I came home today to see that the “boss” instances were removed with today’s change in the living story. Was I the only one who did not realize that this was going to happen today? I assumed they would be around for a bit longer. Or at least us given some kind of official word (that reaches more than just these forums) that content was being removed.

In that vein, I would like to know exactly when Crab Toss is going to be removed. Will it continue to be available during the Dragon Festival? Or do we have until next week (June 11th) to complete those achievements before the activity goes away?

In the original release notes I remember reading that is was going to be a new permanent mini-game, but I may have mis-read something.

They said it was temporary but “it could come back as permanent” or something to that effect.

Just to confirm, I was able to enter both the solo and group mode instances for Canach’s Lair today 6/4. They are still there.

All of the Southsun achievements you can get until June 11th which is the patch day for Dragon Bash. I would try to get everything done by the night of the 10th.

Ahhh… well the icons were gone for me and friends were complaining about it being gone.

Change Crab Toss Daily to “Play 3 Crab Toss Game” instead of “Won The Southsun Crab Toss”

Sometimes it took me more than 1hr to win (>.<) this is wasn’t the idea behind “Daily”

Honestly? I wish it would be permanent. Not because I love the mini-game. Hardly. Because I can’t bring myself to play it more than two or three matches at a stretch before I get bored.

I loved the achievements, but I’m starting to think this’ll be the first ones I just skip in Guild Wars 2.

And that says a lot for me.

There is no reason for it to not be permanent. They should keep adding mini games into the game. Please anet, just leave it in the game.

Players who don’t like crab toss can easily ignore it.
Players who do like crab toss find their game enriched by it.

I see nothing gained by removing it. Diversity is a good thing.

Ties into their goal of having temporary content that has more meaning to people because it that limited availability. in some cases its a good concept.

Since this mini-game isnt seasonal and ties into the world nicely (unlike SAB, imo) I’d be all for it staying. Its like Keg tossing in that regard, and Anet promised many minigames before release, and “Soon” after release, and that was it.

Keep Crab Toss! Please!

I really want those achievements, but all my friends want to try other stuff and I’m struggling to get around to it, lol!

They said some of the changes from the LS would stay permenant. Crab Toss is very likely to be one of them, since there is nothing pressing it to go away. Id wager gold its staying for good.

I hope it stays forever, at least, when I say “it” I mean the achievements…

After having crab toss achievements bugged and winning my first grueling match of it during this time, my stance towards it was demoralized from “I don’t want to play this game” into “I will never play this game ever again, not until a far distant future.”

They’ve stated Crab Toss will be permanent. The achievements will not be so I suggest you start doing them now.
