We got a raging clue when we saw SBI and Mag in the same match-up.

…Also I am willing to bet Mag does indeed have fairweathers, just not as many as servers of this tier.

I think we pretty much stopped playing for ppt after passing SBI. In my opinion I think most of us just really didn’t want SBI to win, yaks just put the nails on the coffin.

We have fair-weathers to, and instead of blaming them when they abandon us, we welcome them when they join us. And a lot of them have joined us the later part of the week.

Also, I think Mag’s morale may be suffering just a lil bit, but shhh, don’t tell them I said so.

It’s pretty rare all 3 servers get extended periods of being in first place during the week.
If we don’t see either server again before Christmas, happy holidays. =)

I think the big difference in the last couple of days is that we focused Mag more. This even seems to be true for SBI.

I’m pretty sure during the first half of the week we only focused SBI. Everytime I saw Maguuma show up to either our siege or SBI’s siege the first half of the week, I felt sorry for them. It was like they were jealous that nobody was playing with them.

You act like we don’t know how to handle being outnumbered. I still remember trying to get enough people on our home BL during your late morning karma trains back when free transfers stopped. LOL Yes, you traumatized me!

Our priorities just change to keep morale up. If we fight them, we do….it’ll be fun due to the fact that we haven’t either ever fought them or not since the game first started. So, it all works.

Stomping/finishing people is only happening in small skirmishes from yaks I can confirm. Many of our zergs just go straight out NUKE IT NUKE IT ALL mentality until you’re either running away or few stragglers.

Maybe you do, but i prefer to drop a combustive shot and pindown on downed players then spam /laugh as they struggle to rally while slowly dying from bleeds and burns. Its so much more entertaining than stomping.

Mag talks big, but all I see are zergs and trash roamers using FOTM builds that get destroyed by anyone with a brain.

No weakening of morale here, well idk about the fairweathers (if we even have anymore after league). I just enjoyed the few fights I was able to receive and inviting yaks to party asking for 1v1’s winner gets keep. No one accepted :/ kitten you oceanic players.

Yaks and Mag have faced like 30 times before, so I take it yaks has new PvE faces on their siege that don’t know what they’re talking about

Well, here’s my take on it, could be right or wrong, or somewhere inbetween.

As always, it’s the cause of a combination of things. The main fight for the win this between us and SBI. First, SBI pushed us down to third on the weekend. Then, the numbers turned more to our advantage during the week. Some of our commanders played more and rallied more people for us, and the patch reducing SBI numbers were probably the largest factors (but who knows, really). We got a foothold in SBI bl which further decreased SBI’s numbers/morale. Since we were too busy fighting SBI, Mag basically just moved into first place for free, even though they were just all over the place and never focused on anything. Then once we established a lead on SBI, we finally could spare to send significant numbers to Mag bl for an extended period for the first time since Friday.

Anyway, great week everyone, it’s been a lot of fun.

I assume you’re talking about open field GvG type engagements, and yes it’s true. We are short on dedicated GvG/zerg busting guilds (we lost another one recently to FA).

Some of YB’s guilds are working on it and are improving. Obviously very worthwile to complement the PPT WvW game, which we’re pretty darn good at. Not to mention, GvG/zerg busting is just hella fun and good chest thumping material.

So, I empathize… steamrolling mostly militia/pugs/noobs/etc gets old quick.

Only guild that puts up a fight on YB is [SE], but the second they lose numbers they drop pretty fast.

Good fights to them last night btw you got us a few times, but we figured you out

Also to the SBI on that BL last night, build more siege pls not quite enuf.

Oh and had some really good fights with a TE ele ( Charr D/D) who showed me that I really need to practice with thief some more.

Just wanted to drop in and say that this weeks match-up has been a blast. When I logged in after work Friday night and there were no queues and I saw the score I was like “oh kitten we are kittened….”. Then Saturday and Sunday were the same and we fell to 3rd. At this point I honestly was getting mad because we normally reset hard as hell and encounter queues pretty commonly the entire weekend.

Monday got a little bit better but still look rough.

Then Tuesday hit and some of our regular commanders and crews started hitting the coffee pretty hard and rallying the forces. Comms proceeded to get very interesting as the days went by and we climbed up to 2nd and then finally into 1st. I’m pretty sure a few of them just tapped in IV straight in with the caffeine.

All in all, it has been quite possibly the best week of WvW I have had in a while. Got to roll with some of our heavy hitter guilds a few times and got my teeth re-arranged by [ARK] a few times as well (you guys… jeebus you hit hard).

Lastly, a shoutout to my fellow Yaks, way to stay in the fight till the end guys.

Added an additional listing for reality. Applies to all servers, and every WvW guild.

Let me be clear about one thing. Magumma has a tremondous NA presence, quite capable of, if pulling it off right, fighting tooth and nail and decimating our NA. No question about it, but right now you guys are still in the mind-set of the gold league…where you had to effectively go large and tight to at least fight the atrociously stacked servers that lay wait up there.

I do not want to ask about how much…let’s say ‘moisturizer’ you needed to at least survive, but it has definitely changed Magumma as a whole. You guys are far different than before, in good and bad ways.

As far as I am concerned, making the ‘excuse’ of not fighting good fights is not quite as low as ‘OMG 2v1’ but fairly bad nevertheless. If anything, we could say ‘Well Magumma kind of sucked at going for objectives, like I have seen bronze league do better’ but us and you guys have known each other a long, long time.

Don’t worry, the feeling’s mutual. If Mag is just going to keep chilling outside and fail at holding anything they have, then Yak’s Bend is just going to keep enjoying seeing you guys lose.
