The dc at the end of the event followed by the loginservers going down too was rly the icing on the cake, couldnt even login to the forums ro complain lol.
Lag, bugs dcs and so on this event was probably the most terrible experience i ever had in 20 years of gaming.Much appreciated

I just want to confirm that this also happened to me:

Game crashed at the end of the ancient karka event, and when i finally logged in, I somehow spawned in the lava and died right away, and no one could res me.

I COULD IN FACT SEE THE REWARD CHEST, but I had to spawn at a waypoint, and when I did, the chest was gone.

Then I tried to login on the forum, but for the last 2 hours it failed…

Im a casual player who aim for skill, not gear. I dislike farming and in particually I dislike magic find gear which goes against Anets own design goal of not just “preparing to have fun”.
So I have almost found nothing worse anything in my whole gameexperience (found no exotics, had to buy it all). And its ok. But now I finally had a chance to get a decent reward without farming in MF gear and then this happens…
As a causal player who do not like to wast too much time on playing games, a whole weekend wasted on nothing is just a bit too much.
Im not angry at Anet and this is not a threat: But if this problem is not solved and we dont get a reward for this event, Im not wasting anymore time on the game. Period.

At the last moment.. it had like 0,2% hp i’ve got disconnected from the overflow server without reason, and i couldn’t get back. After that I coudn’t log in here to post a comment, but finally I’m here.. at least.
After an hour login errors finally i could get in to the game, but they already killed the beast and no chest was there

I’m very sad, like the sad quaggans. I’ve worked so hard to kill that ugly boss for about 3 hours and no reward

I thought the event was a great one really enjoyed it until i got Dc’d at final boss and then lots of guild mates got precursors and i couldnt even get a chance at them. Little upset

Same crap happened to me, was on the last part where you destroy the four webbings on the bombs, died, ported to nearest waypoint and the game refused to load. Didn’t get credit or loot as a result, pretty disappointed.

Had the same issues. Dc’ing,,game restart and enter a different overflow,,this happened several times. Finally got to the end boss event and died on the ramp leading down,,no rez ..So, No xp,,no rewards , 3 hours wasted……

Dc and then my GPU overheated haha no reward

But hey atleast the event was fun

What about the programming errors that prevented the event from progressing, and hence people receiving their event rewards? I didn’t get disconnected, but I certainly didn’t get anything from the event.

Had pretty much the same.
We just finished off the second wave of reinforcements when I got disconnected.
Tried logging back in, but by the time I got back in the event was over and the chest was gone.

Yeah it really sucks to not get anything after spending that much time on this event. I hope we are compensated or this is fixed somehow.

→ visual disorder from low-fps-fest
→ no loot/reward at all
which actually was – according to guild-mates – really good (20-slot-bags, several exotics, rares, unique-skins)

i really love the new dungeon(s)/fractals
i like the new area
i like the new pvp-map

but i just hate the performance of the game/servers when there are more the 10 people around – hate it with a burning passion
i hate it when i miss the “once in a lifetime”-event due to technical issues

i would say that isn’t good publicity while 3-day-test-phase either
srsly anet get your stuff together – for the good of the game

Yea? How about those of us who just ALT F4’d out after more than 2 hours because the lag was preventing the event from even being progressed? Or all the people who had to quit because the lag dragged it out so long that they couldn’t put any more time in to it because of their timezone?

Reward nothing. I didn’t even get to see the end of the event because the lag dragged it to a halt at the second reinforcements wave. The first phase on Friday was lagged to hell. The second phase LA piece bugged out. The intermediate quest progression bugged out. Might as well just give everyone everything after this cluster**** considering almost NOTHING worked right.

Adding my voice to the list here. Fought in the event for two and a half hours before I disconnected in the final fight. By the time I could log back in the event was long since over. No loot, nothing. A real bummer.

It’s pretty miserable to spend upwards of 2 hours on a really horribly buggy and badly balanced encounter and only get rewarded by a disconnect. Ah well. ’Tis but a videogame.

2 and a half hours of ridiculous lag, getting wiped by invisible mobs that one shot, and then getting d/c’d and miss out on the chest that actually gave GOOD loot such as exotics/precursors unlike the ones at jormag, temples, etc. What a joke.

I fell through the ground into lava when boss was at around 10% hp. Tried to go to waypoint to return and loot the boss when I got stuck in loading screen, got in about 20min later and chest was gone.

This is so incredibly frustrating. 2 hours wasted . I was doing the event and got disconnected only managed to log back in a few minutes ago only to find the event over and people posting their loot on reddit.

I would like my loot arenanet and not to have the next event be as frustrating as this one.

I don’t think the new players this weekend are getting a good impression of gw2 from this event.

I love this game I know you can do quality stuff, but I am sorry to say that I did not enjoy lost shores.

sounds like your thinking of just the ppl who couldn’t loot chests what about the ppl who spent ages doing the events up to the boss (2/3 hours worth)and got nothing because of d/c and missed it?

I’ve been so frustrated when i got disconnected the moment i am about to finish.

Thought it was just me, only to find out that almost all of us in that group got dcd.

Waking up at 4am in the morning here in my country to join this event, staying for 2 hours killing and dying, and got nothing in the end. What does that tells me?

This is the first disappointment I have felt with GW2 – after spending hours on pre-events to miss out on the relatively massive rewards from the final event is really disheartening – especially when it seems that everyone who participated is telling their rags to riches stories now…=/
Making this a 2-time only event would certainly be nice.

i had same issue was in event for 2 hrs with very bad lag lost connection 2 time and 3rd couldn`t log bk in for 1 and half hrs when i finally got in event was over and missed out on reward i`m very disappointed to say the least

This better be addressed in some way, it’s clear that a huge portion of the playerbase has been affected already.

Same thing here. I played on an Overflow-Server and during the final Phase where Karka was running down the Cave, i got a Disconnect. i try to relog, but the Log-in Servers were down. After 10 minutes i came back, but the event was over and the chest was away…

Just to say, disconnected just before end of event, couldn’t get logged back in for more than hour – wasted all that time on lead up events and got nothing to show for it except immense frustration.

Really really disappointing. It’s not even the lack of loot, it’s the wasting of my time that irks me the most.

Same here, i’ve been disconnected and no reward . It took ages to kill thoses monster + the repairs bills and teleportation.

Had the misfortune of being swarmed by the hatchlings at the end like many others. Died, and tried to waypoint back to finish the event. Ended up watching the loading screen for an eternity.

Pretty disappointing finale to a 3 hour slog through the Krusty Krab.

While I chose not to participate in this event due to the horrid amounts of unacceptable lag in the previous one, I can definitely understand why all of you would be absolutely livid. I sincerely hope ANet will compensate all of you who’ve literally been cheated out of the loot you worked hard for. They’ve really dug themselves into a hole with these buggy/laggy/one-time-events that, more often than not, a huge chunk of the player base has trouble even participating in (and in this sorry case, even those who’ve participated are out of luck).

it was fun, but I do this all for some REWARD! and I want this reward, bcz if not, it was only waste of time :/

I got logged about 3/4 times, got shoved in different Overflow servers, then lagged so bad I died constantly… And got zero rewards or exp for it.

Sucked.

So I am there for the start of the event… go through the entire thing (getting DCed all the time) and make it to the final area. I crash and cant get back in. So I randomly get thrown into a buged server where the event has just started. Awesome! I get a second chance. Well DCed on the way to the cave chasing the ancient and get DCed again… cant get back in (due to full server). Is there any plans on granting the people that have had this same thing happen to them some rewards? This is crazy if you ask me.

Same problem here. Had soundbug and client crash about 10 min before the Event ended. And since the Login-Servers were Down i couldn’t login before the Loot-chest disappeared. :-/

It’s a bummer to lose two exotics, two rares and that event ring. But the 20-slot bag would be really nice to get at least.

I didn’t get my reward either after 2h30 of fighting and being disconnected when the boss was at 5% of his life. I haven’t been able to log back in for 20 minutes after what I reappeared in lava and died.

There was no chest for me and I tried dozens of instances (switching between instances for 40 minutes) and I finally gave up and disconnected.

I did the event for fun but it was a 2h30 fight and when you crash at the last moment and don’t get anything while your friends are all saying how happy they are to have gotten great items you’ve been trying to get for months (good for them), you’re just disgusted you couldn’t get a chance to have one of those.

I am a really invested player (in time and money) and I love the game, I really do. But things like that are more than just a bummer. It’s not the end of the world but I don’t think I’m going to reconnect any time soon unless something is done to help us get our deserved reward.

I know you didn’t anticipated that problem and I don’t blame you for that but I think the right thing to do would be to allow those who completed the event and didn’t get a reward to open the chest somehow (a special chest in mail?).

I’m glad you are looking into it and I hope you’ll make up for this problem.

exact same issue. At least it looks like they’re working on it.

And I just want to point something out: this is one of those scenarios, at least for me, where I don’t care so much about the loot I missed. What I want to see is a clear explanation from ANET about what went wrong from this event start to finish and a VERY clear explanation of VERY SPECIFIC steps that are planned in the future to prevent this sort of complete disaster.

The loot is a one time thing. After this event, I’m so incredibly disappointed that I question whether or not this is a one-time screw up or if we can expect this kind of crap in the future. Because if this is how ANET is going to run this game, I really see no particular reason to keep playing it. If it’s going to be this frustrating, I can find other things to do with my time.

Was disconnected too during the end cut scene after a 2.5 hour event. Was really disappointed to miss the chest. Even more so that my friend playing with me managed to stay connected and got their chest full of exotics and rares. Haven’t got an exotic yet.

I got Disconnect too right before the Ancient Karka was about to enter in the cave, then I couldn’t log in for about 10 minutes so I couldn’t get the reward to.

I hope ANet would think about a solution so we can get the reward too, also was a very fun event, I realy love to participate at these pieces of history of Tyria and contribute at building the new one.
