Q:
Like the topic says at least for the first week the spawn timer of the marionette should be much shorter – the worm is ok but I thought the marionette is a temporary boss and goes away after some weeks – and so some people have not enough time to wait after every attempt 2 hours for the next spawn (30min or 1 hour) would be much better I think.
Edit: This is only about the marionette and not the worm! – Some people seem to missunderstand me

Yeah, some of us have families and work and don’t have time for standing around for hours or guesting everywhere trying to complete the event.
I’d prefer to see the spawn timer reduced
Waited two hours or so after a failed attempt for the next attempt. Got disconnected mid-fight and couldn’t get back in. Thanks so much! Not.
I think 2 hours is fine for a boss. Otherwise it becomes trivial and farmable (and people would just camp permanantly and block others getting in to that server). WHat it needs is in between activities/events either leading up to it or in the aftermath (depending on win/loss) to keep people occupied. Even if it means taking players to other zones.

And some of us in general just don’t want to wait around for hours just so we can die on a badly designed boss and pay repair costs for no rewards at all. But your reasons are good too. :p

Overflow though.

Im not talking about the worm – it stays permanent and so Im fine with it, but the marionette i think is a temporary boss and so it would be nice to give everyone a chance to beat it up, not only the people who can play 10hours a day (hamming up but you get it i think)
Edit: All those typos – Im sorry
Timer needs to be reduced and clearly displayed. It’s disappointing to see that they learned absolutely nothing from Tequatl.

This boss is temporary. There’s nothing fine about making a temporary boss be on a very long timer – especially when its the goal for the current living story. They said in one of the interviews on this patch that the marionette wasn’t supposed to be a tequatl level boss – yet, it definitely requires the coordination that tequatl needs – if not 10 times that much.
Does she spawn at the same time across servers?
2 hours is way too long. A one hour window is ok.

I think so, my guild mates where spread across many overflows and it startet everywhere at the same time

You made me laugh… farmable. What is there to farm? Aetherblade pieces? I know, Molten Alliance pieces. The champs DO NOT drop even a blue or green when you kill them. There is nothing worth farming in these events. And I agree waiting 2 hours for the robot is insane, it is only temporary. I waited way too long for it, and won’t ever again. The only loot, after killing a slew of minons/vets/champs I had was maybe 40 of various combine pieces a few junk items and one green for when the event failed.
Are polls allowed? If so, maybe someone should start one…

I totally understand what you are saying, I just don’t personally agree 2 hours is a long time. It just feels a long time because all there is is 2 bosses and nothing else and thus waiting in a zone for a spawn feels even worse. Some activities would alleviate that a lot.
I guess it will also come down to how long this “temporary” boss is around for. If it is 2 weeks, then I concede to your point. If 4-6 weeks+ then I stand by 12 spawns a day being adequate.
on a scale of 1 to Tequatl (lower being better) how does this rate for those who have done it so I know if it’s going to be a hair pulling experience (and my hair is short so that means tweezers for me)

The point is, most people can only attempt the fight once a day or maybe not once… Not everyone has hours of hours time maybe just 1 or 2 after work or something – for being a !Story! update the timer is far too long I think (and it seems its not a problem to you, but there seem to be a lot of people that have problems with this)
Ty for understanding ;D

The learning curve seemed less steep than Teq. A lot of us were standing around for a few days no idea what was going on with him after launch. This one seemed clearer what to do. But, it still requires a similar level of coordination. In terms of difficulty, there’s been a few successes, so that would indicate its a bit easier too.

Fair enough, I’m not going to argue. We are all allowed differing points of view
p.s I knew you meant marionette btw

Good to know there exist diplomatic people
- didnt Edit only for you – had to make it clear, so there will be no misunderstanding
I find the spawn time annoying. I was on the platforms fighting the boss, when suddenly I was disconnected to the character selection. Logging back in put me into a fresh overflow where the boss wasn’t even spawned. Now I have to wait another 2 hours to fight the boss again, and then hope a disconnect doesn’t happen. Why can’t there at least be a small time window where reconnecting puts you back into the same server you were in?
Well, she does spawn at the same time despite main or overflow, so I guess that is a start…

I agree, two hours is too long when the content is temporary and plagued with DCs.
Not everyone can sit around all day waiting.
I don’t mind the timer length. But can we at least see the timer?
Such an inconvenience to stand around waiting, when we could plan accordingly based on the ticking clock.
It should have been instanced and started when 125 people were in the queue

YES this please! 2 hours doing random kitten while I wait, then get plopped into an empty overflow…
It would be nice to reduce it, but remember that more stuff will come in the next couple months. Plus, what is the big deal. Run around and kill stuff until someone chats it into map chat. And if you don’t have two hours to spend then better luck next time. I get that you might not get much from killing randoms monsters, but it sounds like you’re playing to have fun. Why not try out strange builds or level new classes by completing that area on ones that don’t have it. Especially if someone in map can tell you how soon it is, you should be fine. Why do people complain so much when the game has so much content and living story wasn’t even promised at release. Sometimes I think people would be happier if ANet didn’t even make DLC. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. That’s all I’m sayin’.

Actually you have a chance of getting Ascended weapons or even a whole Ascended set from this…
Uhmm… They did this intentionally. They staggered the timers for Wurm and Marionette so people could do both. It works too as I’ve done both repeatedly. You show up for one event, finish, switch maps, and you only have about 30 minutes until the next event.
It’s actually a good concept for people who want to do both.
Heh, even with 2 hours timer I already am farming this event. If changed to 1 hour, I don’t think I will ever leave the map >.<
Yeah. To the person who said you can’t farm this.. well you very well can. Keys drop pretty good and then you go and loot Scarlet’s Lair.
