It’s been a weird day/night even though I’ve only been on during the evening, but we could all notice the little resistance today, and then we had that new build with mesmers doing insane damage just by jumping off stuff, which I’m sure everyone has been doing so we shouldn’t be pointing fingers towards each other.

It turns out we’ve been running Karma trains for most of the day apart from the early evening, which is by no means something we enjoy nor want to do every day/night. Hopefully the leagues there will be a more ‘competitive’ matchups that last the week even with influx of pugs..

Gandarans will be running round the Mad King’s Labyrinth farming something, I went there last night and couldn’t work out what exactly we were supposed to be farming but there is definitely farming to be had.

As for the mesmers I’m with you, some people need to find their sense of humour, its just some light entertainment for the few people left in WvW the evening of new content release. I’d be far more worried about the removal of the ICD on Leg Specialist, when combined with Warrior Sword and certain traits in their Arms line, its basically 100% immobilize up time while they maintain 100% fury up time.

Please tell me this is a joke. I keep reading more and more very odd changes in this patch

Arms 9, Defence 10 and Leg Specialist gives 9 sec CD on hammer cripple and 11 sec fury when ever you immobilise which procs from the cripple. Sword is even more of a joke as the chain on auto attack is bleed, bleed, cripple (immobilise), plus cripple on the 2 skill. Were you so inclined a GS + sword/warhorn warrior could hunt down and stop anything in WvW allowing easy gankage for your buddies…

In all honesty though in the last 2 months we have lost 6 core guilds (one of them had a 40+ raid team.) This week Gandara has played better than us tbh it’s just the last day where I guess most of Gandara is doing Halloween PvE and deso has more players. I agree most of our PvE will probably come back when they see we are winning matches again (something we haven’t being doing for 4 months or so.) Abbadons however are on another level of blobbing compared to us.

No fooling or manipulating going on. Stop thinking we are the same Desolation from months back when we were the stubborn underdog of T1 that refused to give in.

Our coverage is nowhere even close to matching any gold league server.. we lost our main night crew (DVG), we have always had poor morning and daytime coverage, and in the last few months more than half our WvW orientated guilds. Counting up the guilds we have left i can count them pretty much on one hand, don’t believe me? ask Gandara, they would be able to tell you of when at the start of the week they would be ticking 400 or more and were roaming empty maps... as for the sudden change in scores, I honestly have no idea. I don’t play during the day much as I work, but I get up and look down the TS channels and they are all empty or have a few solo people in them, so I am just as surprised as most people to know where this has come from. It may have something to do with Gandara not wanting to go to Gold league, but you’d have to ask them.

Believe me, the WvW guilds of Deso are looking forward to the fights in silver league, we will genuinely struggle against the likes of Gandara and AM. We would be doing well if we ended up in the top half in our current state at the moment, but we shall see.

Look at the score evolution. All the occasions when Deso takes the lead start after midnight, and tend to end at around 10am.

The comparatively weak night crews of Gandara and UW can’t keep up. The only exception was yesterday afternoon, but this may well have something to do with the release.

We fooled you! We’ve lost 80% of the WvW guilds we used to have and like lelith said we are only handful remaining. It’s foolish and delusional to believe something else.

Good week so far, Gandara seemed to have a lot more players on weekend but sunday eve was the turning point when we started to take a grip of it again. Finally playing WvW and not only paintrain WXP farm.

I think Gandara still has their players, but the moment they find out running in that pve labirynth gives nothing they all will be back in WvW. As for Deso, most of the times it’s the same old story repeating over and over: comander goes off → ppl change map etc and /care about loosing T3 towers or refreshing siege. Asking for any scouts or sniper team is just funny at times, and getting any reply about “whats at durios?” often ends up with tower changing colour. Too many ppl care about only lootbags and when the season starts it will be their precious AP, even now they ask every few min how to activate them…

It won’t be hard for servers like Gandara or AM/AG to fight Deso in silver league. Guilds play mostly only during evenings and not many players organize themselves during the day to reset any enemy stuff or at least prevent it from upgrading if it was flipped at night. Look even right now at the score – Gandara pressed a bit more and we go to +190 from over +300 in quite short time. Even though there might be a bit more of our guys staying for the nights I don’t see an easy matches in the future.

Gandara is not tanking points we are a PVE server and this always happen when they release a PVE event thing.

new living story = less gandara WvW population.

I do agree however that Deso and Blobaddon should be in Gold league.

Well I agree completely with Dranul, though that might be my intrinsic hate of Deso as a server talking, I mean you have to hold yourself in high esteem if you place lower on the list than AM and RS to a Gandara player. In fact I’d really take any server over you.

Desolation night crew is the best crew. Morning crew makes me want to slice my throat open with my house keys. Other than that, T1/Gold league whatever is definitely not in our sights anymore and you’d be a fool to think that we have the strength to last there with what he have at the moment.

Maybe if you weren’t crying like a 2 year old on the forums you could actually play the game like you did at the start of the week, you know, that time when you were ahead of us by 25k. Are you sad we’ve caught up? I’ve actually heard rumours that Gandara didn’t want to win this week in case they jumped up to gold league.

Deso is not the same as we used to be. Months ago when we roflstomped you we had a happy crew called DVG pvdooring us to victory. They were our night/morning crew and it was because of them we were able to sweep the floor with you. However, they left the server, and so did Coin, AFTL, War, and FG. So please, kindly shutup and keep playing the game. I’m actually really surprised you guys let us catch up by this much, you had over 20k on us and now we are winning.

A common defence mechanism people use when they are frustrated with their failures is to use displacement, taking it out on somebody else. It seems you are very sad that you had lost your lead but during silver league I would recommend actually fighting against us in game rather than on the forums, it’s usually more effective.

PS: keep in mind you guys were winning, and had you kept up that pressure there was no way we would have caught up. You are however probably the fairest matchup deso has had in a long time, so I commend you for that, so during the league keep up the pressure the entire week rather than half

You should get your stuff right and see that he’s not even on Gandara, try to check some signatures now and then. Might help you not look completely stupid!

I said all they they would all suddenly come outa the woodwork..seems Tankolation think they are they only server that has lost guilds so that makes tanking matches ok.

Aside from quoting Dranul thinking was a Gandaran (would be nice, but no thanks, enjoy fighting TUP when we can) you don’t have some facts right either. You are ahead because of your night crew (may not be called DVG as they left, but at night someone PvDs), you been ticking fancy high number while Europe sleeps, so you still have that force – maybe they where the ones tanking and hiding till you made you secure place in SL.

On primetime is been fun fighting Deso, has lots of good fighters in it – even though some night you went quiet and the amount of tea bagging is the highest I ever seen.

Seriously get over yourselves. I am sick of whining about Deso tanking... I am one of the guild leaders on the wvw alliance and yes, we did plan to drop to silver we planned to drop and have been trying to for months, we don’t have the coverage of the gold league servers and plain and simply don’t want to be stomped for 7 weeks, it would kill off whatever wvw groups there are remaining. We can’t control the more pve orientated players though and of course some will poke their noses in WvW as we are moving into better matchups for us. You could also blame Anet for introducing a friggin living story content into WvW areas, that will drag those players that chase ap’s, so yes at the moment it is quite likely that we are seeing more pve players in wvw than normal. Give it time, let people get these achievements done and we’ll see how we end up. As for all those moaning.. put yourselves in our position, would you really want to fight servers with more WvW poulation than you for 7 weeks.. in matchups you have relatively no chance of competing in, not one of you is on Deso to actually see the overall picture so stop the kittening. Deal with it, simple as that.

I personally look forward to the season start, I want to be fighting guild groups with minimal lag and fewer blobs, can anyone say different? you want to team up against us feel free, we won’t complain, at least not the actual WvW’ers won’t.

As for the comment earlier asking how we kept the true WvW players happy while supposedly ’tanking’.. thats quite simple.. they never left.. those WvW’ers on Deso were in WvW fighting just as they normally do. It’s the PvE’ers that cause the fluctuation in numbers.

Gandara was winning the matchup for the first half of the week. We’ve had the same players playing the whole, we didn’t “wake” up, it seems instead gandara went to sleep.
You can try and say you have less wvw population because of pve, but deso is the pve capital, if you lost people to pve, we lost more.

It seems I replied to dranul and said what I meant to reply to someone else, my apologies. However the statement remains true. You were winning by over 20k at the start, and we caught up. You have no one to blame but yourself. I can remember one night however when we were ticking around 500 for nearly 4 hours straight. I was part of the maybe 15 people on ts that got us that, and to be fair, yes it was PVD, but mostly I was upgrading what we took, and they rarely got attacked. That was the only night I was able to do that, every night before we faced opposition. We didn’t get numbers, you guys lost numbers. It doesn’t matter why you lost those numbers the fact is YOU lost them, so stop saying deso pulled out our guys like we forced them to do pve for weeks.

Not really, based purely on WvW numbers we would probably struggle to place in the top half of silver, it all depends on the PvE’ers, and that is the same for any server.

If you really think it’s crap come to deso for a week and see for yourself. The WvW alliance we have acts in the best interests of the W v W people.. not catering for the PvE people that pop in now and again, and based on the numbers we have EXCLUDING PVE’ER’s, we would struggle to field any competive force outside primetime.

I don’t have to explain Deso politics or situation to you, if you don’t believe the many posts all saying the same thing from many long standing Deso players and leaders that is your problem not ours, seriously come and see for yourself by actually being ON Deso, not just guesting in some PvE area.. See how many guilds we actually have for WvW, see the amount of players on each map, I dare you.

We play the hand we are dealt as the saying goes, and Deso is in the best place that we could hope for, given the current state of the server. We don’t expect to stomp any server to be hinest, we expect a challenge, and we want it, it is up to you all to bring it

Though, like I said in many other threads, it’s a selfish act since you’re putting a Silver League’d server into Gold or you’ll be able to roflstomp the Silver leagues one.
