There was a reason why BP asked Yak’s guilds for GvG a few weeks back, and not the Mags guilds. There is nothing BP gains by beating unskilled guilds with bad attitude (PYRO, DARP etc.). Again, you can try.

We’ll never be as good as BP with the glorious Calvin with them.

From my point of view, I thought we did fine. I got on when SeaBear and Maggy Pie were pushing our 1/3 together, and got us down to just our keep. They kept pushing, one after the other (think there was one push where they clashed, but for the most part, one would wait for the other to wipe before pushing). After 4 or 5 wipes, including a fight in our keep with lag to rival 3-way SM combat, we were able to start taking supply camps.

Maggy Pie’s population seemed to disappear after a few wipes, and we started taking back our towers. As of this moment, we just regained our 1/3, without losing our WPed keep.

Granted, I couldn’t see what happened before then, but we did just fine while I was there.

I don’t really appreciate people badtalking [Agg] in here… they’re a really good guild, and I feel like [PYRO] learned a lot from them in our GvG. 20v20 is pretty tough for us, so we hope to improve.

If anyone else is up for some friendly GvGs, just PM me. I’d love to get some 5v5s and 10v10s going, too, though.

Then some thief came and rent my plush body across the rocks. Little did they know I was a mesmer doing evil mesmery things. I almost got away with it!

It’s weird though, I checked the PPT a few times, and I saw at most 1 keep taken, and never expanded beyond that… it was more like we had no people in our BL and the Maggy Pies just logged. Maybe I just looked at the score at exactly the wrong time haha

Just passed by to give a shout-out to that Mag thief from [iLL] roaming in SBI BL a couple of minutes ago. I was that DB staff ele you were engaged with near vale, and I must say you gave me a run for my money (despite me falling in the end.) Was about to compliment you when my connection dropped

Contrary to what I was led to believe, the majority of Maguumans I’ve encountered so far have been nothing but classy, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the fights you bring day in and day out. Believe me, I and many other former JQ residents have been surprised at what you’ve been able to bring to the table in terms of tenacity and skill.

Before this match-up, I heard Calvin mentioned every now and then in conversations. I have to admit, that raised my expectations so I am quite disappointed to see the real thing right now. The only thing that makes Calvin remotely interesting is that he seems to be the only Dragonbrand player who makes his intentions clear, as opposed to all the passive-aggressive posts from his fellow Dragonwagon passengers. This said, I find that Calvin is overrated as a troll and his provocations are rather crude and unimaginative. In fact, Sol puts a lot more effort into his posts and does not rely on his reputation so much. I’d argue that Sol is an underrated troll but that isn’t relevant to the current discussion. Basically, I’ve seen far better trolls, people who rarely repeat themselves and make their true intentions a lot less obvious. I would equate Calvin with RC Cola. A few people might consider it better than the competition while the majority of Coca-Cola and Pepsi Cola drinkers never even heard of it.

This thread is awesome. I didn’t know Maguuma could cry so much as a server. I stand by my statement that I miss the old Mags.

SBI you are a new face to me, and I still don’t really know much about you guys, as you rarely come out to play, forums or otherwise. Keep on truckin

Had a few good fights this week, mostly it’s been a thrashing sadly, it’s not any fun for DB either running over everyone, hopefully next week all 3 servers get a more appropriate match!
