Has it been removed from the daily already or is that just a fluke for today?

New living story tomorrow so there won’t be. The new living story daily will be available after the update.

yeah me too, i have wanted to complete the meta achievment but was impossible.

Well great. Just great. Why can’t they just tell us at the beginning how long we have. Guess this meta is out for me.

I sympathise, but this has always been the case. The first day has TWO dailies (once when the patch goes live, and another when reset hits), and the last day has nothing.

On the bright side, Colin confirmed in an interview that the Marionette will be around for 2 more weeks, as will its achievements, so you still have time to get the meta.

Frankly, they could have left it as part of the daily. And if I have been unable to get the achievements done by now, I doubt two more weeks will help without having a daily for it.

The daily has always gone away at the reset before an update. The only exception being if there are two unrelated living stories (e.g. Wintersday & Nightmare Ends)

I understand what you are saying. However, this game just makes me angry too frequently. No other game has ever had that ability. Games should be fun, not constantly frustrating. I think it just isn’t for me. I don’t like this constant deadline. It is too much like work. I’m going to do myself a favor and give up on it.

Assuming you don’t beat any wardens, you could earn 5 achievements points. That means you need 6 more to complete the meta. There were 14 dailies the past two weeks. It was completely doable.

I also do want to point out that the Marionette is not going away and you have another two weeks to get the meta. You’ll just need to do the achievements specific to the Marionette to get it.

I remember back in the days when there were no dailies that counted for the meta. And you had to do the actual achievements for the meta-reward.

The point remains that deadlines should be communicated in the game itself, on the achievement pages, as well as here on the forums – not some third party website interviews (and in some cases, not even that).

I always assume they (and the meta itself) will be removed with the next update, unless explicitly stated otherwise. I would say that is a rather good way of thinking. That means you will be sure to plan accordingly.

You either get two weeks or a month. It’s pretty much been like that since launch. Since the last summer, there have been daily living story achievements that count towards the meta. There have always been plenty of dailies to complete the meta meaning you don’t actually need to do a single achievement for the living story to complete it.

I’ll point out again that only the specific living story daily achievement is going away. The marionette will still be there. This just means you’ll have to do the actual achievements for the marionette to complete the meta.

10/11 and My trying other archivements keep missing today. If there was a daily today, I could complete. I grow very impatient to like this anet’s cryptic act.

How’s it cryptic when they’ve been doing this for the past 8 months?

It is annoying and it is something so easily overcome – it doesn’t even need programming time because it can go in the patch notes. This thread comes up every week, has been posted countless number of times in the CDI but it never gets a response. Whilst not ideal for everyone, the advice Lordkrall gives is pretty sound to go on.

Also, whilst its usually 2 weeks or a month, there have been times it has been different. A couple of metas carried on longer and whilst it was the first update of a month was 4 weeks and the 2nd update 2 weeks, that has changed as well. So it can be tricky to know when an update will change.

Except all living story achievements have been easily doable within two weeks. A percentage of players even complete them all the very first day of an update. There are even dailies that allow you to complete the meta with incredible ease and requires less investment in time.

It may seems disappointing that the end dates are not released but it wouldn’t matter if it were two weeks or over a month. People procrastinate and these same people would still be struggling to complete the meta regardless of how long it were possible to do. Fortunately for the marionette meta, ONLY the DAILY living story achievements are going away. People still have another two weeks.
