The time has come to write the word “end” to the League Season One.

So i would like to give some personal feedbacks about this!

To Vizunah Square, you took the First Spot being unbeaten, i noticed a slight increasing desire to fight and i hope you can keep up going in this direction improving your abilities. Your numbers online at any time of day and night are very impressive and as everyone knows this is the key to victory in WvW. Nothing to say but Gj.

To Piken Square, indeed you were really unlucky having to fight SFR and VZ so many times. I just hope you can understand there was nothing personal in any of the matchups we had and even more i hope we can bury the hatchet and build mutual respect once again.

To Baruch Bay, you are the server i respect most, best open field battles, you do not run away and always fight in any situation, i had best fun ever fighting againist you. I am just sad that we only had one matchup together! That’s bad!!

To Elona Reach, though we had lots of fights in the past being bound in the same matchup for so many times after hundreads fight i still enjoy play againist you!

To Jade Sea, very nice come back in the last two days of the week six, was so sudden that you impressed me and lots from my server. We look forward to have more interesting fights againist you! And ofc Gj on your Second Spot!

To Riverside, Kodash and Augury Rock, too bad that you had to fight againist servers who has much more coverage that you have, but players quality is another story, and u got it! I have enjoyed any matchup againist you due to the high quality of the ground fights u can provide. Really well played!

To Anet, thanks for organizing the League where i had so much fun. Thanks for making such a good game and thanks once again for giving this game so much attention.
If possible give us a dinamic ladder for the next season, it would be much more interesting!

Yeah, it’s not your fault that the schedule was like that. Some things could have been handled differently (I guess from our side as well) but at the end of it all we shouldn’t get too angry about such things, it’s only a game.

I hope noone would have any hard feelings once the league is over. Let’s have some fun fights in the next matchups without having the shadow of the league over our heads.

Because SFR was the only server where you had the WvW achievements active?? Every server has had WvW achievement hunters, this is no excuse because all servers have had this issue.

But I too, wonder about those BL queues, how on earth does the enemy get such huge numbers while yourself are only a fraction of their numbers…

To be honest here, some servers have very low pve populations. For example, during the first matchup Piken’s problems with achievement hunters weren’t as severe as Seafarer’s ones. We had the occasional group in the ruins/jp or those berserker geared warriors rallying the enemy but it wasn’t that lack of order that SFR seemed to have.

SFR, being the only international server in the gold league that could have beaten Vizunah, got a lot of transfers before the league started as well. I know that many of my Desolation friends transferred to SFR for the possible first place in the league. To give an idea on how many transferred I’ll tell you that I usually now have more friends online on SFR than on Desolation (where I have been for many months and have added a lot of people) and I’ve only added three SFR players since I started playing.

So we have only two international servers in gold league, one that had a high pve population AND just got a lot of WTJs and the other one having practically zero pve population. In case it isn’t common knowledge, Piken’s pve is pretty much just a couple of champion trains and the occasional guy walking around, usually alone. (Our cities and taverns are full of life though)

I remember going, kinda late at night, in the jumping puzzle of one of the borderlands to get the achievement (Piken didn’t even have a queue at that time) and I saw around 20 sfr in there trying to jump from one rock to the other. Piken’s jumping puzzle people at that time were 3. My two party members and me.

The ruins were kinda similar. Teams of max 10 (usually a lot less, I did most of the achievement alone) Piken players capturing a ruin for the achievement followed by a huge blob of SFR ones taking it after them. Blob big enough to capture half of the map in a matter of minutes.

TL;DR : SFR wasn’t the only server that was hit by the achievement hunters but it sure was the only one that was hit so hard. Sorry for all the people that left the server because of that.

I read on reddit a lot about your points not from ppt but I never imagined it would be so high. Did you have any special teams dedicated only to that?

we have a lot of small scale guilds that run setups of 3-6 ppl roaming groups. switching the bloodlust buff, taking camps, dolyaks and of course killing a whole lot of people. 3 days ago we had a fight 3 vs 15-25 ( depends on the number we have stomped, they always came back ^^ ) the fight lasts 20 minutes and we did around 100-120 stomps. pretty awesome fight, sad that noone recorded. at the end we had to run from 30+ ppl. kitten ae limit of 5 ppl you can hit. hits us small scaler the most.

Piken has a very healthy pve population.And it was a major problem in the first week.We were losing open field fights everywhere because of the rallybots.This calmed down after the second week.

I won’t lie, this is really impressive :O

we have been in the top 3 with points not from ppt since the bloodlust buff was live the first time (depends on enemys performance and their matchups ^^). we are very proud for this achivement.

i just attack the keep guards when i pass by to get the reward. you will see me once a week in a keep ( for a afk break ) so i need something to other then pve crap to show the results of my work ( and the work of all kodash people that think the same as i do )

@Graendall.4765 : Piken’s pve community is a really friendly and nice one – quite possibly the best one I have seen, but it’s not a big one in numbers. Wait for a scarlet’s invasion and you will see the difference in random pve players in Piken and servers like Vizunah and Seafarer’s Rest. While we did have a problem with the pve players (especially those that ignored pretty much everything that was written on mapchat) we didn’t have extreme problems. At least not during the late evening to morning that I usually play.

the problem with vizuna is they run if they dont outnumber you 2:1. we take fights 2:1 if the are the outnumbered and still win and stomp.

I have to disagree here.Just go to EB puzzle map and see for yourself.Yesterday i was helping a fellow guildmate to do the puzzle so as to get the WvW key and 3 berserker Vizunah Rangers where camping the jump before the dark room.If i was not on my warrior i would have never gotten past them.As for their sportmanship they just laughed and danced and do /sit on the faces of dead players.Its not the first time i see it.Ofc i am not judging the server as a whole everyone has bad apples.

A huge THANK YOU and all the respect to those who still support open-World PvP and cavalierly kept the spirit high. Many of us wouldn’t play but for you. Again, thank you.

Please, PLEASE Anet: do NOT implement more achievements to WvW. Dedicated players do not want nor need them.

We shall bury the hatchet….firmly in the skull of seafarers server whenever we meet them.

As it stands we are spending much of our server meetings discussing issues like how we are having to move and protect our teamspeak because of the ddos attacks that your server chooses to use on others. Seafarers is a server that cannot be trusted, on the battlefield or off of it and they have rightfully earned their bad reputation.

There will be no magically happy land in which your server is forgiven for their poor attitude, disreputable tactics and general backstabbing in combat. Any server with good sense will exterminate you whenever the opportunity arises and it is entirely your doing in forcing their hand in this way.

So just accept that and do not fool yourself that it will ever be otherwise, Kresh.

Just because someone from SFR is (was?) causing problem to our Teamspeak server doesn’t mean that the whole server is at fault. Same goes for the pretty obvious spies during the league from a couple of servers (with SFR being just one of them, at least on the first matchup).

Piken took this chance to start building a better TS and learnt (mostly from Jade Sea) how to counter spies once they are identified. We don’t need to only look at the bad side.

I’m pretty sure that they won’t keep up with the weird tactics now that the season is over. They have no reason to destroy their own fun when there is nothing for them to gain from it. Let’s just have fun this week (and the weeks that follow it) without too much rivalry.

Good luck in your new adventures. You have showed us the huge amount of server organization that can be reached, even I also don’t enjoy the VS play-style.

I think an only 7-week league does not show all the power. For me, that video should represent all the work VS has done since 25 August 2012. Despite being defeated twice in specific moments, you have managed to maintain all the power no matter what.

Then, thanks to all for the amazing fights all over the weeks, but specially thanks to Kodash. These 2 lasts weeks have been very tough for Baruch. You have amazing roamers and your condition pugs are quite hard to kill. Hope you don’t lose all those guilds you received.
And finally, sad for only faced Piken and SFR once over 7 weeks. A matchup SFR-Piken-Baruch would be insanely mind-blowing xd.

Thank you mister Ibn La-Ahad lovely thief squad. I hope all the roots and spirit of VS will remain, but at the moment things looks complicated. Without clear objective/challenge VS loose some rage too, that’s what i would answer in the other post to the SFR player.

Thx mate, we are quite proud of what we did and how we did it. With a bigger effort we would have reached the second place, due to the fact that in our confrontation with Jade the final difference was just 1,5k points and the previous day we had an advantage of 8k points. Jade did frankly well the last day in gaining a great victory that at the end took them to the second place.

We did it based mostly in our guilds and innovative strategies.
As many people realized we are much less based in random blobs than other servers. The reason is probably that we have several really dedicated strong guilds as BULL, SIN, RNV, WAR, IMP and several others.

We have an alliance of small guilds who gather in the same map and coordinate themselves to beat as many objectives at the same time as possible, being able to join and destroy enemy blobs when necesary.

At the same time several small-medium scale guilds dedicate to roaming/ninjaing with big success, HERO, KMLT and others make a great job.

We also created and developed the Order of Shadows [OdS] in which most of the thieves of Baruch are trained in combat, stealth and infiltration. In other servers the action of the Thieves Brotherhood is not perceived in its real magnitude mainly due to the fact that we enjoy distraction and stealth infiltration, but our server adores us.

Our Karma train is well established in the mornings with competent commanders and we created an ad hoc specifical combat organization for the nights.

So, when fighting Baruch you could find a map of small coordinated guilds, different squadrons of dedicated GvG guilds in other maps, organized structures outside prime-time and thieves, many thieves. Due to this reasons our style is much offensive than defensive, it gives us less rewards (since defend is easier and better in terms of ppt) but we enjoy it a lot.
I think that everybody enjoyed and was surprised when fighting us.
Remember, Spaniards named and developed the Guerrilla Warfare.

To say the true in our forum there are just a couple of videos showing Shadows beating Bukas in fairplay. But it was decided not to place them in the international forum because they do not show the “big picture”, that we can also be beaten.

I was informed that one of our thieves won 5-1 in duels against your best thief, but I also know that several classes could get the same record against some Shadows, so not big deal there.

Being uni-class is good for several things and a handycap for others…
