Change to 4 Generators to be destroyed
No easy mode please.
It is infinitely possible with all 5, and the more people who do several runs, the more likelihood of success.
Have a few from each lanes to hop lanes, usually does wonders.
The problem servers have with 5 generators is lack of dps. Dps harder and have enough people at each lane and it’s piece of cake.
Did 3 attempts up to now (1 patch night, 2 last night, people at each attempt were more or less the same):
1st attempt: 1 severed chain
2nd attempt: 2 severed chains
3rd attempt: 3 severed chains
It’s just a matter of learning how to fight the champs, there is no need to kill it at day one…

I agree with you all, personally i think the difficulty is fine. But think about it, is it really fair to have the possibility of success decided on how many numbers you have?
Why not have the chance of success rest upon the large proportion of the lane winning, not the entire lane. We are always going to have random players who wont be able to do the boss.
This event only triggers hatred against the horde of terrabaddies. Seen so many players go full DPS on the easy trash at Marionette like their life depended on it. But are superslow getting through the portal and once inside they start autoattacking (at best), can’t dodge and can’t move away from the champion.
My double facepalm today was when the last circle started ressing dead after the champion instead of nuking the power generator and time of course ran out.

Exactly, you were punished, not for your lack of ability, but from the lack of ability from others.
Or have it so the groups next to you can at least range into it.. helping that group if needed… I’m so tired of it failing do to one group.
If the groups next to each gen could at least assist a struggling group. May help a bit and makes sense.
Personally, I like the way it is now. It’s not a guaranteed kill and is a fun fight. Individual performance errors are a factor and I understand why people are upset about it, to an extent, but it’s a great fight to be a part of. Yes, we all hate overflows but with lots of people trying this out, I find overflows can be successful too because they are also full, at least during prime time.
Yea, some people don’t know what to do yet…it just came out and trying to follow an explanation in Map Chat can be confusing with 50 people saying different things, overlapping each other and inserting things they forgot out of order. While there are guides online, some gamers want to experience the content on their own first and I don’t blame them. I do not think they should change the fight though, especially since it’s a limited time only kind of thing and it’s been downed by many servers and overflows.
I’m conflicted because I know how bad waiting around and putting extra effort into a boss can be for some types of gamers, people have more responsibility in their lives or previous engagements….not all can be on all day. A lot of people want to log on, do the LS in a day and be done…only to go back to grinding or whatever else they may do when their LS is done.
For me, I love this addition to the game and I welcome hard content that can’t be done within an hour. My favorite gaming moments and victories come from working at something and improving my personal game play to defeat the boss. While this event does rely on A LOT of other people to do their part, it’s a game and a community. I cheer on the other platforms when ours is done, but even my first time in I was not as aware as I am now.
Sorry to read all of the posts of people having issues with it and even though I do think there are improvements ANet can learn from this, I have really enjoyed the encounter and this release of LS.
Server – Yak’s Bend
Yes, Portal Sickness is about like 4-5 minutes. Which means if you started at lane 1, you can go to lane 4. Lane defenders only need like 20 people, you can handpick 1-5 who specializes in DPS to jump lanes.
People also need to realize they need to carry revival skills when they’re on the platforms.
I kinda wish it was like what OP said. Or make it so more people can come in if there are defeated players on the platforms ( and possibly port those defeated off the platform if it can’t let more players in since defeated players can’t do anything and most don’t waypoint).
