I have singlehandedly solved the mystery of Southsun as to why karka are continuously attacking Consortium “tools, supplies, and records” without apparent reason (as per a conversation with Subdirector Noll). The Consortium ship’s holds are stacked with barrel upon barrel of melted butter. In preparation for the mass genocide of the karka species by way of a nefarious chain of cheap buffet style restaurants… I mean c’mon! Look at the tails on those adult karka!

Mystery solved. You can all return to Lion’s Arch now. =D

You know that handy little shell crushing device they give you for cracking lobster shells in seafood restaurants? Imagine that, but fit for adult karka legs! It would be the size of a man, and would likely take two Norn to wield, lol! They could make it an attraction of sorts, maybe even some sort of sporting event.

I hadn’t quite taken into account just how prolifically effieicent the karka breeding cycle is either. They literally lay eggs in combat, which hatch almost immediately, only to send the young after you with explosive intent… They could feed many. Likely for decades.

We shouldn’t have killed that Ancient Karka, just chained him in a ship and transport him to LA, where we could produce food for the entire Tyria.

Why is everyone so astonished that Karka and the other wildlife are hostile on that island? That’s exactely what I expected them to be. I mean whenever I was on that island “it did not end well” like a good friend of me likes to say.^^

It’s not the hostility that’s alarming, it’s the the unnatural level of hostility. According to a few NPC conversations about the main tourist area, the wildlife has been specifically attacking cargo crates and such. Things that otherwise, as one highly astute Lion Guard Captain noted, they generally would not be doing. Especially not if said crates only contained “tools, supplies, and records.”

Funny, I personally prefer the bottom feeding aquatic life taste-wise. Things like lobster, crab, and catfish are the best!
