Since I saw this argument thrown around couple times, gotta clear it up. Deso might be high populated, but it’s full of exclusively PvE oriented players with very little or no interest in WvW. You know that when you see a PvE commander tagging for the reset with MF stacking sigil on to escort dollies… We are blessed to have some really dedicated, skilled and experienced people on this server who are actually interested in playing WvW and helping newcomers to adapt without being elitist jerks.

The most of piken guilds dont wanna play for score, we just wanna have good fight and fun in open fields and we hate when they heat your kitten in keeps, towers with 10 ACs. So much bravado coming from Piken. They wait for us and AM to start fighting and then they flank one of us hoping for some easy kills. An honest fight, indeed. But then they start dying, and then they turn tail and run. AM stays and fights, Piken runs away at the first sign of trouble. Have you ever tried attacking a Piken tower? There’ll be a small zerg running right past you towards the nearest door. Then they’ll start raining down on you from the ACs inside. Open fights, my kitten.

For your information: FG used to play on Desolation. When many guilds left Desolation in Spring 2013, some of them expressed at the same time that they would someday want to return to Desolation. What is wrong about coming back home?

Calling it band wagoning is just insulting.

I am not saying SPRT is full of bad players, but you are one of the biggest blobbing guilds on Piken for sure. Your guild team + PuGs following you is one freaking blob. For comparison our guild TLA hasn’t been able to muster more than 15 players lately to WvWvW. Often our numbers just mere 3-7 players, so of course most of us then run with some other Desolation guild (besides myself, I do some solo roaming every day).

There seems to be constant exaggeration of Desolation numbers, inflating them to twice as much or even more.

We had some epic fights last night at Piken BL. We took the Bay despite we had the outnumbered “buff” on us. Please don’t spread crap telling that we had more players when we have the “buff” on us. It was obvious that AM and Piken both had more.

I think the reason is that it is harder to kill 20 ppl with 20 than with your usual blob of (35+)guildies + (10+)pugs

Regarding GvG… SPARTA sucks at GvG the reason is simple… WE SUCK AT GVG!

But again – Open filed battles are always more skillful compared to planned GvG. in Which Desolation definitely SUCKS.

Regarding FG, I am glad they left cause they were only taking up space for qeues. I still dont see anything wrong with Piken Score as we are a 3 hour community and during those 3 hours Piken incomes the most even with no Qeue on borderland just couple of small medium guilds running lose on border which a single blob from deso cannot handle. So come back and fight us when you have some skills – when you can defend your own T3 keep against a single Piken guild and dont have to hide inside with 2x numbers and still lose it.

And Sparta never plays borderland where we dont have 2x our numbers. You may ask Jue from FG about it. I am sure he will second what I said. So when you say deso was just 20 and sparta was 35 + 10 and killed you, took your t3 tower. You are just anotehr Liar. Wow, you 35-40 guildblob with several lucky pugs kills 50 deso pugs that are not even in VoIP. And retreat back to garri when 2 20 ppl guilds attack simultaneously. That is great victory, yeah, lol.

You can think about your server and your guild anything you want – but other than [VII] guild (they are very good and terrifying, with just about 18-25ppl) all your guilds most of the time clustered in one big blob. Or like in [SPRT] case is a big blob itself.

i always thought far shivercry is #1 at qq , but piken outnumbers em it seems since that week – piken is a server with guilds with max 20ppl and do not communicate with other guilds to group up to a bigger blobb IF the enemy server has one ? hmm i would call that stupid ?!

Actually, I find you are wrong in that conclusion Valkjre.
From what I’ve seen and encountered, the deso groups are actually not that easy to kill.
They got decent melee and a lot of CC.

Compared to the AM groups that tend to walk around in zerker gear. (at least in EB, not sure about the other maps)

Can i have pictures or, maybe, video, of 70ppl deso blobs at borderlands, lol?

And, yes, if you post a video, where there is not only 70 ppl deso blob presenting at borderlands, but you are killing them – i will take all my words back and say that you are really skilled guys.

I can give you them all from this week if you want to make bold statements like that for your guild.

I am from Abaddons Mouth. First of all, thank you for a very interesting week in WvW against two very strong servers. It was really exiting to see the skill levels and experience of the guilds as well as the regular players on both of your servers.

Then again, when I read this thread I wish i received one dollar every time somebody used the work “blob”. I would no longer have to work I guess

In my opinion, accusing a server from T4 onwards of blobbing is like saying that water is wet. You just dont get to that rank without manpower and where should that manpower be if not on the field. If you want to maintain or increase your rank or to lure your enemy into fights you might want to consider taking a keep or tower from time to time. But taking a keep with 20 guys can be outright impossible. Sometimes even 100 are not enough (Desolation Eternal Battlegrounds Main Keep – I’m looking in your direction ). So “blobbing” becomes unavoidable at some point even if its just to match an opposite server that decided to take a keep or tower with force. So there will be blobs/large groups often depending on how the servers play and I think complaining about these is rather pointless and repetitive.

This is the exact opposite of what our server (Abaddon) tries to do. We decided that we want to include every player as well (PUGs and guilds alike) and create one big community instead of a “separate guilds playing coincidentally on the same server” model. I am no real fan of the latter and would not be surprised when players or guilds leave your server looking for a server with more coverage, more talk/discussion and a general more open attitude. But then again it might also be exactly what certain guilds might be looking for.

Sorry, but I think AG is no match for Piken Square (not even close). They have one very good guild that can match you in skill and numbers (TUP), but the PUGs on this server are just like on any other server and will likely not be able to provide the good fights you are looking for. Dear Deso and AM, we love you. Please, come in any numbers you like, we don’t have problems with “blobs” at all. This kind of complaint is sooooo 2012, you know, and I’m happy that Vanz already stated it here — only a specific part of Piken community has these issues.

Everybody who like fairplay and challenge is welcomed behind the windmill. A pity that on this week only Hot and CE guilds from AM have played with us (thumbs up, boys and girls!) and nobody from good old Deso confirmed (or even was interested at) GvG with us.

I don’t want to be a prick but that might not be as surprising as it sounds. There is quite number of reasons why nobody was interested in an 1vs1.

1. Most roaming builds have an abundance of movement and/or stealth skills that makes them (almost) uncatchable if not specced in a similar way. Whenever things get rough they can just leg it and slowly fade into the horizon. I am personally not too fond of fights that I can only lose or not win either.

2. There is a small but significant difference in builds for team fights and solo fights. There is a good chance that somebody with a team/support build is not able to match an 1vs1 player even on similar skill level.

3. The players you wanted to fight is merely on the way to his group/zerg/blob/megablob/ultrablob or even blobs of that size each server always accuses the other server to have and is really needed to support the group in a fight right now.

4. All of the above

Edit: Elvicof, if his number is correct he killed one player about every 2,5 Minutes if he was playing 4 hours a day. This expands to like 17 minutes per kill if he was playing 24/7 (and I seriously doubt that he was playing 24/7).

Slinging accusations, calling entire servers “unskilled blobs” etc, etc, is childish and pathetic. Have I been guilty of arguing on the internet? Sure, we all have, but I’m man enough to admit I was wrong. I don’t care if Piken is saying it, or Deso. Seriously, grow up. All this drama over a video game. -.-;

Well, from my command observations this week, I saw a lot of mindless “chasing” from abaddons and desolation, which suggests they have a lot of pugs without any commander supervision.

The most hilarious incident I witnessed was last night, where my forces and desolation had been going back and forth at stonemist for quite a while. Abaddons turns up, sees us, charges us and completely fails to appreciate the massive desolation force we are fighting. This ended with them running around in a panic and all falling off the cliff that overlooks the road from stonemist to green keep.

After that, desolation and my force returned to what we were doing and scratched our heads at the strange “abaddons lemming incident”.

My advice to desolation is that they need some decent pug commanders. On occasion, one of their actual commanders came back to EB from the borderlands and the difference was tremendous. Should Desolation get some commanders for the areas where they are simply holding territory (eb), then they would capably dominate all the maps. As it is, it was very clear which maps they were focusing on and all their other maps went to pieces.

Piken, of course, has similar problems due to numbers. We can only focus on certain maps at a time, but desolation shouldn’t have that issue. The common perception of desolation forces being mindless blobs comes from this. It isn’t the numbers it is, as I see it, some sort of failing in the commander ranks. Too many Indians and not enough chiefs, as it were.

Its hard to get the numbers correct in the heat of battle when you are being rolled by a 30+ Deso zerg and group consist of a commander and a naked Ranger.

But hey at least Piken presence nearly tripled after that! Then the Deso zerg jumped border and we could not find them or engage them
