Roaming and messing with necro builds in 3 hours (12 PM EST start). DH or FC can message me if you want fights. I’ll be the brown and green asura with the dry bones hood. Otherwise I’ll be taking whatever camps I can find in FC or DH BL.

Like others said before we REALLY needed this match. Week after week of not being able to hold anything long enough to upgrade, it puts a huge smile on my face to see WPs in keeps. I recently made a guild [Lost] and we just been enjoying having a fair fight with the numbers we have. Good luck and good fights.

10+ banners I’m sure. It was a LOT. I was the necro who kept plague form suiciding to stop the circle until the golem got there. That was just a fun (if panicky) fight all around. All I can say is: Thank Arenanet for citadel WP rofl.

I really wish we were losing this match up so I could PvF myself to sleep, I hate forum warring when I’m on the winning side it seems so petty and what’s worse is that everyone I’ve partied with from DH and FC seem to be really cool dudes so far, only bad thing I can say about this match up is, stop taking my upgraded camps!

Keep it up everyone and good to see so many fighting it out from FC and DH especially to the roamers I’ve met on my travels (charr mesmer)

Odd ramblings on the status of WvW for Dh follow:

The more I reflect on this situation, the more it sucks. I mean, IoJ is supposed to be weaker than NSP right? FC and Dh are situated right at the bottom of t6 (I think), which means we’re almost always gonna have 1 server from higher going against either/both of us. And when we don’t, we’re gonna be fighting servers below us and tbh… do they really stand a chance? It’s possible, a lot has changed post league… but did it change that much? I mean, Dh sure has changed. And look at poor SF! Unfortunately, it seems like Dh and FC can only hope for a close fight from each other from now on T.T

Regardless this week has been somewhat boring outside of NA prime, which is no ones fault really. Speaking of NA Prime, Holy kitten SM last night. Simply amazing, Great efforts by DH and FC over and over again. [Yarr] was extremely annoying in our corner flipping camps and hitting yaks we were trying to get in.

Respect to DH and FC. I’m sure both of your servers need a break as well, I hope you all get it soon to rebuild and restructure your WvW (Especially DH after losing so many guilds the last few months).

If it helps, I have a negative opinion of all but three servers (aside from Dh) in the former bronze league so being “eh” to me actually means you’re beating the average.

Hehe, Not just you just in general it seems like people have been more and more hostile towards us. While I get there are boasters and what not, every server has them. We all do understand the position both of you are in, many of us sympathize as well. Glad we’re meh in you’re books though

To the [OTD] spirit ranger I just stomped, good fight, only reason I stomped though was cause I was clearly sitting down watching an epic fight between your guildie and mine, the 2 wars battling it out ontop of umber hill was just plain epic to watch.

I have to admit I don’t get that either. It’s not typical for IoJ to try and “play god” or side with one server (which is basically what these “balancing attempts” end up like). And besides that, DH has been trying to rush our IoJ-bl-keeps at least 9 times yesterday and flipped all our IoJ-bl towers and camps repeatedely and still some of our commanders wouldn’t hit their bl back – not even to ease the pressure on our bl that was only defended by a few players (guildgroups like TRBO and Wolf and some mixed players from other guilds, thanks for focussing on defending our own bl instead of karmatraining, guys). Ok, the last part actually is typical IoJ, once we switch to karmazergmode most people always need at least one catastrophic wipe of your bl keeps to remember that there is a homefront to defend too. It’s almost like winning isn’t good for us (it’s like alcohol- we are not used to it due to our moslty outnumbered matchups the past months and therefore can’t handle it) :P

Well, IoJ has some specialists in the forum that seemingly love to boast, threaten and provocate (often even making their own people laugh with their boasts because they simply look like fools). It’s certainly only very few, but those few that scream the loudest will always shape the public image of a group, especially when the rest of the group is ignoring their behavior. And it’s not only on the forum, a example from the othe side: we had a DH guild messing up our towers yesterday, they played very coordinated and smart and earned a lot of respect at first; but then they started jumping/laughing on the corpses of those who would still come out to fight them. The image of their guild changed within 20 minutes from respected enemy to arrogant emote-kiddies (despite their good playing it was their behavior that then dominated the opinions about them). And yes, I am fully aware that some of our IoJ-groups tend to do the same thing (I despise that), you just notice it easier when you are one of the corpses . We actually have a some guilds that have the guildrule to only use emotes in WvW that are respectfull (like /bow, salute and kneel for a good fight) or friendly (like waving to the DH on the other side of the cliff).
If you notice something like that as a commander you can always ask people to either stop or leave the zerg.
And in the forums you can always ask people to simply shut up or at least make clear that their opinion is not the opinion of you (and in case of gleaders their guild). Most “boasters” stop sooner or later if they realize that they don’t even have their own people behind them and are just making fools out of themselfes.

Another factor in both matters (IoJ-playstyle and respectfulness ingame) is of course also the fact that once we face an easier matchup our numbers seem to double, suddenly you see lots of players and guilds in WvW (especially the karmatrain) that you normally only see in PvE during the harder matchups. It’s even making some of our commanders go crazy, because these good-weather-players have a notorious problem with things like using supplies to build, not runnig ahead of the golems and alerting the enemies too early, not chasing stragglers, focusing on cannons/oil, not hitting gates while passing a tower and generally not shooting at every trashmob the zerg passes.
One good example is how none of the mostly-pve-messmers in EB seems to have the portalspell for golems these days, even if the commander repeatedely begs for it. You can see at least 4 messmers (you have never seen in wvw during the hard matches) running ahead of the zerg but only the 2 regular-wvw-messmers are on the golems doing their job.

First off, I apologized for this ankitten o longer doing it. While closing the gap was a bonus the main reason I focused and choose to focus on FC is because of [Yarr] nothing else. Second off FC was still a good bit in the lead when I stopped and said I wouldnt play favorites anymore.

Again I am the only one who claimed to focus FC in Euro Prime, Not IoJ as a whole, so no one should be making claims of IoJ as a whole doing something when they arent. What other people choose to do is up to them. Theres no coordinated effort to make 2nd place close.

Lastly I’ll say this. FC has more coordinated guilds than DH. That alone makes our guilds go after you, as you will provide more of a challenge than pugs ever well.

Allow me to clarify this whole “handing DH second place” rumor.

To my understanding, our strategy and intent was never and will never be to “give” anyone second place. We decided to focus on FC during off hours because FC has been extremely aggressive in NA prime (i.e. that HUGE 60 man blob + 2 hour siege on SM the other night). In response to FC’s aggression, we figured it’d be best to focus on keeping their assets paper so that their NA is more focused on defending/upgrading than on attacking our lovely SM (according to Saint, we need it for roleplaying purposes).

The side effect is that DH caught up some points. However, our goal wasn’t to “let” DH catch up, and if you’ve been playing in off hours, you’d know that we hit DH as well. In Oceanic prime, every single day this week, we’ve taken DH’s corner first. When I logged on this morning, we held DH hills and DH’s EB keep. We’re just being strategic in hitting FC because we think they’re stronger in prime time this week.

If anything, IoJ has had a history with DH and would much rather FC came in second, if we had to pick at all. If FC just focused on hitting DH while we hit them, they could easily maintain their lead. However, I repeat, we’re NOT trying to give anyone second place.

edit: Also, Banzie is one commander who tagged up for a few hours one day this week. That says nothing about systematically handing second place to DH at all.

If I understand them right, it’s not about winning or losing 2nd place for them. They would prefer IoJ to hit both sides equally so they can test their strength on equal conditions. If IoJ starts to try and prefer one side (or always help the third place) the win will just feel kind of empty, like “Would we have done it without IoJ’s help?”. And the loser would always feel like “We would have won if it weren’t for IoJ helping them”. Not really satisfying for both sides. And some comments put them under the (apparently wrong) impression we would prefer one side (the one always on third place).

In short, they don’t want a babysitter for 3rd place, they want us to be the bad-weather-front hitting both sides equally, making their duell more balanced and challenging for both of them.

I like to be in the other boat, and focus DH due to their [Nova] guild being the /laugh sort.

No one is playing God. Or pretending you’re “kittens”. It’s called strategy. A tactic DH used to be extremely good at. Except we’re not farming the “easier” server in third place for all of our points.

Been great fights all week, if you have issues with each other lets keep it on the battlefield. You guys have some great guilds, and this week has been a blast. Let’s keep it that way. We’re all recovering from seasons. Rebuilding etc. But just because IoJ is in the match up doesn’t mean we’re a silver league server…we just got stuck there thanks to week 2 transfers (A LOT OF THEM).

IoJ doesn’t love this match up because we’re in first. We love it because we can actually have fun again.

Even if they emotespam you, don’t get down on that level. Keep your head in the game and respect the other team (especially since most of their server AND their guild don’t do that stuff).

Oh I made a game from it instead, 1g per [Nova] spike and 2g per [Nova] ele and the bounty was active for 3 hours, ended up paying just over 30g in the end but even my guildies had a blast from it which is all the matters to me,

Thus far you have been a welcome replacement for HoD, but even though HoD can be kittenes they are kittenes to both sides equally.

It’s not all of IoJ only focusing our stuff. It’s just Banzie. According to IoJ they’d rather see FC get 2nd place. They said so.

Hello Folks,

Last night was a very conflicting night for me. This was one of the first nights in a long while that I was able to command and not worry about the home front. I took over Seriphboi’s group in EB around 8ish PM eastern and finish what he started in removing the way point out of Darkhavens EB keep. After finally doing that I had to think about how I wanted to direct the battle, do I hit DH until there beaten into submission or show Ferguson’s Crossing some love.

Set these goals while commanding; Under any circumstance was I to lose our EB keep, respond to attacks on Stonemist if there are no defenders there, and defend our sides towers if there past paper, and finally PAPER EVERYTHING in EB.

I took unnecessary risks with the zerg to hit fortified objectives first and only weak objectives if there wall was down from SM or I needed supply. If I was not actively taking things then I might as well line up all the people on a wall of SM and have a dance off.

I try to not pick on anyone side and apply pressure if asked when a IoJ group/guild is else where and needs to weaken a side. As said IoJ has only won one match in about 10 weeks and only got second once during the 10 weeks. We understand how you feel and we all know it sucks, but short of telling people to get off WvW and go do the The 12 days of IoJ or world boss stuff, people will be there looking to fight and not have have to worry about else where.

Trust me we don’t want to play god with the places, and we have no beef with both sides. Also I am happy to see that both side have the fighting sprite and will come to the aid of there server and pull off some really marvelous attacks. I do hope both servers get more people and coverage that way we can have more close matches and epic moments!

Also both servers are invited to come and guest onto IoJ and partake in some of our events and talk with some of our people as long as it’s civil and in good sprites! Maybe we can work out a deal and have a Holiday event in SM with all three servers.
