday that the arena he was at was full and for me to go away. I made sure to stay around, get into a match, and fight for as long as possible. He left not too long after that.

There are a limited amount of arenas that often will have 2+ people at each one of them at times… it was one of those times. He was by himself and telling people to get lost because it was “his arena” and he didn’t want to share it with anyone else. I find that rude.

Yea the gauntlet is totally bringing out the worst in the community. For example, there was someone that said that he had farmed Deadeye enough, so he asks anet to nerf Deadeye because it is boring (And he even said that he has had enough of farming because it is so boring, yet he still continues to farm). Then, once they do nerf him, he just ups and asks for yet another build to farm Deadeye.

I think we might have encountered the same unpleasant individual lol. I’m the same though I try to give people advice and cheer them on and stuff. If I really want to do a long stretch of G4 tickets back to back I just go find somewhere quieter, it’s not really a big deal.
The arenas are a privilege not property, I don’t ‘own’ any of them and if someone else wants to use their tickets they have exactly the same right as I do to spend them wherever they please and for whatever reason.

An instanced arena does not really feel like an arena now does it.

I don’t find jobs a necessity (in Tyria). Its all about that gold and bling bling.
for the most part my experiences in the arenas has been pleasant other than my own frustrations at dying. Only on 1 occasion did I not get a rez. Outside of that those I’ve shared an arena with will rez regularly, politely wait if needed/asked, and even chat it up about various encounters/builds that they are working on. But it feels fairly evenly split between farmers and those still working on bosses for the first time.

Your two paragraphs totally contradict each other. This kind of attitude is the problem. You think you’re nice, yet when someone plays the game in a way you don’t like, you harass them. Saying people to go away because he wanted that arena for himself was his fault. Hes not the owner of it. Thats not farming in peace, thats expecting all the rest of people lost his opportunities to play if is necesary, because he want to farm.
Another case would have been if he did the queue with others, after all, both the farming ones and the others need to be in the queue.
Farming dont make you the owner of a place, or give you a special privelege for not queue.

Lol, wow. No one owns an arena. I’ve been told to go away, which just makes me stay at that arena.
It’s not the farmers that get in the way of regular players. Farmers are efficient – finishing their run withing 20 seconds at the most. I don’t mind sharing an arena with two farmers. We all work together and get our rotations going nicely.
It’s people who don’t do enough damage and take forever to die that bother the farmers instead. Farmers are the good guys here.
People farming the arena aren’t all inherently elitists or jerks or whatever people are throwing around in this thread.
I’m one of those who prefers to farm with an arena to myself. In general I’m pretty helpful to others, will provide tips and such, etc. But if there are open arenas in the pavilion and someone comes and queues while I’m farming, I’m still going to politely ask them to move. If everything is full up, then I just deal with it until the crowd dies down a bit. It sucks, but it is what it is.
This game is extremely grindy if you want expensive skins or a legendary. Anet forces people to grind gold for an eternity to get these things. This is what pushes people to do farms like this, and when you have the best farm in the game that can be significantly hindered if someone else is queueing with you, of course you are going to have people getting upset.
If you are a farmer, try to be polite if asking for someone to move. No reason to be an kitten .
If you are not a farmer, try to understand that there are 5 other arenas to play in and let the farmer do his thing in peace. If everything is full, then generally find an arena with people who aren’t trying to farm. This is what I did when going for Liadri achievements, and there was no problem with it. People who aren’t farming will tend to be more helpful with tips and such to beat bosses anyway. Farmers usually just like to do their thing in silence.

I don’t think any group are the good guys :P But if someone declares that they own a specific arena, yeah… not going to happen.

It’s usually the guys who are at the only arena without a line that are pretty rude though.

Yes, but say for the Liadri achievement, each arena has a different’ pattern to it. If I’ve been practicing for the past few days on the NE arena and some farmer tells me to move along, how is it fair I should be punished? I need that arena just as much as he. If not more, as mine is specific to my style. It’s not always the non-farmers that should move.
However, not all the farmers are indeed jerks, but its not a very high number that show such civility.
This whole thing starts feeling a little childish. I understand that people want to be efficient, but all this reminds me of is trying to teach little kids (i’m thinking my niece and nephew) how to share.
Consider the size of the community and that there’s only 6 arenas.
I’m guilty of farming the place myself, but move on quietly when things become too busy for my taste.
I think farmers are the ones becoming hindrance to other players, occupying an arena for hours and becoming hostile to players who just want to play the game.
If I were farming and someone asked me to move to another empty one so they could do Liadri, I’d be ok with it. As someone who’s done it I can feel your pain
Unfortunately there are a few bad apples out there, but it’s not fair to label every farmer like that because of a few. Best we can do is try to be civil. If a farmer is acting like a total kitten and you absolutely need a specific arena, you can ignore him. At worst you added someone to ignore and have to wait 20 seconds for him to get his kill before you get back in. He will probably move anyway if there are others open.
NA tPvP – Elementalist – Thief
I do my usual circle around the arenas, trying to find one without anyone there. I wouldn’t just queue up in a farmer’s spot if there’s another open arena :P But if everyone has 2-3 people, and there’s one with just the one farmer…. it’s open game.

The point I’m making is that non farmers are never inconvenienced by farmers cause the latter finish their runs so quickly. Why would a person trying to beat Liadri ask a farmer to leave? It doesn’t make sense. Liadri runs can take really long in comparison and it’s the poor farmer who needs to wait it out instead.
The pain is only flowing one way here.

This is the funniest post I’ve read in a long time. I’m wondering if you’re that guy. First of all, NO ONE owns any arena. Second, if he had not been such a jerk about declaring that the arena was his only and for me to leave, I would not have stayed around. If he had asked me kindly that he would like to make farm by himself, I would have had a completely different reaction. I didn’t know that you’re supposed to be nice to jerks. Lastly, your reply is completely absurd, as others have noted.
I think farmers are the ones becoming hindrance to other players, occupying an arena for hours and becoming hostile to players who just want to play the game.
I’m noticing this hostility trend both in-game and on the forums. The forums has very much devolved and has become a wretched hive of scum and villainy. A number of players come onto these forums with legitimate feedback on how to add some spit and polish to the content and are consistently met with “it’s fine just the way it is, learn to play scrub.”

I find it hilariously sad that one would subject themselves to such levels of boredom for something as simple as game gold. If you’re that desperate for game gold… buy it. In other words, get a job.
According to GW2 Spidy, currently it costs $0.55 for 1g.
If you can farm gold at 20g/hour, you’d need to find a job that pays more than $11/hour net pay in order to make it worthwhile. Minimum wage right now is $7.25/hour gross pay.
Assuming a vaccuum where you have the choice between working a job for gold or farming for gold, farming the arena is actually the more efficient method unless you can make the breakpoint salary.
Also, don’t take this as me defending the OP. (S)He’s a jerk like the rest of the farmers who yell at people to “stop ruining my area”.
(edited by Zhavari.7190)
I think both sides are jerks , the people like me that frown at the sight of other queueing in my “pod” and those same ones who queued in my pod and take the entire 2 mins to kill stupid Quaggan , tornado lady , Liandra , and even Subject 7 and the crew.
I don’t understand though , its what 5-6 pods around and im the only one under this particularly one farming and you decided to queue to take all my time and what kills me most (figuratively) is when they bring buddies. WTFBBQ
TLDR : EVERYONE IS JERKS!

No they’re not. The Gauntlet clearly wasn’t concieved as a means to farm ad nauseum otherwise 7 wouldn’t have been nerfed in the first place, nor would Deadeye have been been a little tougher – though people will find a way. Farmers are not the good guy when people are trying to obtain their achievements and Liadri mini which was exactly the point of the Gauntlet.
Speaking of Deadeye, weren’t you crying about it in a different thread about how it needed nerfing because of farming, then asking for builds presicely TO farm it? go home, you’re drunk.

Ooooh…getting personal are we? . Never mind – I’ll stick to the facts.
Anet is extremely aware of people farming this ad nauseum. They fixed Deadeye because he was easier to defeat than intended. It means those who can keep farming him despite that are still perfectly justified in doing so. If they didn’t want farming they would have just nerfed Deadeye’s drops instead.
They’re not idiots. If regular people can figure out that Deadeye and Ragemaw are being farmed, then Anet is certainly aware of it.
Second, farmers don’t prevent other players from either getting their achievements or the mini. Like I said before, their runs are extremely quick and efficient. A player trying to kill Liadri would barely have enough time to repair their armor or whatever before the farmer finishes their run. It’s the farmer who has to wait for the regular guys to finish up. The inconvenience is just one way.
Finally, yes I was complaining that it needed nerfing because of farming. And yes when I found that he was still farmable I asked for builds to continue. Is that illogical? When there’s an opportunity to farm I’m missing out by not doing so. It still means that I want it gone. But if it’s there I’m going to make the rational choice to get easy money.
Not so hard to figure out is it?
Ooooh…getting personal are we? . Never mind – I’ll stick to the facts.
Personal how? You post contradictory comments and thread topics and make out like farmers are the good guys. I don’t care how efficient you are, you have no claim of ownership over anyone in this game, queue up like everyone else, if you don’t like it, tough I’m afraid. Nobody is going to cater for yours or anyone elses self-entitled attitude.

Yes you do, you’re moaning about people taking up your domes, firstly, it’s not yours, the sooner you and the rest of the farmers realise that the better. Who cares how long a Liadri fight takes, again, it’s not your dome to have any say over. You think the inconvenience is one-way because you want to farm and are too selfish to wait, the problem is attitudes like yours.
Again, it’s illogical that you make contradictory posts and topics. You cry for a nerf, then ask for a build to farm it, I really don’t think you’re operating on a wavelength of this world.
Farm all you want, but get in line when the case arises and drop the selfish and self-entitled attitude.
Not so hard to figure out is it?
Right back at you.
…
I don’t get it…you’re telling farmers to line up like everyone else. As opposed to what? Have you seen farmers throw other people out? We can’t do that you know. It’s a game and we all have to play by the rules. So I’m not exactly sure what your complaint is. Could you care to elaborate?
Second, there are no contradictory statements. The two sentences:
1. I want the gauntlet to be nerfed – and
2. Show me how to farm the new Deadeye
Are not contradictory to each other. Let me give you an example of contradictory statements:
1. I want the gauntlet to be nerfed – and
2. I don’t want the gauntlet to be nerfed
Those are contradictory statements. Need I say more?
Second, farmers don’t prevent other players from either getting their achievements or the mini. Like I said before, their runs are extremely quick and efficient. A player trying to kill Liadri would barely have enough time to repair their armor or whatever before the farmer finishes their run. It’s the farmer who has to wait for the regular guys to finish up. The inconvenience is just one way.
Yes you do
How? Please give me a concrete example of how a farmer is preventing another player from getting their achievement. If you can show me this one thing I’ll admit that everything you’ve said is right.
Back up your claim…or just admit you’re not sure of what you’re talking about.
I think you’re having a very difficult time grasping the content of this thread or your ill concieved posts. You and other farmers want to claim ownership over a single arena, when it doesn’t got the way you want it to, harassement and verbal abuse ensues because your overwhelming sense of self entitlement takes over because you think you’re being inconvenienced.
As I said before, I don’t think you are on the same wavelength of this world.
No single player has any ownership over anything in this game save for their own home instance, their personal bank and items and custom PvP arenas that they have paid for. Everything else is shared content, and it would seem you and many others need to refamiliarise yourselves with what shared actually means.
