That was to counter the IRON blob and SFR won. IRON left the zone to help out other zones on that reset night relatively quick (don’t like your own medicine?). Besides how can RG+sIN+pugs be bigger then what Deso or Viz brings to the table, when you got everyone and their mother on your tail, actively asking pugs and other guilds to follow? There’s a zone cap.

RG isn’t interested in blobbing up and is actively telling pugs to get on the commanders and respect the guild raid. Just like I respect another guild’s raid, I expect this from everyone on the server. We don’t need randoms following us, basically nullifying any effort by dying, because they can’t follow our movements (they aren’t on comms, they are bad, many reasons).
I can’t deny we sometimes clash into a pug commander from SFR, because we run untagged.

Number #1 to blame is ANet.
They failed to deliver a suited engine that can handle massive fights. They failed to have a proper network enviroment. They failed with map design (they need to be 5x larger, with same amount of objectives and no waypoints as a basic fix; the middle of the map should have a mechanic like the orb which also needs perma protection to keep buffs active, maybe emphasize on small scale in that area by adding 5-10 minor objectives which need to be held).

Number #2 to blame are the players.
Mentality has changed over the years. No more fights for the fun, only for the kitten (avoiding fights I can’t win; only attacking when I get the jump and/or have superior numbers). Servers playing only for the “win”, a win without benefits (yes, you are green next week, nice), a win in an uncompetitive enviroment (GW2 will never go esports, regardless what the devs think, in it’s current state and for the foreseeable future. GW2 wvw is won based only on coverage).

We stayed on sfr border all reset, quickly lost numbers, but i was there we did not leave sfr border before 4am BST so stop spouting nonsense.

We started off in 2 squads but each squad was outmanned, we and the other guild on the map all turned off our comander icons, so you must have had some information from deso (a Spy) that you thought incorrectly that we had left the map.

I said well played to you guys at the time. Then all it comes back to is blobbing, when in fact the border was split between 3 seperate units with not one comamnder tag on the map. But we are still called a blob?

They don’t lose because they blob, as every server blob, they lose because they don’t make as much points as possible when they should dominate both others servers, when they have more people.

This week i play on SFR home map and EB when i’m roaming. Vizunah focus us on those map (i don’t know how is it on other map, but last week it was the same on Deso borderland), even when Desolation have the outnamed buff, same for Desolation when Vizunah got the Outnamed buff.
We may have a low ptt when the player from Russia log off during european prime time and then we don’t have enough people to defend, but both Deso and Vizunah only share those points and don’t attack each other as long as we still have something on the map. When we get stronger, none of them got much ahead because of that.

About the focus, i understand it, as when desolation isn’t on us we do it on Vizunah and when we got back to T1, we also did full focus vizunah and killed once vizunah in front of their warcamp in EB, while Desolation was fighting them in their keep, because we knew that with a defense near a warcamp, it’s really hard to capture a keep when all servers are at full force.
Desolation and Vizunah are doing the same thing everyday in on our map, like 2 days ago, desolation zerg (80+) was defending the corpse of our garrison lord for 2-3min (standing on it, not chasing people around, only waiting) on the bridge near the north west inner gate, while a zerg as big of Vizunah was fighting us in the circle. The fight in the lord room did last for almost 30min as we kept ressing the lord, without vizunah and desolation attacking each other, but they fought once Vizunah got it.

Great cooperation between VS and Deso in SFR BL. Keep up the good work. Hope we can do it more often in the future.

Umm I am sure you are right as any argument to the contrary is as usual pointless. So did you have a spy? Why did you think we left the border? Is it still a blob when we split into 3 sperate forces and have no commander icons on a map?

Yes really!
No use to keep fighting both SFR and Viz and in the end a T3 garri wouldn’t be flipped. By keeping SFR from running back in, Viz managed to cap it.
We didn’t get it from viz, but just the fact that a T3 keep was flipped was good enough for us.

most people logged because reset was one hour later than normal. so the force we had at reset was substantially smaller than normal. and as for that fight the 40+ “spearhead” (lol) would have been enough to tie the numbers

Today during our weekly WvW event my guild’s TS kept crashing over and over after being around half an hour. In 7 months of playing with them, something like that has never happened. WTB Tinfoil Hat.

Today, Deso and Viz teamed the whole day on EB againts SFR. took Klovan, Deso took WC, viz took golanta, deso took rogue, viz took jerrifer, deso attempted a few times to take aldon and failed. It has been for hours, deso is trying to take sfr keep, while viz is either on the sfr spawn area hunting for sfr or sandwiching sfr with deso. Even some serious occasions viz and deso managed not to kill eachother.

Nevermind that both deso and viz have huge blobs and bunch of sfr, still failing to take the sfr keep.

This remainded me of how did viz and elona teamed up against deso…

Lets not talk about how sneaky, how low this 2v1 against sfr, but lets talk about how prideful, honorable, one of a kind, saint deso is.

Just saying I was leading the defensive force on sfr that eventualy secured our area and even tooks stormist it was fun. Btw iron new tactics hiding in towers? or what and runing when I come? VZ blob we know you can only fight when all on one place. It was fun 6 hours I even moved my guild event on eb. It cost me 30 mins yelling to get pugs on ts and then we were moving left right killing deso then vz then deso again and vz. Also my first ever underwater fight at sfr keep in eb water gate:DD was epic fun . Got my people wiped once. At the end lag in Sm was unbearable how can we fight with no skills. But was fun good fights even if constantly double teamed:D

Actually we appreciate the manners and the props given on reset by IRON. It’s quite refreshing for someone to be mannered on forums.The reason we blobbed up in hills with sIN, was because we expected a full zone to hit there and as you can see the Hills fight from the stream doesn’t look like SFR have more. Opt + RNV were handling Bay and when we lost that they were protecting Garrison and North towers. And yeah you did stay quite long that reset. The one time the whole zone blobbed up in Garrison was actually a strategic mistake because sIN were supposed to stay in Hills, but when it’s inner on lord and people are calling for help in region overkills like that can happen. I think we almost lost hills because of it later on too. Anyway you and Empyre are talking about a different reset so pls stop the confusion :P.

I’ve noticed when I was PuGing it that you had quite some success splitting up in the SFR zone during this and last week, taking north towers or garrison while ppl are blobbing on one of them. So just keep it up and enjoy the game without skill lag. After sometime ppl will hopefully notice it’s not always the full IRON blob when they see a few IRON guys running around lol :P. It doesn’t help with scouting reports either it’s like people have been classically conditioned to expect a 100 of you every time.

Anyway a lot of misunderstanding and reading things the wrong way is going on in this thread, like when I tried to say I had fun fighting VotF one day, while we did not take any points, they actually interpreted it as me laughing at them for not taking points :P.

So much discussing here over kinda trivial things, who had 60 ppl and who had 80… Come on, it’s “just” a game, ppl treat it like some kind of serious buissness and defending “honor” of their servers/guilds here, but then the atmosphere here just becomes unhealthy, it’s not what the games are for

@ Danielle – Thank you for noticing our effort to not mass up and blob on SFR border, I have to say the Vizunah force cough blob cough has been out in scary numbers the last few days. It will of course take a while before we get back to manageable numbers since as soon as one blob is spotted it seems everyone feels the need to do it in order to counter, sometimes it really is better to stay in smaller groups and just run rings around the blobs.

Here’s to this week’s matchup, funner fights than the last two weeks and a kitten of a lot less skill delay, at least for us on SFR Border :>

You did an excellent, remarkable job yesterday on EB. I salute you for that.

Looks like they will keep double teaming against SFR on EB and SFR borderland. I had great fun wiping them over and over again .

Deso cannot survive on its own, they always have to lean on one of the other server to stay on T1.

You know, it’s not like I have lots of love for IRON as my posting history shows, but for all the crap they’re getting, they never bandwagoned on the current fotm server… rather, they stood on Deso and helped rebuild during the two periods in which the server fell in trouble.

Not many left, now, after not even a year from game release, who can claim having done the same. Especially not between the so-called “hardcore” WvW guilds.
We might be using different interpretations of “hardcore” here…

Looks like VS weekly wednesday raid is now live: a huge blob (not less than 50-60) is tearing apart all the maps, focusing green points. I’m okay with that, but beeing outmanned at this time of day is sad thing.

poor VS guys can’t capture the tower alone, so brave and kind IRON helps them. Many times. I’m okay when one server is attacking one side of the keep, and another doing the same at their side, but this is funny.
