The new dungeon is great. The normal mobs are numerous and sometimes need some CCing or prio targetting to get down without causing ppl to get downed. The boss with the lasers is pretty fun.

Last boss could be fun if we had more thing we could actualy use to control her and guide her into the electric shots. And make it shorter, takes forever.

Overall I like this dungeon , but I haven’t beaten it yet.

Tried 5 times alrdy and result is the same , being forced to quit because everyone just freaking leaves.

I got a lot of tries on my first time there and felt like I could get there, but then ppl had to go, which is fine after having like 7 tries on it.

But after that it is constantly the same , 1 or 2 wipes and like 2-3 ppl just leave. Pretty much wasting other ppl their time.

This happens in other dungeons aswell. And should be punished by a small debuff, that makes it unable to join for a small period of time. Ow it gets a bit hard , lets leave and keep trying to get into a group that facerolls it.

Seriously why dont ppl try harder.

Another thing that could help vs ppl leaving is making some kind of LFG chat channel that is accesible even in dungeons, so you can spam LFM without having to leave the dung :p

Sometimes groups are unable to finish due to the class configuration and/or skill level of some of the members. Continuing on is just prolonging the inevitable.

They didn’t deal with the Dragon Ball AFK’ers the messed the game up for those that were playing (and they should have been dealt with a major blow by Anet). Ditto here.
Nothing will happen, and let the paying customers deal with the programming shortfalls.

So you’d prefer that the next time you’re forced to quit, that you be punished for it? There’s an old saying about swords having two edges.

That’s actually quite generous. In most dungeon PUGs if you wipe 2-3 times on the same boss, somebody will either leave or get kicked.

No, wiping 7 times is a waste of everyone’s time. You’re not gonna kill that boss and even if you could it’d probably be faster to start over with a better group.

Pointless. If the punishment is trivial, it’s still the better option than continually wiping with a bad group. If the punishment isn’t trivial, then it’s going to cause serious collateral damage to people it shouldn’t affect. They had this penalty in GW1 PvP, to discourage syncing. All it did was make syncers get better at doing it right on the first try, and every normal player who got put into an obviously bad match was forced to either play it out, unanimously resign, or take the wait penalty. Didn’t really help make the matches any better. If such a system was implemented in GW2, it would just make LFG more elitist and less open. Gear/achievement inspection would start to become a requirement no matter what instance you were running. It’s a basic fact that parties dislike wipes and if you add a penalty for doing it then many decent players will just stop playing with strangers, and it will become that much harder for pugs to accomplish anything.

I agree with Leablo. I’ve played WoW for many years, and that exact thing has happened. It makes the community less friendly, and you lose the chance to learn and develop the skills that a group can teach you.

Sometimes, it’s better to leave a group, that’s an utter failure, because of personality, lack of skill, or lack of sense. If that group feels the need to ‘punish’ the leavers because of its overall failure, that’s when I quit the game too.

It’s bad enough that some content requires you to group. Don’t make it worse, should those players decide to try, when the group contains elements that make the game more of a choir and a test of patience than actual entertainment.

If you feel so strongly about those ‘leavers’, block them, write down their names, and never group with those persons again.

What you’re asking is akin to that blind-date dumping you. You don’t get to send her to jail afterwards. It happens. You’ll get over it.

On that note, it’s always nice when someone who wants to go through a dungeon have a complete meltdown in map-chat when they cannot get a group together.

Makes me so glad I avoided that group nightmare.

I think that a simple solution would be the ability to initiate a vote, similar to how Dungeon Paths are chosen. If the majority chooses to leave, you leave. But, if the majority wants to continue, then anyone that wants to leave can pay some small fee and be on their way.

I might get flamed for saying this, but the dungeon deserter debuff in wow is really kind of good. It isn’t so bad that you don’t mind taking it if you do have to leave, but it discourages people from leaving just to mess with you. On the other hand, gw2 seems designed to lead with carrots rather than sticks, so it might be against the game ethos to punish people anyway, and fair enough.

If ppl leave after 4-5 wipes , and there isnt any significant progress than that is fine imo. But I only had one group that kept trying and making progress and almost nailed it, the rest were all 1-2 tries and leave :p

It works in games like WoW, lots of times you just stay and try to carry the group because you dont want to sit around doing nothing.

Lets say ppl who are a bit slower and not so good at the game, do you think they can improve if they have to quit after 1 try because the majority of the party left?

ah well probably will have to wait and try it with a guild group :p

You probably didn’t want to play with that person anyway. But I do agree that with WoW, it’s not a big deal because you just hit the dungeon queue and in a couple of minutes there’s your new player. Hopefully they will have a dungeon finder tool soon.

Yesterday, the guy who entered left at phase 4 of last boss. We were doing great.

Then the next group the guy who entered ragequit at last bosses.

Then for the third time the guy who entered went afk then got disconnected and everyone left.

That was all in a row lol.

Today a guild mate and I had 7 people in and out of the party, one left because of prior engagement, next two couldn’t hack the end boss and rage quit, got a replacement 3, of the replacements one left for whatever reason half way through the end boss fight, and then we finally got one more and finished the boss.

Talk about bloody annoying.

I have patience for retries, but if group isn’t showing any progress you just got to call it sometimes-learned that on fire fractal post 30. There is actually an advantage if a team is wiping and you get a bunch of leavers. You can post for a group at last boss and experienced players will jump in for quick chest. I do it all the time.

P.S. 5 engys would rock any dungeon. Most unapreciated class in game maybe.

I only leave when I know a group can’t progress. I normally give a warning though.
