I have recently returned and tried out the norn racial shapeshift: bear. I am confused, many many months later and this skill still feels VERY clunky and difficult to use. The norn shapeshift style is the primary reason I wanted to play a norn, are they just slow to fix it?

It’ll probably never be fixed. I’m assuming you mean the fact that all the attacks root you in place. I’m not sure why, but with the exception of Snow Leopard they all do that, and it’s quite annoying.

ANet appears to have decided that giving advantages to each race was a bad idea, certainly with balance in mind. So racial skills are bad and they don’t seem interested in changing them. Players have come up with the idea that racial skills were intended to be for aesthetic/roleplay purposes.

I don’t expect transformations to ever be useful.

That they are outshined by prof skills was expected. But does that mean they have to be useless? And they don’t even work good for fun with a 30s timer and 4 min cd…

Agreed to the nth degree Zorby. They should be awesome.
