Event loot worth $250. Details inside
Instead of loto rewards, they should of just given EVERYONE THAT TOOK PART, 5g. Done
No, they shouldn’t give gold, they should give coupons :P
All the fans of gambling get their fun from Mystic Keys. Why did the loot for this event have to be such an extreme gambling event as well? Hasn’t Anet given the gamblers enough fun?.. what about us non-gamblers who also want cool armour and weapon skins?
Yeah man. I hear ya OP. It sucks for a lot fo us who where there and then NOT.
I can understand if you complai about the stupid lag, the dy 2 event being canceled (and not a word about it – at least I didnt see), the final event being boring as hell, about the quests bugged, all of this makes sense to me. But complaining because you didnt get a drop from a chest and someone else did, well, this is just childish in my opinion. BTW, I didnt get no precursor and the highest value item ive got was worth less than 5g, but I wont be crying for this.
Congrats to those that got $250 and some that I’ve heard got $500. Haven’t heard of anything more then that…. yet.
@OP
And what do you want ANet to do? Send everyone a personal email every 5 minutes to make sure you don’t have to go to the doctor and can’t make the event?
Seriously dude, I don’t mean to be rude but you should at least try to follow some common sense. People know when the event is going to be for weeks prior. It’s you that has to adjust to the their schedule not ANet to every single one of our schedules.
I agree though they should have a way of identifying who participated in the last phase and didn’t get the chest due to server problems.
But for people that couldn’t attend due to RL issues I’m sorry it’s just nonsense.
So i should have aranged for my country to be moved to a different time zone so the event doesnt start at 9am monday morning sorry i realise i am just a whinger because i had a weeks notice to get NZ towed across the pacific and didnt.
I went to 8 events and completed none because of crashing/disconnections/new build while fighting the Ancient. Each event, I put at least an hour into it. I want nothing but a chance at opening the SAME chest that has the SAME chance of getting precursor(s) as the one from the event. Anet said they will compensate those that didn’t get a chance at the loot… so I’m just waiting to see how many people get precursor(s) from this compensation loot compare to the event chest.
A post for whiners. Nuff said. Have fun.

I tried logging in yesturday during the event and each time I would get disconnected when trying to go to the lost shore. I figured it was just a problem with the server and didn’t log back in until 9pm that night. You can imagine how upset I was when I found out I missed out on the chance at such epic loot. It was not due to my schedule, inability to play but rather just another one of Anets failures with event planning and programming. As I was a major fan of GW1 ,it hardly ever experiencing this amount of bugs, glitches and event failures that GW2 is and as a near 8 year loyal customer I can honestly say I am disatisfied with GW2 as a whole. I would expect at the very least Anet reroll the event and either strip the rewards from those who got them already so they could run it again or exclude them from the chest at the end.
All in all it prove my point that Anet was not ready to launch GW2 and needs to focus on completely fixing the bugs, events, profession traits and skill mechanics before going forward with new events or content.
If it was not for my GW1 and GW2 accounts being linked together I would have sold my GW2 account to an internet gold selling company long ago. That is how disappointed I am with the way anet is handling GW2.

what i though was the funniest thing was seeing pre legendary prices before the event, then after the event watch them drop.
Would this post have existed if the OP had gotten Dusk?
there are several threads about this so I think the answer to your question is yes. The only ones not complaining are those who did not experience the bug or got the double loot glitch and are being childish by trolling this thread.
People need to stop trolling and realize that these are legitimate complaints due to a server issue for which anet is responsable and if they have any integrity at all need to currect it.
The OP’s point is moot. ArenaNet has already stated that pre-cursors are moving to a scavenger hunt type thing. This event was just the first step in those being more readily available. The price is already way down off of the OP’s post. Someone in my Tier 2 Difficulty FOTM got a pre-cursor from a chest. ArenaNet knows. This is just like the chicken little threads from last week about gated content. How is everyone enjoying the new dungeon now? I don’t see any apologies. Why don’t you guys start cutting ArenaNet some slack. They have proven time and again that they are dedicated to putting out quality content, and often. Most sub games I have played didn’t have the new stuff ready this soon or in such quantity.
I think most of the legendaries are ugly so I have no interest in them. A bow that pukes rainbows says it all.
The greats words are the only weapons I could see being worth a grind. The dungeon gear is awesome so I’ll stick with it :-)
This thread is not about the FoTM. With a few minor bugs i think FoTM was by far the best thing anet has done yet. This thread is about the 30% or more of the community that either got DC’ed and cheated out of their rewards or couldn’t even log into lost shore which was worse because they didn’t even get the opertunity to participate in the event to get the loot from lost shore. from your arguement I am guessing your one of the lucky one who got a a precruser and are holding onto it like Golem and the 1 ring.. " My precious…… "
Think the biggest issue have is even for those who didn’t get precursors and got lesser rewars, it was still fairly decent loot. And many were plain blocked from participation not due to their issues (work, life, etc…) but because the game itself couldn’t handle the people. So basically the rewards are more liek a first come first served reward or door prize. Probably wouldn’t be as much of an issue if they had actually posted participation was limited but it doesn’t appear they considered they weren’t anywhere near capable handling the number of people who tried to take part.
@xEtherx Please read the post properly. The op is whining about ppl getting a virtual weapon which to him worth $250 green paper. . I know it is hard to swallow for ppl whose aim and direction in game is to make a legendary. Hey look on the bright side! Anet is gonna make it easier so sooner or later u will get yours!.
P.S I do not own a precursor too. And I did not exploit the event with alt chars. I only played it once.

Fair enough that this event had its flaws – particularly reffering to lotto-loot (ill call it ‘lootto’), however, some people are starting to behave like little kids with the way they present their complaints.
This isn’t the end of the world. Some players got very lucky. Thats it. ArenaNet can learn from this, and I’m sure they will.
I still recall getting my first rare staff from a fallen mob. Yes I would like to get better items but I know there are many who have also unique items and kudos to them. I will try to get what I can from my gameplay and, honestly, I couldnt care less that others have better loot than me. This is about me having fun and not trying to beat others by having the best loot – did people forget that?

wait wait wait, so you’re telling me gear matters in this game, what happened to no treadmill and gear doesn’t matter? i guess the TP is a liar
also i’ve known people who have killed for less then $250 in this RL people speak of.

This is my point exactly. people were either blocked or DC’ed because anet was not capable of handling the amount of players. That in turn with poor programming made the multiple looting exploitable and that is where it becomes unfair to the community.

Please don’t compare real life to gaming. Don’t blur the line of graphics and real life.

There are multiple reports of people getting multiple precursors.
If those ppl got their precursors due to the fact they played the whole event again with different chars. Legit.
Those who did not and use the other method . Ban. LOL

Missing out on an event sucks, but missing out on a chance for a precursor is unfair.
The prize is too good to not let everyone have a chance.
Either give everyone a chance at it or don’t give away precursors.
Sadly in either case Anet could have done this is a much much better.

I agree that if you looted the chest and didn’t get anything good, that sucks. Everyone is allowed to be mad about that. But, this post is about not everyone getting a fair chance at actually participating in the event and looting the chest. And when you offer something so valuable from an event, and don’t allow maximum participation, that is inherently unfair and poorly planned.

Actually I was not whining at all My post was well thought out, articulated for a wide audience, and had many examples and also how I arrived at my conclusion. It also had issues that were of a legitimate concern to players, and honestly A-net itself.
Oh, and I already covered that no, you cannot go out and sell this weapon for $250 physical real American dollars, but it does have a $250 in game currency.
Thanks to complainers, we won’t be seeing this kind of rewards in future events. Good job! I’m sure we’ll all enjoy new and fair rewards. All 1s84c of it.

This guy / girl gets it. That’s the whole spirit of my post / thread. If your offering something so valuable, something that has the possibility of changing your entire game with the gold is can go for, or shave a huge amount of time from grinding and farming it’s gold value, you need to give everyone a chance at it. And, you need to do it in a better way instead of handing these things out. Yes, people say that A-net is trying too increase the availability of precursors in game, but you do not simply hand them out at the end of a 3 hours zergfest.

I didn’t mention anything about the Op’s quote stating the drop was worth $250 Real dollars because that is just obserd to take it that far. My complaint is on the basis that about 1/3rd of the community either got DC’ed or like myself would get DC’ed when trying to log into lost shore which in either case cheated that portion of the community out of their loot or even the chance to participate to have a chance at the loot. As for the reports of multiple looting of the chest most of which was on the same character. I am guessing it was a bug due to poor programming on anets part. If they Looted the chest more then once on the same character then that should be delt with. If they ran the instance on more then one character then I say its fair.
The best solution would be to strip the loot from everyone who participated and rerun the event. Also the one time event isn’t fair for those around the world so to be equal I would suggest having the event 4-6 times thru out the day allowing the chest to only be looted once, wether its per character or per account I’d leave that up to anet.
This would be the only true way to make thing right and equal opertunity for the entire community.

Re-running the event might work but…
Stripping loot from everyone? I had to laugh… Are you serious?
Why punish players who actually made it to the chest. It wasn’t their fault that Anet had a brain meltdown, was it? They put in the effort, got lucky, and I’m glad for them.
