Let me know how to get a whole server to change their ways. If you can change how a whole server acts, you should write a book about influencing people for fun and profit.

As for irony, I’m fully aware of what it is. It would surely apply if I was one of those that treated SoS and BG poorly in the past. Since I wasn’t, it doesn’t apply to me.

You should try letting go of all that irrational hatred you have for SoR. (and anyone from a game for that matter)

I’m sure you’ll respond with some more of the same, so I won’t bother saying any more in regards to your issues with SoR, and anyone from there.

I don’t let this game or anyone in it affect my time playing it, but there are others that surely do overreact. Try to consider their side of the whole story and not hold them accountable for a small,select few.

Cries of battle and coordination could be heard from the Lowland’s courtyard to the Great Western Gate of Stone Mist.

“Got one right here, putting it on the gate house!” – SoS upleveled minion mancer

“thank you!!!” – BG upleveled ranger with no pet out.

Do Russians count? If so:

BG: Coin, HB, RK and ZDs(they’ve stated they’re leaving in the future, possibly at the end of Season 1)
JQ: None that I know of, could be wrong though.
SoR: IRON and AFTL

I don’t think any server else has any decent-sized EU guild that is WvW-focused.

JQ has French guilds [SR] and [TOHU]. Both are smaller in size, 15-20, but are awesome

My level 22 guard has rank 15wvw after 3 hours of karma training. It’s not a good factor to prioritise queue over.

It’s great you admit BuyGate is so stacked to the gills one can bring a level 24 up level, hide amongst the massive pile and and rank up to level 15. Wow!

It would stop anything short of a zerg, though. I don’t know about other servers, but on SoR the north camp is frequently lost to 8-10 players. Siege at the gates stops that and forces the enemy to devote more time and effort to steal a simple camp.

Tried it by myself this past summer; one ballista, my turrets (engi) and the guards were enough to hold off 3 havoc pushes by…I wanna say 8 people but one may have been a Mesmer and clones, it was a kittenaotic.

Anytime you can hold onto an objective with 1 person instead of 10-15, that’s a plus in my book.

Eight people would roll through the two guards and one player (regardless of class) at that choke. I’ve done it enough with fewer people to know. If this is representative of the kinds of ideas you think will bolster SoR’s performance, then it’s no wonder they’re ignored.

The problem with SoR right now is that (for whatever reason) there are few commanders online after 9 pm PST, and most of the ‘Rallians’ on the map aren’t in TS and are unorganized and outmatched by the organized groups fielded by the other servers.

In your reply to Letoll you suggest that SoR WvW guild commanders should split up into 8 man groups and capture objectives on different parts of the map. In the post I responded to, you claimed to have held off an 8-10 man group with just a ballista and 2 NPCs.

I said “…I wanna say 8 but one was a Mesmer, so could have been clones”, therefore it was probably 4-5 people and a Mesmer’s clones. But according to you, now it’s 8-10. In a week it’ll be “Remember that guy who said he could stop a whole zerg with 1 ballista? Lol!” and the server will remain just as it is.

I did it by myself, at one of TWO gates, just to see if it would work on a small scale. It did. That’s all I needed to know; siege placed at chokepoints holds off small groups. I haven’t seen it tried since and- as I keep pointing out -everyone else is too busy theorycrafting to even try it for themselves. It would be really quite funny if it wasn’t so typical.

That would be because the smaller, distinct groups idea is the goal, with “protect things while they make up their minds” an intermediate measure to correct a loooong standing problem.

Now this I agree with. Sird,Transfer to JQ prior to the week 5 matchup and help them beat BG. This way week 7 is a toss up again. Week 7 won’t even come into play if BuyGate beats JQ in week 5.

My level 22 guard has rank 15wvw after 3 hours of karma training. It’s not a good factor to prioritise queue over.

And why would you want a T1 server to implode? To have less competition. So I guess you do not care about competition and just want easy win.

We all want a server who puts up a fight, not one who resorts to PvF as soon as the opponents put up a little competition. TC would be far better a T1 server than the current SoR with that attitude of theirs.

I’m sure the “Arms race” or the mighty “warchest” was implemented for balance. Our servers were actually balanced before ZD came over.

Why do certain people from BG care whether SoR puts up a fight or not? Worry about your own server, and let SoR handle it’s own. The politics and health of another server shouldn’t be anyone’s business but their own, regardless of who they are.

The vast majority of the BG posters that post their vitriol, have some unhealthy hate for SoR. Holy crap, it’s a game. Is this the common mentality of people these days? To irrationally hate someone they’ve never met, to the point of wishing that their community will implode?

The anonymity of the internet makes it so easy for someone’s true nature to shine through. That’s not always a good thing to see.

e.g. Fann Wong. Every post I see from him is diplomatic and friendly/kind in nature. I won’t name names for the opposite types. You know who you are, and it would likely result in the post being removed.

TLDR: mind your own server business, and let SoR take care of it’s own.

Read up on some of the history behind SoR and BG/SoS and you’ll see it is well deserved. SoR had this coming.

It’s fueled even more by the fact that when SoR caused SoS to implode, many of us went to BG and that a few weeks ago, they were trying to bully SoS as many people from SoS have said so in this thread.

I appreciate the concern but its unnecessary. The same dedicated core that’s been fighting you since T2 is still here, we’re just playing less.

In the past Rallians and Beastgaters were putting in the same amount of hours everyday. The time being in the 6-8 hour range. Right now our guys are only putting in 2 hours a night so it appears like we’re losing people but we’re not. Similar to your guys playing 12 hours a day so it gives the appearance you have more than what you do.

I’ll worry if we no show in the week 7 match but WvW was never intended to be a 1v1 so there’s really no concern on our end about the poor attendance.

I think it is precisely this drop of play time from 6 hours down to 2 hours that we are worried about. There is a fine line to walk between “play for fights” and “giving up due to losing”. I believe “play for fights” means you guys come out play 6 hours (or whatever your usual hours is) regardless win or lose. When the play time suddenly drops to 2 hours when you are losing, people have to wonder are you not deriving the same enjoyments from fights anymore when you are losing in ppt?

During times when going gets tough, it is easy for militias to get demoralized and start to play less, it is the WvW guilds that need to held your chin high and come out and play as much as you are used to in order to hold server morale, otherwise it is only a matter of time before people get disgruntled and leave the server. We are not asking SoR to play 12 hours like some on BG does, but SoR guilds need to at least play your usual amount of hours to hold your reputation as only “play for fights” and to hold your server up. This is what you guys did in T2 and you were a hard nut to crack back then. However, many are worried that we are not seeing the same SoR attitude as back in T2 now.

Am more concerned about those putting OT in for weeks on end for a meager reward in a video game. Anytime I hear BG commanders boasting of their 12++ hour sessions for leagues, I envision BuyGate commanders looking like this guy pwning and it just brings laughter

Don’t be. I assure you everyone who’s playing long hours is taking care of themselves by stretching, replenishing vital nutrients and drinking plenty of water. Blackgate thanks you for your concern though. We appreciate the sentiment that even though we may face one another through videogame warfare, it’s nice that at the end of the day we are all regular people enjoying a game.
