All of DR went into this match up knowing we couldn’t win due to our poor night coverage, anyone who did was fooling themselves.

I wish i could be bothered to go find all those threads where DR said they were going to stomp us, those people are the reason im like this on the forums, im just glad we finally got to show DR how strong we actually are without a powerhouse server, but its now obvious DR will always find a reason to try and put our server down one way or another and my forum ranting will stop after this week

Despite my random chest thumping, I’ll revert to humble IoJness. You guys in NoqqADBsty have always been a hell of a threat from DR. I have the utmost respect for you all. Be it only AD, only Bsty, or just NoQQ…it’s always interesting. I know some of you took a break for a bit after the NSP incidents, but I’ll go out on a limb and say if you all were in full force things might have been a little different. Maybe. I don’t know. But I know when DR used to dominate IoJ…the few oceanic bros I ran with would spam red flags as to where/when/how many of you were, if ever spotted.

You guys used to literally scare the crap out of pugs….informed pugs the most. Not patronizing a bit at all here. If you all take the high road and stick it out in DR you’ll be Legendary if not already (as a post exodus IoJ’r I hope you do). You’re awesome players, very organized & very much a threat. If you were to branch out and teach the masses I’d be very afraid of DR.

I only say used to because I’ve yet to see more than 10 of you in a group this matchup. You used to roll your own mini zerg. Either way, I say it all out of respect. It’s been a blast playing against you guys because it’s been well known that you are indeed a challenge.

My only excuse for being a tool in this thread is simple, DR has in the past been tools towards us on IoJ….a lot. Whatever happened to you guys, stick it out. You’ll recover eventually. If IoJ can, you can too. Bottom line is, a lot of us have wanted to beat DR for a long….long time. And it happened. So it’s over as far as I’m concerned. Hell you beat us out of how many tiers? Either way, it’s been a blast. Clearly this has been the best match for IoJ since Christmas. And despite any nonsense I’ve posted, it’s been a blast.

Well, that was unexpected. We’ve lost some people, but more out of burnout playing the game than anything else. Most of us actually prefer running 10 and under but it can be really hard to find enemy groups that run those numbers as well. That’s why we engaged you a few times when you had us outnumbered. Not because we thought we’d win but just to break up the boredom of looking for some good and challenging fights. Unfortunately, it’s usually the case of not being enough enemies to be a challenge or too many enemies that are just way too much to handle. There is not a lot of fun to be had in either case.

Tots and myself said it earlier in the thread, but [HARD] has improved since we fought awhile back ago. Your open field movement and, particularly, the discipline of those following your leader are very good now. The only real way to win when outnumbered is to divide and conquer by stretching and turning to create some separation. But, you guys were having none of that. Good job there, it’s amazing how many groups still fall for it (including organized guilds).

In terms of how DR does on the scoreboard, we really don’t have a huge impact on that. There are a lot of guilds that do the thankless, dirty, and (IMO) boring work there.

Congrats for the win. On a side note, I personally don’t consider the server coming in second “beating” the server that comes in third. The server on top has way too much influence on that outcome.

Much respect in return. As a commander, and a die-hard IoJ’r I shouldnt have been such a pridemonger, but again….dat history. You guys are awesome. I still second guess myself and any group I’m running with when I see the triple threat from DR tags in red on my screen. Luckily…doing better than being in third has its perks.

As for HARD, we’re proud of anything the server accomplishes. As for GEN, Starkk and the Aussie bros they’re just as proud. What some people don’t understand is that these guys stuck it out when everyone abandoned the server and have be struggling ever since. The feud & fate of DR being against IoJ for so long hasn’t helped. But gloating happens. You guys are beasts in your own rights. You murked us for too many months in a row. Honestly, seeing DR fall so far so quick and losing like this is a surprise to me…but I honestly, sincerely want to tell the WvW community there…..stick it out. And when your server rises again you’ll be thinking and maybe even gloating on the forums like old Crimmy. Proud as hell. Except my alcohol tolerance is better. I wish you lot luck in the next match, and I hope you crazy guys take out any anger you have on the new matchup…hopefully we meet again sooner than later.

IoJ may be headed right back to Dark Isle of Sorrows. Who knows. Anet is scary with the matchups. All in all…great games everyone.

awesome fights at fightclub tonight, had a blast going up against the all engi group and had alot of fun in that 5v5 even tho we lost. love how many people showed up! would love to see more guardians tho i personally love guard vs guard fights, they are intense haha. and big props to the mesmer from [roam] that fight lasted long but you got me haha (im the sylvari guardian with the sunrise).

So true. We went down from Tier 2 to 6 and we had to step up to defend our server. I, personally, am not a WvW player before but IoJ was being demolished to the ground we need every single player’s help to defend it.

Hurrah for posting Crixus!! This was an amazing 2 hours here, we held FC Bay against the odds. Just goes to show you Siege really doesn’t help with offensive strikes.

Well, siege does help with offensive strikes unless you can couter it effectivly, which we were able to do for a long time last night at FC Bay.

VP are suckers for a bit of open tower/keep defense, we do like it more than we really should, so I say lets get rid of all the walls

Seriously though, thanks to everyone that was there at FC Bay last night, including the FC zerg, you changed up your tactics a few times and put up a bloody good fight.

It’s most certainly not the reason you are the way you are. The idea you had anything to prove to DR doesn’t change anyone’s opinion of your server other than your own validation to be proud of where you are from. Not sure what wounded your pride so deeply, but most of the things said in the thread’s entirety regarding coverage are fairly accurate.

The NA prime time match-ups have been very close every night between all 3 servers and were there no huge gap in overnight presence, this would be anyone’s fight with the winner most likely being determined tonight and anyone’s game.

It would probably benefit you to be a little more humble in victory, just saying…

Ever since we tried to explain to Charrcat this foreign concept of sieging, he’s ran off and never been seen since. Regretfully Jezri was saddled to him at the time, and so we lost her as well, proving yet again that having a Charr as a mount is probably not a good idea. They waited for it, that’s the thing. They weren’t running up. They went into stealth, AFTER they noticed someone was donating blueprints. They didn’t even attack first. The FIRST thing they did was take the blueprint and then they ran off. They just a kitten move.

It wasn’t infront of the spawn, it was in front of the tower, literally outside the gate. I got a message saying “Hey I have some blueprints for you” and they started dropping them.

Also, I KNOW DR is sending spies. There is definitive evidence to support the case and if you’re denying it then you’re fooling yourself. Belittled is a spy and we’ve proven it time and time again. He never leaves WvW. He hasn’t gained any achievement points. He only just recently started responding in chat. He only shows up when we’re fighting DR. He never showed up when it was SF and DH. Don’t even try to lie about it.

Many players on your server clearly support play that is not in the spirit of WvW. Spying and stealing blueprints? I mean, I can understand if this was T1 or T2 where spying has some advantages, but this is servers from the bottom 3 tiers. And the only reason I say they stole the blueprint was because they did not attack, not did they stay around to fight. There is a difference between accidentally picking it up and then fighting and going STRAIGHT FOR IT and then running off.

Here’s the thing, guys. If you don’t play for 1st, i.e. both smaller teams go against the bigger one, then the bigger one simply manipulates who gets 2nd place. We held off on a lot of FC territory in EB last night and were rooting for FC out of respect when we could have steamrolled everything but the keep for another -40 ppt off of them easily.

Play for 1st, or 1st place plays you. Simple as that. Playing for 2nd is a myth, because 1st place manipulates who really gets it.

O.O…… I’m speechless and a loss of words. Thank you from all of us for these words. I know i noted, on more than a few occasions, of the improvement I have seen of your guild and congratulate you all on that. As for you saying, “If you were to branch out and teach the masses I’d be very afraid of DR.” This has already happened with a few guilds on DR such as DDLG/REGA. Some great people in there and DDLG/REGA have taken some of our lessons and have found their own glory. I used to run with Envy (now XOXO on another server) when I was on Ferg for a few weeks. We had some people run with us a bit and transfer to Emry bay & I will let you figure out who they are. And just recently we had some Borilis Pass people transfer over for a bit then went back to use what they learned. You can check out the BP thread to see us mentioned. Our numbers get thinner in the interim but their has been knowledge transfer to others to help them in their endeavors and I’m/we have been happy to help.

I would like to congratulate the IoJ Oceanics who pulled an all-nighter to defend the FC homeland. Never has a door-bashing mindless zerg so tirelessly defended a borderland not their own to give 2nd place to a server that did not earn it. Patiently, the IoJ PVDOOR crew, would over and over they zerg down a camp we took, then wait for the lone FC guy to come and take it back. FC you should be very appreciative of the gift IoJ gave you out of spite.

Considering their numbers FC did deserve second, as they did fight us well.
If you want to blame someone, blame IOJ as they decided to play King in off hours and spawn camp us. I am actually hoping that FC gets second and good points. As it will mean that there is a higher chance for us fighting them in the next match.

2nd place is a myth.

^the perfect example of this was tuesday afternoon, North American time. The double team from FC and DR was amazingly fun and challenging, and simply too much for IoJ to handle. The sucker punch from DR right off the get-go put our logistics at risk without a SM waypoint, losing it right off the bat.

We’d maneuver, defend, etc…but the attrition kept grinding tower after tower and hour after hour, we’d make a mistake here and there where one team could launch a raid and nail a tower. And even if we could get it back, it’d stay paper…all night. DR were magical in their supply raids, it was almost impossible to get any yaks through, and DEFINITELY impossible to even get doors on a tower, let alone anything else. We ALMOST got doors back on the castle, and FC came and slapped that down, and we didn’t have the castle the rest of the afternoon.

More of that, all week long! MOOOOAAAARRRRR! It’s a magical thing, it puts the lead server on the backfoot, it keeps most things paper, and it keeps the less fortunate servers in a position to hit each other. You don’t hit each other UNTIL the dominant server is hurting badly, and generally staying in their own corner licking their wounds. Tuesday was an amazing day. MOAR TUESDAYS!

Advice on teamwork from IoJ… how amusing. You seemed happy enough to play for second by stomping on poor SF for the past few weeks. (Not to mention way back when we used to fight, your server got a well deserved reputation of being a bunch of backstabbers.)

Oh well, I suppose I could waste the effort listening to the tune you’d sing in the next matchup if you’re up against a dominating server.

And IoJ continues to cultivate its reputation. That’s not a good thing, by the way. “Don’t play for second!…even when we force you to do so, out of spite!”

I felt the need to prove to DR that we could be them and as a whole we are a better server. We have obviously done that and my forum ranting will slow down a lot more now that it is clear

Havent denied a single thing about coverage except when people are saying we’re only winning because of our oceanics, it wasnt just us that got us the 100k lead.

Caring too much about things that you have no control over is almost as stupid as insulting people for things that they have no control over.

I miss when match up threads were filled with friendly conversation. Especially in regards to calling out good fights with people from enemy servers.

GG DR took long enough and enough of you but you finally capped our bay. Didnt realize its so hard to take a keep w/ no supply and 4x the defenders numbers

I will agree that IoJ’s server coordination is better than DR, but that’s expected from a server with more coverage.

I think people from DR are trying to say IoJ is a bad server because they pick the strategy that always puts them 2v1 against their opponent. This doesn’t make them a bad server DR. They are just using a way that gives them a heavy tactical advantage. That’s war guys, deal with it haha.

However, we have noticed IoJ, no offense, but the majority of you are just absolutely horrible in open field combat. I have died less in this matchup small group/solo roaming, than the last few matchups we’ve had.
I think the fact that a lot of IoJ would much rather run to the Zerg, than fight in open field just frustrates some DR who seemingly can’t figure out basic divide and conquer tactics. I hope they leaned from this matchup, thank you so much for all the fun this week.
