I enjoyed the new material and the new zone, but the event made me a bit. Grinded away at the event twice and got disconnected before I was able to get my chest rewards both times, the second disconnect was about the same time that the new build was being pushed out! It just makes me very sad to see so many people get some good loot and then not get a crack at the chest not once, but TWICE I was disconnected. We do it for the loots! Would love to see some kind of compensation, and I know there were so many people who experienced the same type of issue.

Add me as well on the list of DC’ed people, together with my girlfriend. Worked a good 2,5 hours and in the end died at the last explosive barrel, teleported to run back, but we both got DC’ed during the map loading. Couldn’t log in for the next 15mins, and when we got back in the game, running to the place, the boss was already dead, and no more chest either. :’(

It’s a game, so im not too mad on it, but its just a pretty sour taste of hard work for nothing. Hope to get alteast the ring or box out of it.

I’d like to add my complains too. I spent all Sunday playing GW2 and about 2 hours on last event. I spent all my money for repairs and waypoints, I lost all my armour (bikini style, armour needs to be repaired for 10s+) and finally after 2 hours of last event, few minutes before end, I have been disconnected and landed at overflow without any reward. So, please do something with that – I’m resignated and feel hopeless.

Same here. Dced at the reinforcement phase, took forever to get back in only to end up stuck in an overflow that was done. Tried rejoining several times, done done done and done. A friend of mine got to open 3 chests and got 2 precursors.

Who at arenanet thought it was a good idea to drop such good rewards (20 slot bags, 3 exotics and some other stuff) on a one time event anyway?

Anways it should be easy to check who got medals (I got gold ones) to prove part taking in the event and all those people need to be send the same rewards as others. Seeing as there’s hundreds of people having this problem there’s no asking for compensation, we deserve it. Check for medals in the event and if they got the loot chest, if not then send them one. The server made us all dc…I’m sure it’s not the unstable internet for hundreds of people at the same time.

I also got disconnected during the final phase and couldn’t even log into the guildwars afterwards.

Me too, we had blown the bombs and were going to kill him, then the game crashes and I can’t log in for half an hour!! And when I do get in, the event is over and no chest for me :/

Same here fell into a hole got burned to death re spawned then kicked so much work for nothing

I got DCed, overflowed and given a right run around with really poor information from start to finish, oh wait, I can’t finish!!

Did the event for 2 and a half hours just to be disconnected right at the end and not be able to log back in so ended up not being able to get the chest, never been so frustrated playing a game before. I want my reward for all my hard work.

I was very upset with the client disconnecting at the final phase of the 2 hour event.

I’m in Sydney so it was at 9am Monday morning when it happened – I had made other plans regarding work to attend this one off event.

I’m just very disappointed this occurred.

If this event defines you…im sad! Why do yourself and your team such a disservice and launch an event where your trying to show new people about your game and give them a laggy,bug ridden time sensitive event?
I have never played a game this bad with bugs. This could have been a great event except, you guys put restrictions on it.

I am another player that got dced at the end. My computer blows your specs to play this game out of the water, however i couldnt even see the buggs half the time due to partical effects and lag.

Yep, same thing happened to me, when they were detonating the charges to finish off the Ancient Karka I never got a warning due to lag, got blown up and when I tried to wp so I wouldn’t miss anything I got a loading screen for 5 minutes and then was disconnected, spent another 20 mins relogging trying to find an active overflow but no dice.

3 hours and not a single reward because the game bugged me out in the last few minutes. Hearing about people getting precursors from the chest just makes me feel ill.

Got disconnected after about three hours, when Ancient karka almost returned to the cave. Could not connect for more then 20 minutes after that. Watched ending on youtube, it was epic. So I am sad that I missed it.

This also happened to me. I was playing with a group when I was disconnected, shortly before the first event completed. When I logged back on, I couldn’t rejoin my group because the server was full and the overflow server was indicating that the event was over. I tried reconnecting repeatedly or finding a different overflow server so I could finish the event, but was unable to do it. An hour later, the rest of my party was also disconnected right before they finished the final phase of defeating the Ancient Karka.

Follow the group of ppl chasing the boss over 2 hours, then the game crashed !!!! the log in was disable… for almost 40 min, after that, event over, chest was gone,
sad T_T.

So, I was excited to read that ArenaNet had taken a lot of the feedback on board about the problems with the Lost Shores events, and were moving to find a solution for people who had missed out.

But will those of us who couldn’t even log in at all for the Ancient Karka fight be compensated also?

It seems that a lot of players got disconnected and missed the finale. Well, some players including myself were unable to log in at all during the Ancient Karka event – I had spent a few hours doing the events earlier in the day, but when I tried to log back in for the main event I was unable to do so.

Additionally I spent upwards of 18 hours this weekend trying to enjoy the Lost Shores events in general, and they were pretty good. But due to the timing of the bugs that remained unfixed while I was still able to play, I couldn’t complete the Miyani / Zommoros investigation despite having spent a good few hours running back and forth between bugged NPCs.

I fear that by the sounds of the recent post ArenaNet are only moving towards rewarding those people who were able to log in during the Ancient Karka event and start participating in the fight. I’m pleased for you guys that they’re actually interested in making things right.

But that’s still going to leave a lot of players unrewarded – players who had also invested a lot of time in what was a great event in theory, but perhaps not great in execution.

Rather than trying to target players who participated in a specific event, which I imagine is tricky (given the tone of the post), why not target players who completed at least one of the Lost Shores events?

We all want the same thing – to be rewarded for our participation, not excluded because we couldn’t make 1 of the many events going on. We were told that this was all a “one time only” event. We played through the content all across the weekend. But nobody told us that the only real reward worth getting was from a few-hours-long window, and that all our previous efforts came with little to no reward.

So instead of a chest that only certain players were able to reach, what about mailing players a bag with the same loot potential as the chest? Those people who played the Lost Shores content but missed out on just the end of one single event – through no fault of their own – need some love too.

Same happened here, 2 1/2 hours of dieing only to go link dead at the end,i get back into the game,run down the spiral looking at the chest the whole time only to get there and the chest wont let me click on it! Grrrr…

Welp, add me to the list as well, got kicked out of the last surviving event runs (only one I was able to attempt, even) by crashing to desktop, along with my whole party, several more guild members (from the same overflow), and it would seem that at the same time a great number of others experienced the same.

2+ hours of fighting just to be kicked while fighting the last boss and could not get back on. When I managed to get back on 30mins later to find the end boss had died and I missed it I was miffed, was not to bothered about the chest I just wanted to kill the final boss. Was a nice fun event just too over populated on the overflows. Overall ANET you planned a nice event. Thanks sadly from doing this mega event and the Halloween I wont be doing the winters-day events as you guys have let me down. I am used to you guys planning epic events from guild wars and these are just a let down.

Add another to the list of very disappointed customers. I was dc’d, from an overflow server, at the end of the 2nd reinforcement stage and unable to re-join for several minutes. When I did manage to get back I was on a different server that had finished the event. I tried re-logging a few times but couldn’t find my original server. So I spent several hours doing an event I didn’t get to see the end of and for absolutely no reward. I was enjoying it until that point but this disaster left me with very poor memories of the whole weekend. Gutted to say the least.

Thanks for the update, I assumed it was my client that was busted when I couldn’t log in for half an hour (on a side note the GW2 forum was also down). When I finally got back online, the event was over. If it helps, I disconnected at approx. 22:30 GMT from the Underworld main instance of the final event.

I really enjoyed the event, but I expect the team to step things up in future.

Normally I don’t want to add my reaction to a whole list of people that already responded, but in this case it’s different.
Why is it different? Because after all that happened yesterday, I had such a bad feeling and vibe towards this game, I came close to ‘just uninstalling’ it and never look back; I really had a bad feeling. It all went fine in the beginning, same overflow with lots of guildies.. started at the right time (9 PM Dutch time).

We went down the Karka hideout; no problems, but then we started to walk up (to the top towards the Rich ori vein), and I don’t know what happened or why it happened, and if it was either my pc or the game; but I started to have massive FPS drop/lag; and it never went back to normal anymore. One moment I was standing up with full health, next moment I was ‘defeated’ (totally missing the downed stated). But I thought it’s a one time only event, I just want to say that I have “been there”.

Sadly though.. after going up the ‘karka spiral ’, the event wasn’t done.. and my performance went downhill even further.
All I can say from the next few events (the three, ‘plugging’ those springs, the terrible terrible reinforcements, the rockslide), that although it did feel like something epic, and a huge fight, it not only took way too long.. but for people with older pc’s it just became unplayable.

I actually made the screenshot below, because I wanted to remember my graphic settings for later (I was turning it all down to maybe win some performance). But as you can see, I had 6 FPS.. and that was one of the better moments.. I was going between 2 and 7.

I think this screenshot was taken during the first reinforcements, but right at the start of the second reinforcements my pc just gave up (for the first time). The game stood still, I couldn’t alt tab out.. or ctrl+alt+delte or anything.. It just broke.. I used this moment to, just by pressing the off button on my pc, take a small break to cool off.. because at that moment it just wasn’t fun anymore.. it should have just stopped at that spiral to be honest.

After 10-15 minutes, being cooled off a bit, I started to get motivated to just wanting to see the end. So I log back in, meet up with my guild party in the same overflow I was on, what do I see when I log on, to my astonishment, the second reinforcements phase (where I crashed at the start) was still going on! I got new motivation because I didn’t miss anything, although my FPS were still below 9; I had the feeling I could make it.

And then the worse thing that could happen, happened, during the next event (if I remember correctly it was about toxic gases that needed to be destroyed), my FPS went back to 2-3 (in hindsight obvious if I remember what happened shortly after).. At that moment I just felt like giving up again.. It was just too frustrating..
After this it all went fast.. the toxic thingies start to get destroyed.. and guildies/local chat start to talk about stuff that is being looted (on overflows that are already finished with the event) from the chest in the end; rares, exotics even precursors are getting linked in chat!
I remember what I’m doing it for again, the prize in the end! A chance on getting my own hands finally on a precursor!

But right at the moment where I get my motivation again, at the moment we are at 4/12 regarding completing that toxic gases event.. the same thing happened as before; my pc just gave up.. my game stood still (and not just a lag spike because there I was still able to chat).. it just stood still.. and again.. alt tabbing didn’t work..

Now I start to get frustrated for a different reason; what If I miss the prize, what if the event finishes while i’m rebooting! So I hard reboot my pc again (second time just because of this event), I boot back up.. and what happens? I can’t get back in anymore! Not because my pc would’t boot, but because your log in server went down! I kept getting that same error message over and over again.. and after trying for half an hour just to get back into the game (like launch all over again).. just because of that stupid chest in the end.. I finally give up and go to bed..

In recap: started at 9, gave up close to midnight (3 hours later).. and what did I get in the end; frustration, a bad feeling about the game and the urge to write what happened last night so that you guys can remember that when you do events like this.. think about the people that are closer to the minimum requirements to the game.. can they run it? .. and the worst part is.. I didn’t even get my prize I like what you guys are doing, and how you’re adding new stuff (and cool big boss fights like this one).. but this gave so much frustration last night, that I don’t think I ever want to attend these ‘one time only big events’ again; just not worth it.

As already stated in a couple of treads, I was also affected by the problem. Disconnected about 5 min before the end of the event and never reconnected until 30 minutes, when the chest was disappeared.

I appreciate your efforts trying to solve this unpleasant inconvenience.

Anet already made changes where players can be happier from the previous event Mad King i.e. ( Black lion chests items, mysterious potions forged into another chests that will have a chance to get weapon and armor skins). We hope that all the players including me who experienced the disconnection before Ancient Karka die will be compensated from this problem and be happier. I think players are more concerned about the accomplishment of getting the loot after 2-3 hours of fighting karka’s than efforts and teamwork put into drain. Hoping for the best on this.

Same here, disconnected from the event after being stuck in an endless loading screen, then unable to log back into the game because of the log-in server error. Appreciate the efforts Anet are taking in order to make it right to people; I would really love me my 20 slots bag

I faced the same problem! after suffering though all the lag… i got disconnected from the server, not to forget that my internet connection was running perfect!!

Disappointed…!

I was disconnected about halfway through the event. I tried to log back in several times but was confronted with a neverending loading screen followed by a “disconnected from client” message.
In the end I gave up on being able to participate further in the event and played on my guardian who was not in the area.

And the people who were lucky enough to get through the instability get rewards that practically equal or exceed the wealth I’ve managed to gather from the start of the game. I hate whine, but this is a little bit of an issue for me.

FUN, i got fun from playing the event and for me as a gamer it is the greatest reward i could get from playing the game, not the gear, not the kitten pixels, but enjoyment. You should grow up ppl and not take gaming so seriously. Just have fun playing and all Your problems will fade away.

oke, we are gonna wait.. but do you really think that ANET will give us the chance that we could get a freaking precursor? i don`t think so.. i personally know some guys that managed to do this event TWICE!!!! meanwhile us… THE rest of people.. were disconnected/client error or couldn’t logged in our account.. so … WHAT about us?!? i personally don`t like the idea of 1 time event.. instead you could do something like 1 time per account.. that i believe is the best choice.. anyway… let us have a freaking chance at a precursor..

My game crashed in the final moments of the second part of the chain of events and every time i tried to login the login page from Anet always failed and i could not get into the game :x
I hope Anet does something before the Xmas Event…

Yes it’s a little disappointing but eh , I had a TREMENDOUS amount of fun!

Friend and I also got disconnected with that UFO sound, as we were destroying the webs.

Got disconnected after 2 hours fighting against the karkas, just few minutes before the end of the event. I tried to reconnect for 1 hour and when I logged back in, the event was over!! So no reward..
Fortunately I’m in good company

at least you got to finish the event guys, even if you didn’t get the reward.

i got stuck in terrain 2 hours into the event, and had to relog, and when i did i found myself in an overflow server that had already finished the event, and there was no chest.

i tried getting back on my original server where i was doing the event, but it also had finished the event and i didn’t get a reward.

Yes, please Anet- hope you read this -Im very happy to hear you are now looking for a way to compensate people who participated but missed the chest due crashing!
Also I really really hope that besides those who crashed it might also include players who fully participated , fighting 95% – 99% of the allmost 3 hours event but could not get the chest because of dying in “un-rezzable” spots just before the final Boss fight or during it. Thankyou!

Got dropped last night with the Ancient Karka down to about 10%. Could not get back online at all for about 45 min. Couldn’t even log into the forum. Incredibly frustrating experience.

its not only 20bag its KARKA 20 bag and this is important!

One time events: Maybe, if implemented right
One time Events that give the only realistic chance of getting a precursor: No way!
Add the bugs and the terrible lag, along with the WAY imbalanced loot table, and you get a nice big split in the community….
Seriously, when they announced they would add a way to get the precursor that would require actual skill, is this what they had in mind?
Sure, for an hour or two the market was flooded with precursors dropping the price. Say I was a rich player. Know what I would do? I would buy every dusk and dawn there was and then sell it at the 250g range again, essentially getting richer without even trying. This is not a solution, just a band aid that has already come off. End result is me and many more players feeling dejected from logging in again, which is a shame as this game does many things right
