Sinema Kane (Redgrass.3067) was talking with one of your guys about it all day then when the time he scheduled rolled around (11PM EST) he said he didn’t have the dudes while we were simultaneously running into a [BURN] zerg ~exactly~ the size we were told was going to GvG us when a few of us were running a 5 man. Seems like someone was making shots who wasn’t quite in the position to do so. Simple misunderstanding and we’d still love to fight you dudes though, there are quite a few [BURN] guardians that frustrate me to no end. Shoot one of us a mail. Try Redgrass.3067 or Fxncy.2398 though, I’m currently busy with finals and not on too too much. I hope I can make it if we get something going! We’ll bring the beer lol

I know these transfers are crazy. I just don’t understand why everyone went to Ehmry and not Borlis, I continually see what a tightly knit community of dedicated WvW players they have, a really solid NA presence. I’ve honestly heard nothing but good things about BP and I would keep it in mind if you are thinking about transferring servers (and miss out on all the fun Anvil is going to have in a T6 match up). Looking forward to SF, if they can pull it together and not be weekend warriors.

suddenly Ebay holding BP BL and having waypoints in our keeps. the AR transfers are more than happy to hit BP and focus BP instead of their own x server ~ hit BP
and now whats left of AR are playing for 2nd ~ hit BP
Original Ebay “as always” prefer to … ~ hit BP

SF are weekend warriors. they get 10k lead at reset night then lose at the end of the week by 20k lead.

none of BP or AR leaving this tier soon unless one of us lose its entire wvw population to Ehmry (transfers)

OK, I’m bored/curious so I want to ask a question to bp/eb players.
I recently changed to a Flamethrower build on my Engi; and it seems to be effective to me (seems to tag a lot of people for drops at least…).
Opinions from the other side?
Char Engi with a pink hat and a Flamethrower from AR; [ALS] tag.
Rest of set generally dyed based on whatever color we are this week
(haven’t tried to run into an enemy portal since I started doing that….)

Exactly! all we needed was some sunscreen, towel, and our swim trunks and we could havegone swimming in the lake! or we could have just killed each other :O. But really, I do enjoy both the servers were pitted against. Besides the forums warriors both servers have a lot of nice people

coordination is definitely the key to rising above uncoordinated attacks. many people on all the servers are already apart of guilds and use those respective guild vents or ts. sadly, the game is called guild wars and not server wars. there really needs to be a better system for squad control similar to games like the battlefield franchise, or maybe even have controls for guilds (considering the game’s name), which would increase the incentive to joining one. of course, that would help the effectiveness of the higher populated servers as much as the lower, thereby in the end not changing much.

many times i don’t know exactly what to do next. i’ve only been steadily running wvw now for about a month after completing all classes, but one thing is sure; a commander that’s effective can pull more numbers for getting things done.

i think joining any particular server is just luck of the draw, but with eventual stacking due to defections things become even more imbalanced. ebay may not see its potential yet from its new defectors, but it’s a matter of time until they know who to run with. then, you’re newcomers, that aren’t new to the game, but are wvw vets so to speak, will improve gains.

We’re still growing up, we’ll get there. Have some faith in us.

Good luck. It took us ages to get to where we were (I’ve probably been muted by half of LA for my constant “join TS” spam over the earlier months of the game). It’s not easy to get people who have little incentive to join it to leave their own comfortable guild vents/teamspeaks, and it takes more than one guild initially to make the “big move” over before people start seeing results.

When you guys finally do get good results though, everyone will wonder why they were so reluctant to move over in the first place. I can sympathize a bit with the people on your server who are trying to peddle it to all the guilds who don’t want a thing to do with it. Again, good luck.

The Transfers from AR to Ehmry were not significant. In fact, having gotten undermined by those who did leave has really helped start the movement in our guild, ALS, which is what we have been pressing for. Give us time, our structure is taking form as we speak.

Ya, it took us rising to mid T4, falling and a mass exodus of some of our bigger WvW guilds to finally start working out our dysfunctional states and coming together as a real team. The evolution can take time. We are far stronger today than we ever were on our first rise though.

You guys on BP dont know just how much Ehmry sees of itself when it fights you. You honestly don’t have much less in terms of numbers than we did in a previous shot up the chart. And with about what you have we overcame servers with similar presence than what you see in EBay on the way. It’s why you see so much backlash when people play the ‘you only win with numbers’ card. We have been sitting in your exact position, and we know exactly what you could be capable of with a bit more organization and commitment to observation.

I do hope you get there.

As a side comment to the people wondering why AR would choose EBay as a transfer destination. If someone isn’t getting what they want out of WvW, and they see what they want in a server they are facing, to me that makes more sense than transferring to a server you know little about. You might end up in a worse situation than you are in now… And it makes more sense that way too than transferring specifically to even out a matchup. Transfers are expensive, so you have to think about what you want to do long term too. That’s not a knock against any server here… Just thinking from the other side of the coin.

Solid 3 way fight at North Sup in EB bl about half an hour ago. I remember seeing some TGS from BP and some BOLD and ORL from AR I think.

Held onto it the first time around but the 2nd time it seemed like AR just ran past and BP was able to take it since we had less defenders.

To the players who left AR…why did you leave for another server IN THE SAME TIER!? Do you think it’ll magically change how you feel about WvW in this tier? Do you think it’ll magically make you have a good time?

By the way, this is me blowing off steam at something I feel is completely illogical, and should be taken as such.

We beat DH because of coverage gaps. DH is beating SF because of coverage gaps. SF would choke on their own tears in T5.

In this very thread, I see people saying “Ehmry Bay got Woes and some CHARR from AR and AR is a better place without them” and now I am reading how “all the transfers from AR are displacing the matchup and ruining the tier”. This rings so loudly of people grasping at ways to point their finger at Ehmry Bay so they could blame them for the mismatch.

The reality is, as someone else said earlier, maybe there is something not right in your own houses if people transfer away from you. Since we have been in this tier, I have seen a lot of communication on these forums and even on the server forums (sorry AR, we still can’t find yours ). As we talk with one another, we see some of the benefits and strengths of the other servers and what they do and we learn. Likewise, we also may end up making friends with those people. BP has used Ehmry Bay players in a video to help raise server awareness of Thief Stealth Skills as one such example.

I have been added to many parties with AR and BP players alike and we talk about the server environment and how things are different about different things. Inevitably people may wish to change servers because of these things. While not everyone moves for the right reasons, some have found a home in Ehmry Bay and seem to be pretty content. Instead of pointing at Ehmry Bay and declaring those who left as traitors, perhaps it would be more appropriate to talk to those people and discuss why they left.

I really have no further comment on the subject. If everyone is transferring in mass, my first question would be “why?” and then proceed to look into that problem, whatever it may be. I’m certain it’s more than simply who is winning and who isn’t. I find it hard to believe people would transfer in mass, with heavy gem fees to boot, over something that simple. You’ve got something internal going on.

Oddly, I haven’t seen any decrease in WvW population, as a matter of fact, it seems like we have more now that there was this “mass exodus”. Funny how the game doesn’t reflect the forum.

No offence, but you guys have yet to experience a mass exodus. 15-30 players is a reality check. 1000 or more is a mass exodus.

When “KREW” left for dragon brand they were a 500 man guild and they took the majority of there guild with them at the time + a pretty big % of pugs we had also went to dragon brand
Then there was WaR, an up and coming skill group much like Sekz/Rekz of around 30+ players that decided maguuma was there place to go the way they left was a kick in the teeth as they left just before a reset and all rady knew our plans for the night… Fighting against them was fun but a constant reminder that BP at the time was still growing and those leaving were making way for a new breed of player to follow through.

With AC’s right now being REALLY kittened up, A LOT of peeps just cant deal with the time its taking to re take keeps etc….. Also i think like some have said its gotten stale now and ive started noticing less and less peeps in the BL’s…… =(

So you lost two bad guilds. WaR wasn’t even good on Mag, I wrecked them and Krew was terrible as well. Ebay has lost around 8 guilds. There is no room for complaining.

Fair enough. To be honest though, you’re better off without a zergfest like Krew. They weren’t anything special when we fought them despite their ridiculous numbers. Our zerg guild beat their zerg guild, and when it comes down to it, they were taking up a lot of spots in a borderland doing nothing more than wiping repeatedly.

Still, I’ll take back what I said. I learned something new, and it looks like BP has had it’s fair share of fairweathers as well.

from what iv heard lately KREW have become dragonbrands number 1 skill group how true this is i do not know.

At the time KREW were the super power on BP along with sbzy but the 2 guilds HATED one another and tore the first alliance to pieces. From there on BP has been re building re structuring the way our wvw is run. I personally pushed BURN to the front lines in wvw although were a pvx guild, i enlisted some of the best fighters i could gave them positions and free reign over certain aspects of the BURN wvw but still 50% of our guild are spvp/PVE players that hate wvw lol. My other co leaders i had to “Convince” the direction i was taking the guild would be for the better and it has worked.

The server has really picked up the changes that ive seen because of ehmry are really looking good. the numbers and the dedicated players you have are something to be envious of, if all goes well in the coming months i hope to see BP in the same direction.

Bring on a matchup where the other two servers actually fight each other.

And before people start spewing out the usual BS remember Anvil Rock was my home a week ago, so save it.

Yeah, you don’t see a lot of quit from AR. Stubborn server with stubborn players. Even vs. the transfer monster that was Kaineng, there was AR with 15 balistas holding the N supply camp in our BL, because they were NOT taking everything. AR doesn’t play for a place, these folks like to fight. Would we prefer an even match up, sure sometimes, but then again, where is the fun in that?

Pestilence is right. [WaR] on BP was one of the guilds that motivated me to play better. At the time, I had never run into a skill zerg before and I still remember a fair few wipes at their hands (one time in our hills in particular, miss those dudes). I don’t doubt they got handled when they transferred. They had no one to fight at the tier they were at other than [PAXA] and other small roam groups. But [BURN] is one of the backbone guilds of Borlis and I have respect for those dudes. Archer, remember you have had the benefit of strong opponents for a long stretch of time while BP and AR spent a LOT longer time in lower tiers than anything. We’re both still learning. AR has had the benefit of the sPvP/tPvP community bleeding into WvW and that’s the ONLY reason we put up the fights we do. Even if B kitten uch garbage, why did they come to T5 and beat you guys? With [WaR] and [KREW] you guys would be in for a much tougher fight, believe me.

I’ve come to accept the BP playstyle. They play WvW with a focus on using the advantages the WvW environment provides. I know AR and EBay loves open field but, and I’m going by what I’ve seen, BP seems to have decided to as a server focus on exploiting the advantages that come from fighting from defensive positions. And in the current WvW meta, why not? I’ve also seen a big increase in the amount of times BP engages in open field. [WAR] has been mostly running smaller groups and roam teams due to members being busy with finals, jobs, wives, etc. but BP guilds have been present more and more in the field. People joke about [WFD] (and wrongly so, they’re a guild trying to improve and I respect that), but them, [BURN] and some other guilds are running groups now and that’s something BP desperately needs. I really think BP has the most potential to grow out of all the servers here and man if they get it together I’d be worried.

I have no hard feelings to the AR guys who left too. Bradderzh timezone put him always playing in the morning NA and the dude was always stuck upgrading our paper towers after being night capped. Having helped him plenty of times I can vouch for his frustration man, no one can fault him. The rest probably felt the same way. Frustrated that the game they wanted to play just wasn’t happening on Anvil. That’s cool with me, I get it. Transferring in tier is kind of silly, yeah, but they know what to expect from their new homes so I get that too.

Let’s face facts. We’re stuck together for a while. Get used to it. AR and BP are going to trade red and blue with the tides of EBay focus and the interest of each server’s population. How about instead of slinging mud and being babies we play together? Let’s have FUN (a strange idea, I know) with WvW. The towers can wait. BP guilds, try fight clubs with EBay and AR guilds. Again, [WAR] is always a candidate for that (mail me, Redgrass.3067, or Fxncy.2398 to set one up) but push yourselves. A simple thing to do is meet in a PvE zone before WvW and practice some movements and techniques and figure out what you have to work with. We at AR need to get better at defense. We love open field too much and neglect our BL too much lately, something we used to have pride about way back. EBay, keep doing your thing. Had lots of good fights with you guys and seen lots of generally cool stuff out your guys. You should probably be in CD or SBI’s spot but hey. Also, remember the [WAR] GvG invitation is open to you guys too. Personally I’d love to have a run at [pk], [GH], and [GF].
