My take on this is there is a bunch of owls in a very dark basement under the item shop that is at the cave entrance where you find this emote. use your candle and walk to the creepy owls and …they are not what they seem..they are instead wooden dolls you can hit for baubles…quite a few actually.

I don’t think you can actually kill them. I’ve climbed to the trees where the owls perch in 2-2 and swiped at them with my stick and it doesn’t seem to do anything at all. Its interesting that you can swipe at the space where they would be and get “hit” sound effects, though.

I’m hoping for something more mysterious, as the owls harass you both before and after that particular little area. Would make sense, just not as climactic as I want lol.
