Went to Marionette’s Landing as per the in game mail and there’s just a bunch of people waiting for something to happen. Where’s the event? If this kind of thing has to have a ridiculous timer at least put some activities or smaller events in the area by the ufo.

Timers. We need a timer that says when the event will begin again. Standing there waiting for it? Not good. At least tell me it will start again in half an hour or an hour.

Hopefully they can get it up on gw2stuff.com so we know when it is up or how long we need to wait.

Then it’ll be just like tequal where you have to get there an hour earlier anyway or you’ll end up in an overflow with 5 people… The event should loop right away, or after 15 minutes max.

I keep saying that timed bosses are a no no they need to stay away from.

I was just about to make a thread about this. This is horrible, I log in, get a mail that tells me to go somewhere, I go there, and then nothing, just a bunch of people standing around. And now what? I have to stand there for hours doing nothing and wait for the event to start? This is just bad.

And because waiting is boring, I did the story instance thing in the mean time, once finished I ported back and got pushed into an overflow.. just great. Of course nobody knows when the event will start.

I have no issue with bosses on timers, but I agree, the zone needs smaller events across the zone, to set the scene, build setting and occupy players time. Its one of the reasons I loved the hunt for dragon clues for Teq. It was something to do.

It will balance out eventually mind you – it is day one and everyone is just wanting to get stuck in. But, extra events would improve the experience I’d say.

Yes I after agree 100%. Games used to revolve around you, now you wait for the game. 21st century progress I guess.

Anyway, one tactic that may help is if you got more than 1 character is put them at each starting point. One in Bloodcoast, one in Lorner’s Pass. Then instead of waiting, you can just log in to those every now and again see if you get lucky with boss event.

Meanwhile play alt 3…

Best LS update to date I say!
Thank god they had like six weeks to polish the event to bring it to such greatness!

We need more of this.

If only this was an option.

In reality, you have the choice between standing around for circa an hour waiting for the fight, or porting into an overflow of failure. There’s no way to spontaneously do Tequatl – and with more boss fights requiring this and all spawning on the hour, people will be split up between them so it will be even harder to get into an organised group.

Guild Waits 2.

I agree. HATE timers.

At least make it if the boss fight fails then each time the respawn timer takes LESS TIME. (Yes, instead of punishing people give them a chance to learn your completely random mechanics, please.)

The way they’re going with this kind of content just isn’t wise. It’s like typical MMO stuff and people are sick to death of that. I hear some of us might even have bought GW2 on the premise that it wasn’t going to be this cliche.

Or just put in a longer series of pre-events that requires a certain number of people to complete, so it is up to the players of and when the boss spawns; and meanwhile, at least you have something to do.
