This, she must die, by Logan’s hand, one way or another ><

Fine, if you don’t want her dead, some other npc is either going to come capture her (ala Donkey Kong/SAB) (also no one can go save her), or be deposed and put in a tower/dungeon and no one will be allowed to see her.

I think that important members of the government being assassinated and replaced successfully pass that feel that the world is alive, which is the main objective of the Living Story, but at the same time it reminds us that Tyria is going through very difficult and dangerous times.

That being said, I don’t think that the Queen will be murdered, but I wouldn’t complain if she was. It would be a pleasant surprise.

The only characters on my list of “Please do not kill, I beg you” are Trahearne (because the last thing that Mary Sue needs is to be a martyr), Eir, Braham, Canach, Laranthir, Doern Velazquez, Lord Faren, Rox and Caithe (because I like them a lot, all of them).

There is no proof that having Logan at the fight would have changed the outcome. Yes, they would have had a better shot by purely a numbers standpoint but the second you change 1 variable in a process the previous outcome becomes void.

There is a theory that Jennah used her powers as a mesmer to make Logan’s little crush becomes an obsession. If that’s the case, I can’t bring myself to blame Logan for running back to her.
Also, it was only Kralkatorrik. We can’t be sure that the Destiny’s Edge would be able to kill any other dragon. However, if Snaff and Glint were still alive, maybe they could have a chance. At least there would be no reason for Zojja to psychologically torture Eir like she did. I think the Pact would be necessary either way.

Edit: Also, before anyone starts saying that “It was Eir’s fault, she should have just cancelled the attack”, Krakatorrik was coming for Glint already. Eir could either run away and let Krakatorrik simply slay Glint or go ahead and try. Without Glint, they wouldn’t have such a chance again, so the best choice was obvious, though risky. True, Glint died, and so did Snaff, but even though that may seem to us that Eir had a choice, she actually had not. Note that the Zephyrites speak very highly of Eir and do not blame her for Glint’s death. That’s probably because they know what was going on (unlike Zojja, it seems).

We can’t be sure about a lot of things if we change history. If Logan doesnt return there is no proof they would have won. Maybe Jennah dies and with her the peace treaty with the Charr. Maybe then Humans and Charr go to war with each other again, Pact never forms because there is no race unity, dragons are able to do what they will with Tyria.

I hate reading all these: Logan screwed everyone. We have no idea the outcome if he stays. We dont get to rewrite history like that.

We can’t know for sure, but he was the one that should protect Snaff.
Snaff and Krakatorrik were having a mental duel, and Snaff was able to hold Krakatorrik down before being tore apart by the dragon’s army.
Let me speculate a little:

Best case scenario: Logan would have been able to protect Snaff, and Krakatorrik would be dead. Jennah would use her OP mesmer powers to fool the army of charr and human into rescuing her, even without Logan to command them. The peace between charr and human would come from the teamwork and friendship of Logan and Rytlock, not from Jennah. Glint and Snaff would be alive.

Worst case scenario: Snaff, Glint, Logan and Jennah die. Zojja and Rytlock blame Eir because that’s what people do when they fail; they blame their leader. Charr and humans would never become allies. Tengu would be a playable race instead of charr.

Most likely scenario, IMO: They kill Krakatorrik because Logan was capable of keeping Snaff alive for long enough. Glint also survives. Jennah dies, and despite Logan and Rytlock’s friendship, charr and human never officially become allies because the new king, a minister, do not like the charr. We get tengu as a playable race instead of charr, but there are a few friendly charr in the world.

Or maybe there is an assasination, and in the last day it’s revealed that it was all a trick by Jenna using her mesmer abilities in order to find out who was really loyal to her and who was not…

Queen Jennah is basically inmune to death.

She is involved in personal storyline and it would be confusing to kill her outside the personal storyline.

She is part of the open world, so killing her in the personal storyline and then seeing her in the open world would be confusing too (the 3 mentors for example were designed to be found on instanced content, same as many GW1 characters).

For example, Caudecus isn’t the boss in his own dungeon because if you killed him there, it would create confusion in your human personal storyline.

The conclussion is that if you kill her either in personal storyline or living story/open world, it creates a lot of confussion which makes her virtually invulnerable. At best she could be kidnapped (again).

Listen to what Lokheit has to say. The Living Story and the Personal Story cannot contradict one another. That is one of the rules that the Living Story team created when they first decided to do the Living Story. If Jennah dies during the Living Story but you haven’t progressed that far in the Personal Story for the human campaign then it would be inconsistent. Moreover, she should have to be excluded from the story mode of Caudecus’ Manor.

While it would be nice to have some darker Song of Ice and Fire moments in the game I doubt ANet would do something so dramatic as to kill off Jennah for the Living Story. The craziest thing that has happened so far is the death of some Lion’s Arch council member that no one has ever heard of up until the point of his death. That’s not to say that it can’t happen some time in the future when ANet adds new content to the Personal Story post-Zhaitan’s defeat.

Just before starting Flame and Frost, it was said that the LS could be confusing for people that didn’t finish the personal story. Yes, it is due to contradictions. I think the example used was “x npc is suddenly bad”.
Since it has been a while since that was said, I can’t find the link right now. I wonder if anybody else remembers that. My memory might be trolling me, too.

Killing the Queen can open up a lot of possibilities for plot progression:

  • Caudecus sweeps in to become Regent
  • Human-Charr alliance breaks apart
  • Ebonhawke secedes from DR

Might be all, or even none of the above. Maybe the real Queen is killed and replaced by an puppet figurehead. Or is still alive and we need to find out where she is before the imposter does irreparable damage.

As long as there is a solid consistent plot direction I’m cool with it.

Probably because those people aren’t posting on the forums. The forums are a dirty sample of the worst the community has to offer, more often then not.

This thread gives me a headache. You lot who are hating on Logan have either never finished the games story, skipped it, or you’re really bad trolls.

Logan is directly responsible for your victory against Zhaitan.

If he didn’t offer himself as tribute (and survive no less because he’s a tropes BA/hero like that) and go (good guy) Shiro on the risen army to see the rest of the party out of Arah, we’d all be dead/undead in Orr.

This is a man that solo’s a city worth of zombies… and wins, going on to find his way back to you right on time to help you kill Zhaitan.

Logan’s more then redeemed himself. He’s a good man and he exemplifies what it means to be human.

Without Jennah, we wouldn’t have humans and charr on a road to peace. She’s a great leader and we’ll live in a better more exciting world for it.

On top of that using some simple logic, we know she isn’t going to be killed. She’s an integral character to the games personal story. That would create a nasty paradox.

Sitkaz, Trahearne is a sylvari – they can’t be risen.

And Jennah won’t be killed – Doric’s blood flows in her veins – this blood is so powerful that she can dismiss Ghosts from Ascalon, she can link every bloodstone into one big and release its powers (probably so much power that she could defeat elder dragon herself).

However, Order of Whispers stated that Jennah probably isn’t the only one with Doric’s blood. – Although it may be hard to find the other person, and even harder to put him/her on the throne (with the ministers grasping for influence).

Also, treaty with charr will maintain with queen or not. Many people amongst charr and humans are now friends and I don’t think any orders will ever change that. It’s too late. :P

Yeah, cause nothing that happens in the world can be out of sync with the Personal Story. The truth is, Jennah is only around in instances, they can easily kill her off while preserving this.

Rurik and Togo both die in GW1, that doesn’t stop you from repeating missions which have them alive. If they can kill an Elder Dragon yet have his minions and champions still appearing in the open world, they can easily take out a queen who has little to no relevance to the open world outside of minor mentions in a handful of DEs.
