With the new Queen’s Jubilee just being announced, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for an event that will leave a permanent effect on Tyria’s political landscape. So far we’ve had the murder of a LA councilor, whose name I doubt anyone remembers, as well as a vote between two fairly flat characters ( though I admit I’ve started to warm up to Gnashy )

Wouldn’t it be awesome to see Logan’s reaction to the death of his beloved queen? Wouldn’t it feel great to witness an actual change in Tyria’s history. With so many “events” like the killing of Zhaitan, the cleansing of Orr and various story dungeons not having an actual effect outside of their instance, wouldn’t it be great to see permanent change occur?

In light of this, I think it would be simply fantastic for all heroes of gw2 to see a monarch fall, and to be there to witness it!

It certainly would probably lead up to more options for content. Off the top of my head if we go with this thought – Logan going bloodlust crazy to find the assassin (Or organization) behind this plot, shaking down any & all who get in his way, no matter his methods (be it a good path or darker path the further he continues his search).

But ya, would be too much current stuff to redo.

Yeah right, that would be like killing Princess Jasmine in Aladdin or some equivalent to that. Closest thing you will get is an assassination attempt during a party. Because you know there has to be a party.

Logan must go on a long journey with other hero’s help to find Jennah’s dropped contact! Much treachery will be involved, with many eye inspections of who is currently using them to be her doppelganger and come in & replace her to rule and start a new rain of ter-roar (Insert Mesmer charr with Jennah’s contacts)!?!!

Or they could just build some info about the cause of the great collapse. How it got caused by a group of rogue asura scientists that were tying to stealthily mining for gold under Divinity’s Reach or something.

That sounds too mature. GW2 devs made quite clear that we should have events for little kids.

How about the Queen gets kidnapped by her evil stepmother and her evil jealous sisters tear apart her dress before the ceremony?

Last time Jennah got kidnapped, she put her hand up saying “Force field!” and then the adventure kinda ended there.

I’d love something meaningful to happen. But the next update is looking like another achievement grinding fluff-fest to sell more gemstore rubbish. My god I hate living story updates so much now. I didn’t bother with any of the achievs from the current one nor the back items (already got a bankful of that kinda thing) as ive really ceased to care.

If this kind of content is meant to be what makes gw2 great then I wish the writers would have some balls to actually make it engaging. And what are all the other dragons doing? They just been taking a holiday since release? C’mon Anet, minigames/achievs/skins are just a band-aid, a lot of us are still looking for a decent update.

That apparently didn’t stop Logan from thinking she was dead at the start of CM story – and it wasn’t even her telepathy that put a stop to that – it was Zojja.

I could see an attempt on her life, which could further kick off the path about ministry corruption, but not all out assassination.

The chase to rescue her is on a long jumping puzzle were you have to jump around on bits of old brick walls and sewer pipes while avoiding the dragon’s minions. And when we finally get to the end, Logan’s there to tell us that he got there first and discovered that THAT Jennah was only an illusion, the real Jennah must be elsewhere down there and we have to keep going.

As you can complete events in the Living Story before the Personal Storyline, it would be really confusing, so I doubt they will kill her, Anisse or any important character from there (and I think this is exactly why Caudecus wasn’t the boss we had to kill in his own dungeon).

To be true, the last “Assassination case” had been really … meh..

I expect that if they will introduce a new one, at least come with a new sort of best clímax.

Ah, the ugly side of a persistent MMO world. This sometimes makes me wish that GW2 was a little more like GW1. It was essentially an Online Single Player where big changes could be made to the story without having to worry about the persistence of the world for every individual player. PvE was a Single Player game foremost with online added to it.

assassination? I’m kind of with you on this one. Not so much the assassination part but something should happen to make this interesting.

It better not. The treaty between chars and humans would fall apart, the white mantle would reemerge, and Logan’s sadness and rage would be unbearable. Well, I guess that would make for an interesting story, but I don’t want lovers to be torn, that happened too often enough in personal story. Also, we should see progress in human char relations, not destabilization.

i hope for once the fest goes off without a hitch, baasically everything has had something go horribly wrong where we have to fix it so everything goes back to normal so the next phase can start. Its a shampoo bottle philosophy.

Did you even PLAY the first game?? ….there was atleast a dozen instances where we could wander around a town or lower level zone and see an NPC who would be {spoiler alerrrrrrt} DEAD in a few days time (or roughly 5-10 levels up from there) who was always still alive in that Chronological window of time for the lowbies to look at.

Like you said, GW1 used different zones as different timeframes to some extent.

GW2 doesn’t. Everything is supposed to be one interconnected world all in the same time. That’s why fractals were introduced to let you play events from other timeframes, because it wouldn’t make sense to have them in the normal game because its all supposed to be constant.
