You’re too critical of yourself man. SF did a fine job against rough opposition.
GvG’s aren’t the Superbowl or anything, it’s just a fun alternative to the more random battles we normally have. It’s a shame we have so few guilds willing to do them because it cuts a lot of the less exciting stuff from wvw.

I think our veil caught some of you. Yeah someone said its Ben Sheets new guild, but I noticed that your commander is running some kind of heavy + hammer (Ben Sheets still runs with his thief for the most part?).

To me, I am not a fan of GvG. I have been a part of them before and have watched several.

They are just extremely boring. There is something exciting about planning, organizing, and executing a keep take over. Knowing the enemy will show up any minute out of nowhere to try to keep it. It requires both guilds to think on their feet through the use of their environment AND their players.

Whereas a GvG is two blobs running into each other than running in circles slowly dying off. Get back up and do it again. Yay?

Breaking news: Moments ago – big fight in JQ BL – BFD vs HB vs RET + SoR zerg. Impressive showing from SoR. No wonder why BG lost their Garrison so quickly.

To me, there is something exciting in designing a group composition, theory crafting builds for optimal group synergy, and then getting the group to function in a coordinated manner. Then comes the actual fight where all that hard work gets put to the test. Did your group get split by a well placed enemy CC? Are there thieves wreaking your backline? What is the status of your team? The enemy? In short, it’s dishonest to simplify gvg as you did.

Seiging is fun (it can incorporate those elements above and offers more variety) until it turns to PvD. Then it reeeally sucks. On the other hand, GvG always delivers a challenging and unique fight.

Yup, challenge and unique. Whoever stays in a tighter ball wins the day.

Guilds form class specific builds for group synergy for open field fights.

Everything else is accomplished in WvW battles, plus a lot more.

The only thing GvG accomplishes is even numbered fights. And saving time from running back from spawn for getting wiped.

Some footage of BFD vs BG @ EB. We normally don’t do EB because of queues, but we didn’t have one today so we were able to get all of our folks in! BG had a “JL green warrior commander” and also a good zerg going (SM almost WP’d, tons of siege, etc..) – except maybe the last 30 min or so.

Dat SoR Golem rush on JQ Garri Doe. WOW!

That SoR Golem rush on JQ Garrison was pretty scary, never seen so many golems in one sitting(At least 25-30 or so?!). Good thing people came to rally at garrison after we spotted the omega zerg bashing down Redbriar. Luckily for us, barely any of the omegas made it past watergate inner. It was definitely an interesting experience to say the least!

Yo. I ran my last week mostly with SG. The last days there with stonewall and map hoppers, very very fun.
This morning was fun. We took QL and that started the biggest fights I’ve ever been in. We had tagless groups running, Omen was one guild I think. The fights broke out at QL, lowlands, then west sm. The BG groups that were on EB this morning were pro, for real. I’ve never seen so many jq in my life. I at one point thought you JQ had a wp in SM because jq seemed to be respawning in sm and running right back out to the fight! Biggest zerg I’ve ever encountered. Great fights.

What’s been going on the last few days? I have been in wvw roaming with a small group and I see enemies but they are all hold up inside keeps. Why does no one want to come out and fight? Are all the guys who like open world fights over at the gvg stuff?

Bad timing perhaps? There was a 3 way Battle Royale Weds night in OS. Other nights I’ve seen plenty of action in open field from Apex, OnS, EE, SF, Icoa, BFD, just to name a couple.
