You hyped sclerite enemies so much and the queen isn’t even part sclerite. We have sclerite weapons that blink and spew their juices everywhere, we have the sclerite karka shell, there was a sclerite eye on the back of the chest in Molten Facility but there’s no sclerite enemies or even any mention of it. What gives?

Actually I think that the exoskeleton of all karkas is made of a series of sclerites.

Even if that were the case, where are these purple looking creatures? Where are these black, lifeless eyes? Where are the tentacles, you only see the tentacles on either the backpack or as part of the karka hive but you never see it after that.
The back item’s flavor text is “The karka have mysterious biological properties” but they don’t show that off. I’m extremely disappointed that the Karka Queen was literally a champion karka with more hp.

Hm, now that you mention it… what the hell? Are there going to be some scelerite enemies in future living stories or did they just completely forget? They dropped tentacles all over the place hinting at some mutated beasts awakening but in the end we just get normal karka with “crazed” status tacked on.

Yes, it’s a shame. I was looking forward to a Cthulhu meta event, but we just got normal karka.

They must have all fell into the hole the developers dug themselves into with these Southsun patches…

Okay, so, what would have solved this and tied everything together nicely, is if the Karka Queen would have been purple. Replacing the textures with differently coloured ones would (I imagine) have been a trivial change. Even if it was the same textures, otherwise. I personally think that the dripping and eyes wouldn’t even have been necessary.

That would have been a nice reveal at the end, and made the final boss even a little more “special”.

(That being said, when I first heard of the sclerite weapon tickets, I imagined them to look more like the karkas – a pink (slash green, slash all colours) coral reef sort of look. I would have liked that better than the dark purple drippy textures that seemingly came out of nowhere.)
