My comments/suggestions:

1. I don’t like the cost of keys. Trade 25 baubles for 40? I better just go kill random mobs for the key or just not bother with the chest at all, since buying a key from a store and carrying it over to the chest aren’t much convenient anyway, especially for zone 3. Also, for zone 1, it’s 25 baubles for 20, totally not worth the deal. My ideal cost for a key is 15 baubles.

2. In Rapids, sometimes I can’t hit those alligators with my stick (I have to switch to bomb), and it happens several times that I get pushed off from the rock in the moving water for no reason while standing on it. Please move the alligators closer to you and make the rock a little bigger.

3. It’s unfair that a player can receive another 2 bauble bubbles by playing a different toon. It strongly encourages farming SAB. For example, I have 8 toons. Basically, I just play all of them and get a skin within 2 days. Comparing to my friend, she plays only one toon, so she can earn only 7 baubles per day unless she farms baubles. And because she hates farming, she just buys her favorite skin from TP. My suggestion is to make those drops from chest account bound and increase the reward of bauble bubbles to 5 per chest AND per account, not per toon.

Anyway, thanks for creating such a cool game, Josh.

1. Shop keys are there just for cases where there’s a group and someone holding a key falls in a pit. We didn’t want the whole team to lose out because someone made a mistake. They are not meant to economically profitable.

2. By the time you’re to World 2 you should really have a whip or slingshot. It’s a lot easier if you come prepared.

3. We will be changing quite a lot about how SAB works in future installments.

I will never really understand why people take so much issue with alts. I mean, if you wanted to argue against character create/delete farming that would be one thing, but having alts has arguably never been particularly profitable to anyone who has them outside of the enjoyment of playing them. Every time it is beneficial to have one in GW2 it seems to get nerfed, even though alts are a financial drain in almost every possible respect (needing additional character slots, storage space, equipment, etc.).

Someone with one character has to do a LOT less work than an altoholic in almost every other aspect of the game. I envy people who only have and can stick with one character. Because I enjoy multiple characters the amount of time, effort, and resources I put into the game is increased 8x as opposed to only having to do it once.

I don’t expect my point of view will change anything, but it will hopefully serve as food for thought.

Josh, could you perhaps look into the problem with the camera remaining zoomed out, after leaving SAB at a boss area? It seems to be consistently reproducible. Its a bit wacky having your camera zoomed out like at the boss, while running around in LA, and not being able to zoom in any more.

I hope it is a simple thing to fix.

SAB can be done at any character level, can’t it? I’ve done it with a lvl 9. Everyone gets 5 slots, and it’s easy to get to Rata Sum. Everyone can do that if they want to.

It is simple to fix yourself.

Zone 1: Either jump down or wait to be ported to zone 2.
Zone 2: Either walk onto the rainbow, jump down, or wait to be ported to zone 3.
Zone 3: Never had this problem after the boss. Edit: Nevermind. I guess I don’t do the zone 3 boss enough to notice/remember. No suggestions here other than to zone back in or relog. :P

I usually only get what I call “super zoom” if I port to Rata Sum directly after finishing zone 2, so I’ve made a habit of making sure I at least walk onto the rainbow before I leave.

Hi, I love the Jumping puzzles in GW2 am a huge fan of them and live in Australia, have lag issues but I know how to cope with them and how to go around them, also cannot wait for the next part to be open have already explored alot and been practicing the dodge-jump alot

can I suggest though that you some how make it that when you die in the SAB that it doesn’t add to your /deaths count please? I show alot of people through for achievements and dieing 1-3 times per running others is making a huge number on my deaths count (think sab has added about 150-200deaths now to my main char)

It’s not my job to try and find ways around an unintended bug. There’s always a way to bring the camera back. I’m just asking if Josh and his team could perhaps fix it, so I don’t have to jump through hoops to reset my camera.

Well, it’s not simply a problem with SAB, it’s a glitch that can occur after many of the game’s major boss fights (Shadow Behemoth, Tequatl, Claw of Jormag, Shatterer) – just change characters mid-fight with those guys and you’ll encounter the same glitch.

As the glitch is inherently a part of the boss camera mode, I doubt Josh’s team has any members which are actively able to fix it, and the most they can do is bring it up as an issue with the guys that designed the camera in the first place (same as the issue with the camera going crazy when forced into a tight spot, etc)

Edit: Well, they might be able to move the event that resets the camera to “boss death” instead of “leaving the boss arena”, but an actual fix would help the game elsewhere.

Adding group puzzles that cant be solved solo would be as frustrating as in the end of Personal story having group dungeon.

It’s certainly tricky to design group puzzles for anywhere from 1-5 players!

Please note the “1”.

I think this was the point since the Super Adventure Box will be gone by the end of the month. I’ve run the dungeon a minimum of 46 times. I’m not sure where I’m at now, but that equates to around 276 chests being opened. I’ve gotten 2 skins out of 276 chests. First skin was a staff that sold for 8 gold. The second skin was a short bow that will only sell for 4 gold. I’m not sure what you’re upset about. I spent the first 250 bauble bubbles on obsidian shards. I spent the next 120 bauble bubbles on philosopher’s stones. Then after I finished my mystic clovers, I had to go back and farm about 150 more bauble bubbles for obsidian shards for my gift of mastery. 2 skins in all that time. I’d rather farm for precursors than hope for another one of those skins to drop. Just saying. I love the SAB, and I love the green skins I can buy, and I am glad they’re not impossible to obtain. I also like how the yellow skins are hard to obtain.

I wouldn’t mind if they changed the way Alts work with the SAB, but they’d also need to change the reward rate. I’d hate if they made it so that alts didn’t get BBs, or got less of them per run, if they kept the initial pass at 2BBs per zone. I’ve been getting around 21BBs per day with my current path (three characters), and I would hope that whatever changes are made, I could make roughly that same amount or more per day.

How about how after you start the game, there is a cave in the waterfall behind you and in the cave are places where water shoots up. For some reason unlike in previous similiar games we can’t use them to go higher like we should. And for doing this there should be a puzzle up there with some 50 bauble treasures in it if you can figure out the puzzle.

Also, any chance of getting my pointy stick crafted into a bokken? (Japaneese wooden sword.) that would be able to be 1 or 2 handed? And the ability to have a shield could be good too, especially if it reflects projectiles sent to your character’s face. And has a skill on the bar that could be used as a defensive tool knocking back and stunning non boss monsters and knocking them off cliffs? Something like a shield bash would be nice.

How long do they stay active? Can you count in seconds? They should be there for at least 2 or 3 seconds, which should be enough time to use them to get up to the top.

Also I have noticed no mace and some other weapon skins are not there as rewards? Are we going to get SAB skins for every weapon type, as i don’t see skins for some types of weapons? Also perhaps not being able to jump on waterspouts is due to the speed buff/debuff problem you are aware of? It could be a side effect of it and need a workaround.

There is a small rock to the right as you enter the cave. Start on there and jump to the smaller, closer spout. Then to the larger spout and from there either to the ledge on the right and ahead, or twist around and jump to the ledge to the left and a little behind.

Watch the timing pattern of the spouts. They will alternate on and off, then both off and both on. You can either time it to jump when both are on, or you can jump to the small spout first and leave it just as the larger is coming back up. Both ways have pros and cons.

As for which ledge, I have had more luck getting to the one that is to the left and a bit behind. It may be a harder initial jump, but for some reason, I have done better than with the other.

Good luck

For the most part this is good, and finally got on top of one after compensating for the 1 second of difference in the timing that seperated getting on it verses not. For some reason the speed seemed to differ when jumping, much like speed can be faster/slower when leaving combat. Just practice and you can compensate for it I guess.

I’m actually going to defend farming:

I’m a hardcore fan of jumping puzzles in the game. When there’s a daily or monthly that wants me to do a jumping puzzle, I go to puzzles like Coddler’s Cove and Dark Reverie, not the easy puzzles. I wish they were more rewarding for being good at them.

Jumping puzzles aren’t as lucrative or fast as certain dungeons. If someone enjoys only playing jumping puzzles for the few hours they get on, they’ll get less loot than mob farming at Orr or going to WvWvW. SAB is currently the closest thing a jumper can get to farming, but the rewards still aren’t that great by comparison to other activities. A “1 in 50” chance to get a skin to sell for ~10g is pretty pathetic. I assume the ingredients are probably a good thing to farm for, but I don’t really get into long-term projects that require such ingredients, so I can’t say for sure. I doubt farming to have all of the skins is going to ruin the game economy. So, I don’t see the harm in farming SAB.

Even rushing through SAB doesn’t seem so bad to me. When you played games that SAB is themed after, you stopped to enjoy the scenery in the first, maybe second playthrough. Then you start playing it to see how fast and good you can get with the game. People actually stream or post videos of them playing a speed-run on a game. So why should SAB not let people finish it as fast as they can? In fact, I think it would be more rewarding to dedicated SAB players to give greater rewards for finishing a zone within a certain time or even without taking any damage.

What I would like to see from SAB, besides more skins, would be exotics as a reward. It can’t be that hard to slap some exotic stats on the existing skins, along with a high Bauble Bubble cost, could it?

Am I the only one that consistently runs into trouble with this jump? At certain angles I seem to hit an invisible wall and bounce back mid jump. Not sure if it’s me or the game but I’ve done SAB so many times now, I’m leaning towards the latter.

My suggestion would be: give a couple of extra Bauble Bubbles for getting all the Baubles for one Zone, or for vanquishing all mobs in the zone, to give more options. You could go and do speed runs or stay a little while and get more BBs for the effort.

Also, Optional/Secret Bosses that are difficult to reach would be awesome too. Maybe with a higher chance of dropping rare skins.

More like Zelda where you had a keyring would be nice, btw max keys was 9 at a time. Also how about making keys needed to buy for additional areas that hold a keymaze and treasures for someone who completes it. This way failure to complete it would cost you baubles. But success could mean an easier way for a single character who is far along to get treasures that are very nice but not easily farmable.

First off even though at times I do just run though the levels I like the idea of having your chances for additional loot be tied to proformance (kills being the best answer otherwise people will just keep a stack of baubles on their Char to improve chances).

Additional suggestions and fixes.
1. It is posible to load a char with more baubles then you can carry in the game, before entering, and they translate into the game. Meaning if you put 4 stacks of 250 baubles on a char they will have 1000 baubles when the game loads.

2. Rushing, yes individual rushing can be a problem, but what is worse is what I call skip rushing. A player playes solo gets to boss gets him down to almost dead then find a place to hide and invites thier friends to join him. They load die and get ported to the end. Then with a single swing the boss can be killed and everyone gets a chest.

3. Killing bosses before they activate. Zone 2 is bad for this there are atleast two ways to kill the boss with out him ever activating. It may be a good idea to make the boss invincible until you enter the arena. Expaining the arena and making the boss reset when new poeple enter the game may fix the issue above too. In hard mode the boss could reset health if everyone leaves the arena, promoting team play, or requiring the boss to be killed with one life.

4. in the hollow tree leading to motos breath there are a number of mushroom jumps where you can almost reach the mushroom above you but you are intended to go around. Becuase of the edges it is possible to bounce close enough to one that you end up getting bouce by it as well as the one below it enabling the skipping of several jumps.

5. It may just be a lag thing (I play most often on a cell modem) but the rapids seem a little to touchy. I have been standing on rocks and been sucked down stream as well as in the middle of jumps.

6. It would be great if you could somehow eleminate some of the lag issue most are outside of you control but the two death thing seems like something that could be taken care of. By two deaths I mean where a really bad section of lag occurs you die but it lagged so bad it reset you back to where you where when you died in the case of falls you end up falling to your death twice. that last is a tall order, but just incase you can actually do something.

7. One other possible lag related issue mushrooms and lilles sometimes cause you to go through the emote of laying on your face this make making the jumps even harder. If you can stand still for a little while you can attack or use a emote to reset your char to standing again but sometime you can’t stop that long. On mushroom sometime you don’t bounce you land for a number of secs this can throw off some of the longer jumps where you need to holding toward you direction for the whole jump or you will not make it.

I’d rather be able to just play around and enjoy a zone rather than finding myself HAVING to farm it to gain the reward (in this case amassing 50 B.B.‘s to get myself a nice skin) I found a quick route to get about 140-200 baubles in about 2-3 minutes, ending up with more or less 3 B.B’s in 10 minutes, but … it was boring! Way more fun (although also way more frustrating) was getting the Distinction in Applied Jumping title. I love the idea someone else mentioned of getting a one-time boost for completing the achievements. Say an achievement chest like you get for dailies. Something that, even if you haven’t farmed or ran the world repeatedly for other reasons, just for being tenacious enough to jump the heck out of it until you can actually make all the jumps and find all the secrets, you can get say a one time per account (just as the achievement really) boost that would be enough to get most or all of the skin of your choice. Then if you want more for all your alts… well then you have alts to farm them with in that case I guess.

Ok maybe a little wordy but my point is: I’m totally in favor of a substantial one time bonus for completing each world! I’m glad I got my title, and I got one skin also, but farming for the skin was, well, kind of boring.
