These sub-forums show us all dem feels though.

Guilds are dying off anyways. Within the last few weeks I’ve seen many hardcore WvW guilds and commanders pack up and leave. It’s going downhill, and fast. I do not think EoTM will solve the problem, even though it was created with good intent.

I’m not sure how…..but i’m pretty sure this is DB’s fault…..let me ponder this.

This change is so sad. A lot of the stuff on here was gold and there were some decent discussions every once in a while.
Oh well if anyone is sad about this just watched the first minute of this video and I hope it makes you feel better.

Oh well it was fun until it lasted, at least SF can now get their rightful place as the #1 thread locking server worldwide without ever worrying to lose it.

Leave it to Anet to take the way out that will bite them in the kitten in the end. Here’s what will happen.

1. Subforum is taken down.
2. In less than a week you’ll have new people posting threads about match-ups in the WvW discussion section.
3. Threads will get taken down.
4. New players will ask why there isn’t a subforum for those types of threads.
5. 2-4 will repeat until Anet decides to reinstate the subforum to shut those people up (I give it 3 months).
6. They’ll decide to shut the reinstated match-up subforum down at the end of the year, and this will repeat.

This isn’t my first song and dance dealing with this sort of thing, and Anet isn’t the first MMO company to make this foolish mistake.

This too is true. We’re concentrating the poison right now in this subforum. When it’s down, the barrier is gone, it’ll spread to the rest of the forums.

It’s a self moderating forum. On 5 or more votes on comments, if the comment is below a 2 star average it’s deleted. I can adjust that as its needed.

Comments welcome, if you as the community want to use it as ‘live’ let me know here and i’ll transition it to a full website.

If there’s a lot of ‘poison’ if you prefer to use that name, it means there is something horribly amiss with the game mode: aka. it is not balanced. It is not a competition. That’s not a fault of the community, it’s a fault of the game developers (anet).

Practically every server with a decent community has their own “community only” forum, the point is how are you meant to communicate with your rival servers?

Option A) Only use platitudes or sneakily veiled insults to avoid infractions and hope the thread isn’t locked or deleted.

Option Use an external matchup site like GW2GURU or one made especially for it, if you think the posts in this matchup subforum are insulting, just wait until you read comments on the external ones.

Let’s look at this from a PR perspective. ArenaNet encourage friendly, respectful and constructive communication. Kudos, that is admirable, however we’re slaughtering each other 24/7 in a PVP game mode, not sitting around singing christmas carols.

As disgusting as some of the trolling is, at least it shows some passion and rivalry, people only get worked up about something they enjoy, good luck attracting any half-serious pvp’er to the game when the forum reflects only caring and sharing.

The greatest distinction between the servers was their forum attitude. In the game it’s the same faceless karma trains anyway.

Anet has already gotten a lot of people and especially guild leave the game due to not listen to the players, and now this one will take many visits to the forum. A game without guilds without community is a dead game. Anet Keep it up you are doing amazing.

Games are meant to be played and not to troll, QQ and whine on official forums

If people kept it clean, nice and friendly then this wouldn’t happen, but you always have to see those “forum warriors” making the situations unfriendly and bad
