why there is no gem slot on the new back-pieces?

both new backpieces have infusion slot, on the rare flower and exotic tentacles, but they are not ascended…

is it because the devs were lazy? they created the nice skin but were too lazy to create it properly with gem slot?

is it because they intend us to transmute them anyway? then why making them as items, make them skins from the start.

is it because the only way to use them is to spend 50 ectos, 250 shells and 100 more flowers? if this is the case, I am speechless…

I don’t think it’s intended. Infusion slots are not meant for non-ascended items.

Or it could be that the devs wanted players to have an easily obtainable item with an infusion slot so that players maybe be more inclined to do Fractals and not be worried about hitting the Agony barrier come level 10. Especially since saving-up the 30 laurels minimum for an ascended gear is still a huge barrier for the most casual of players.

Honestly, we are back in the one place that is most closely tied with Fractals and you are wondering why the backpieces have infusion slots O.O

Also, 50 ectos, 250 shells and 100 flowers ONLY upgrades the exotic backpiece to ascended and has no application to the flower.

Lastly, I am pretty sure assigning an infusion slow or a gem slot is as simple as clicking an option in their development tool so “laziness” doesn’t come into it.

Actually I am rather sure they repeatedly said that they WILL add Infusion slots to other tiers of items as well, back when Infusions were released.

Yesterday I wanted to transmute the flower rare backpiece onto the exotic backpiece that my warrior had. Surprisingly enough, I couldn’t move the exquisite ruby jewel. I just want the look, I don’t want to take the stupid stats nor the infusion. They should make it so that we are able to move the Jewel -_-.

There is a post in this thread that says the jewel will move over when transmuted even though you cannot see it as an option to choose.

Seems like a mistake to me – someone added a wrong upgrade slot o those items.

It is an easily achievable infusion slot, that can be transfered over alts. That way, every alt can start with a solid 5AR, which is enough until at least fotm15. By making it not BiS, they can’t be considered freebies.
