I think your lack of knowing how TC functions may be indicative of your not knowing just how crippling finals week + new PvE content cripples TC.

But the opposite is true as well – you have a lack of knowledge of how any other server works period. You see how TC has been affected, I’ve seen how FA has been affected (my own WvW included).

My real point here is that all server get affected by these things – and all typically in the same manner – sorry, no unique snowflakes here.

It was really made evident over spring break time. TC really took a hit for a couple weeks during that time. As I recall that was the first time FA beat us. We came back pretty strong the weeks after that. Now it is finals and the same thing is happening.

At least I am hoping this is the case. I know I will not be on this week for finals. Its an odd coincidence if this is not the case.

Unlike most other (all?) servers TC has a WvW militia culture, not a WvW guild culture.
Case in point: Commander tags for guilds only (i.e. “don’t follow us”) are frowned upon on TC.

sure, but the opposite is true, I’ve been told twice to not follow certain group because they are running havok team. I dunno if that’s a legit reason, but just come across as big ego.

Hopefully whoever told you this wasn’t rude when they did, but if you’re running havok, extra folks who don’t know the comp and tactics of the group are really just rally fodder for opponents. When you’re in a small group, one rally for adversaries generally results in a wipe for the group.

Just figured I’d share the mentality behind asking folks not to tag along – like I said, hopefully they weren’t jerks and took the time to explain why.

On topic regarding participation in WvW, I know I haven’t been in game much lately because the encouragement to turtle in objectives and not fight seems to be running rampant through all the servers. It’s just not that fun for me, so I find other fun things to do with my free time more often now. That attitude might be affecting servers as well. Haven’t given up on the game at all, just waiting for the fix.

Finals week, new games, new PvE content, new shinies in the BLTP. Added effect from changes made last week. Some still adapting and some hate change and wander off in search of fun elsewhere. shrug It happens. We’re still hanging on though, and a lot of us are still having a blast!
