Seems people getting auto banned is happening more and more:

I guess if you were banned you couldn’t post in this forum? Anyone else know this is happening to people they know?

When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you.

I don’t know anyone that was personally affected, but I just needed to come in and point out that this jumping puzzle isn’t new. I think there are just more people doing it now as a result of there being a cache up there.

Title should read “Metrica Jumping Puzzle = Permanent Ban”, as it’s just 1 puzzle (from what people are posting) and that puzzle is not new.

I really hope ANet looks into this. I know on the Reddit thread they said they are but something on the official forums would be nice.

Kind of a big deal to ban 4-5 people who’ve come out and said it and for it to be wrongful ban

My fun laughs at your server pride.

Its anet.. their system is flawless. So they have a “right” to be kittens about it. Then again.. they don’t have any say in the matter, all account/money relevant issues are handled by ncsoft and those dipkittens never cared. At least with anet you can sue them for the hell of it… as long as its some federal matter and you don’t have to pay lol. With koreans… yeah… its a land with censorship being a norm. And people wonder why everyone runs from there like a sinking ship.

Betting money… anet/ncsoft won’t even apologize for this crap. If and only if, they will even do anything about it. Their so called “careful review” is not very careful since people get auto-banned on the spot, heck it plainly illustrates utter lack of any kind of review.
And here is a direct quote from their official stance on any account ban matters. Talk about kittenish attitude.

"
We have complete confidence in our detection and in our decision to terminate the account. Therefore, we will not accept an appeal in relation to this account termination.

The decision to terminate the account is final. This decision has been thoroughly reviewed by our team, and we maintain absolute confidence in our conclusion.

The account will remain permanently closed and is not eligible for reactivation under any circumstances.

"
Auto-bans and careful in same package… Yeah. Total confidence.

I remember good old blizzard. It took a lot of effort for me to get suspended for 1 measly day and thats after me getting personally told by gms in very polite way to stop with the hyjal watery hole abuse(about 6 times mind you…). Not via a bot response but personally. Heck ironic facts most gms that sat on tickets on my server I talked personally to due to our guild being fairly competent back in vanilla so when we had glitchy content we had actual people sitting with us… and doing debugs on the spot, asking questions, giving invites to their raid testing servers.
What do you get here? Submitting ticket amounts to absolutely nothing at all. No response of any kind no matter what you submitted. I remember in ega I submitted stacks of tickets about broken dialogue lines. Mostly checks for player race variations/ broken choices etc. I don’t think even ONE got fixed( and that includes dialogues with actual code being displayed in dialogue line…“Missing parameter, exit dialogue” etc. So after about 50 tickets I said kitten it… if they don’t care why should I. And that brings us full circle. Nobody cares about anything here.

Sadly, welcome to the world of free to play games. The worst part about this is that compared to a lot of other companies (in particular Nexon and a few others that come to mind right away) NCSoft and Arena Net are great in comparison. We actually hear from REAL GMs, even if what we hear isn’t always enough or what we like. Ask anyone who plays a Nexon title and you’ll hear that you never hear from them, ever. And Nexon isn’t alone in that silence. The fact is, games that rely completely or mostly on micro-transactions (in other words “free to play”, or in this game’s case, “pay once, play forever”) don’t make nearly as much money as games like World of Warcraft and other subscription titles, so they can’t afford the same staff. Is that an excuse? Well, sort of. It means that we as a community have to cut them some slack. We have to realize things will take longer, we won’t hear from GMs personally most of the time (and I’m still grateful we hear from Anet employees as often as we do, even if I would like to hear from them more, especially in game), and that things like tickets might take longer to resolve than in a subscription game. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean that we don’t expect quality once we’ve waited and been promised something.

Anet all promised us upon launch that this would be a game where the player base would be listened to, and we’ve all been very vocal about things like bugs, glitches, and just plain general feedback and suggestions since the betas. I wouldn’t go so far as to say “Nobody cares about anything here”, because it isn’t true. Does this game have it’s share of problems? Yes, every game does. Does Anet/NCSoft need to step up and fix issues in a timely manner? Yes to that too. However, the fact that you can make a generalization like “Nobody cares about anything here” is a testament to how well we’ve been treated where we feel that this is “bottom of the barrel” type of treatment. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s always ACCEPTABLE treatment, or making excuses for poor management, ect., but it could be far worse than it is. So instead of throwing your hands up and giving up, keep it civil. But in return, the company should keep it civil to us too. This includes looking into bans and not having a cover-all reply for something that isn’t working correctly. So since we’ve been promised to be listened to, I’ll bump this. Please look further into these bans Anet, it would do you a world of good PR if you did

Giving someone praise because they aren’t the worst example out there isn’t really making situation any better. I payed less for wow in a year with access to absolutely everything. Then I already payed here… and I abhore item shops so the only things I did buy were cosmetic nonsense. Yeah my bank has barely any slots… and I have default character limit. Yeah… that bad.
All the anet feedback that I cared for so far was either false or irrelevant. There are bugs still here that were reported in beta. 10 months later you have no excuse.

Frankly I’m pretty much done here. Personally I consider base of SWTOR light years ahead. Excellent story not something I can’t recall an hour later like with gw2 personal stories. Core mechanics were thought through. There were no stats that were useless because you happened to play some specific spec. Dots weren’t treated like a bad rash. Pvp wasn’t a mindless zerg where you didn’t get any tangible reward unless you just ran for the maximum kills possible and it didn’t matter one bit if you win or loose. Sadly… it was ran by ea… They managed to kitten off most people who pre-ordered with their staggered launch. What that accomplished is one thing only. It reminded people that what they are playing is ran by EA. 5 months later from packed to the max hubs. You ended up with ghosttowns. 10 people in a hub is plain sad. Hour long ques for pvp only 3 months after launch. The game was doomed by poor management not because it was bad.

At this point I honestly think I’ll get TES:online. Do I have any expectations from that game. NO. NONE. I fully expect that game to kitten on everything that I liked about TES. Heck skyrim put nails on most things that made tes games some of my favorite. But I gave anet a lot more time then I gave ex-bioware game, at this point 5 months more then I gave a game that I actually liked more. I dropped diablo 3 in about 2 months. And I didn’t even bother with sc2. The amount of time I dumped into d2 is huge so is sc1. And I won’t even mention how much time I spent with WoW(I quit shortly after WoTLK) But I know activision well enough to not even bother waiting for something so as soon as blizzard got bought I left WoW because it managed to pretty much die in my eyes in less then a year after buy-out. Anet was a wildcard for me. I didn’t play gw1 but I heard a lot of good things about from people who share my general view on gaming. All of those people already quit gw2.

So yeah… here I am… willing to pay for a game I’m 99% sure I won’t even like because frankly mmo scene is as barren and dead as it gets. And I’ve cut this company a lot more slack then I did for old giants like blizzard and bioware (R.I.P. I miss those guys).

Please don’t make ncsoft out like some saints on white horse because they aren’t the worst. Simple fact a guy was terminated from ncsoft. He sued them and got payed 28mil after texas federal court ruling. Ncsoft tried again and then payed him another 4mil in damages. This is what kind of company you are dealing with. Someone willing to falsify records and use fraud. Meh… Do I feel bad for anet for being stuck with them. Yeah… but even with a leash if they wanted to, they could have done a lot more if they tried.

And about companies being quiet. There is my last dev company that I still adore. Egosoft. They barely ever communicate. Yet they have no payed dlc. A lot of content is made by modders. They fix bugs ASAP. When people ask for something to change it does change. They even release a full blown rehaul in a form of x-pack for a price of dlc. Just to hold people over until new title. Heck they give you a steam disabled executable just because people aren’t fond of running steam…. Again… company gives you drm bypass because people ask for it.

There are different types of communication. In anets case none of them are of any particular use for me personally. I got this game for necro… and I exhausted my patience mostly.
